I used olive oil instead of sesame oil, chilli powder instead of pepper flakes and didn't add sugar since i prefer spicy dressing....... And the salad was lip-smacking superb.!!!!!! I made this with red leaf lettuce and it turned out delish! It's absolutely true that it's best fresh, as Maangchi said - the leftovers got pretty soggy/wilted in the fridge overnight...but they still tasted good!
I have made this salad three times, today I made it with Bok Choy, WOW! this recipe made with Bok Choy is Amazing and a great wat to change it up. My son is a junior Blackbelt in Taekwondo and has taught himself to read, write and speak Korean. His dream is to visit South Korea and some day maybe even live there. Since he can not do that right now I thought I would bring Korea to him by learning to cook the Korean way. It's the Dad and Sailor in me I guess, but I do love to cook. I was just wondering what salad to make for my lunch tomorrow when I saw this video uploaded. I ran downstairs and made the dressing and packed the salad separately. I tried some of the dressing and it is soooo good! I can't wait till lunch tomorrow! The only change I had to make was to use gochujang, because I did not have the red pepper flakes. I then used just a little less soy sauce to make up for the saltiness of using the gochujang.

I Love this salad I make this all the time. Sometimes I use fresh spinach or just mushrooms or everything mixed together is the best then grill or pan fry a nice medium rare tuna steak or salmon and lay it right on top of the salad and feast . It looks and taste amazing extra sesame seeds and lemon on the fish .
