Stray dogs use to be a thing until the mid 80's. Than cities clamped down due to bites & too many strays damaging property. Seems a lifetime ago, gawd dang I'm old, eh?!🤣🤣
What a great idea though to have a house dog that you have sleep with you during your stay! I would certainly be game!! Nothing better than sleeping with my fur-grandbabies!!
Ya, that voice. So feminine but so tonally rich and measured, perfect diction. I don’t mean this in any perverted way but this is the first time I’ve ever heard a woman merely speak that made me think, “wow! what a sensuous voice!”
🤔😎 I'm going to say it... DC's voice sounds relatively similar to YT channel creator Kirsty Skye. 🤣😉 They definitely provide amazing & original true crime content. 🤩🕵🏼♀️👩🏼💻
I love your channel. I swear you have the clearest Scottish accent I've ever heard, mind you my only close Scot pals are Glaswegians. Love from Portsmouth 😘
It's intriguing to hear these old stories, but sad. So many times in the story I kept thinking "all they need is forensics & DNA evidence!"...and knowing there was no such thing at that time.
Francis’s cause of death were described as “heart attack from shock and head injuries.” There was a broken bottle involved, wish we knew whether or not glass was found in her scalp. Im not sure where the strangulation theory came from, but if she had been strangled with a wire, it would have cut into her neck after a bit of force and blood would have sprayed everywhere; There was NOT much blood present at the scene as described. Some blood from her head injury where she lay and some blood in a hallway. A ‘heart attack’ may really be an expression of not a literal heart attack but the fact that despite her head injuries and burns from fire, she was unharmed. With layman intuition, I think Francis’s death stemmed from argument (STD related? Plausible. Debt related? Also plausible.) The attack was intended to give her a beating out of anger, not to kill her. After the attack (bottle or otherwise) and Francis didn’t wake, there was panic and an attempt to disguise evidence with the fire. However, evidence could point to several potential perpetrators. Maybe it was indeed her husband; Tbh ‘8 years to recover’ sounds like BS, perhaps it was her husband that gave it to her all those years ago? Could definitely start an argument if he showed up at her bar. On the other hand, it could have been the stranger; Who knows how he would have reacted to STD information, even if he hadn’t had consensual contact with her. Perhaps it was as small as being drunk and refusing to pay his tab for having stayed at the inn for multiple days; Or as heinous as having targeted her from the start, carefully selecting jewelry items as trophies (would explain having left expensive items behind like her wedding ring.) Another potential lead is of course the last person to have seen her alive; employed barmaid Elizabeth Mitchell. Elizabeth provided police with sensitive information about Elizabeth’s sexual relationships, that implies an intimate friendship. Perhaps there was conflict between the two and Francis sustained a head injury in the argument that lead to her death (sometimes a single blow is all it takes.) Idk if Elizabeth would have had the strength to move Francis from hallway to location of discovery, perhaps Francis staggered down there herself before succumbing to a related effect of her injury (TBI, hemorrhaging in the brain, blood clots etc.) She could have died from a trauma related injury Minutes after the initial blow, staggering to location of discovery. So many possibilities, wish more reliable info was available, my head is spinning
Drunken lads who were with her killed her and started fire. Thats my theory. Sad to kill one of your friends because of alcohol no matter how old this story is.
I always watch your videos before bed with a cup of tea on the side of my bed. You have a nice voice and background sound is creepy but awesome! Keep up the good work!.
A lot of staff that night! Did the landlady own the establishment? That's a lot of valuable jewellery she was wearing. The architect involved in her murder? Of course she got venereal disease from one of her lovers! Did she have any children? She sounded like a very interesting woman and more liberated that most women at the time!
Wow DC, I listened to this after one of your old videos and it’s interesting how your accent has changed! You sound ever so slightly more “Americanized” now! Fascinating!
If there is a profilic crime, often some dudes appear and confess. Some want the attention, some are tragic figures who are in a disturbed mental state
Theres a story about a policeman who was killed in Cumbria and the two killers stayed in a local pub called the Graham Arms, Longtown, that might be an interesting one to research?
Muy bien. Estoy aprendiendo espanol tambien. Que cheverre. Soy italiano pero hablo espanol un poco. Yo vivo in los estados unidos. Siga aprendiendo espanol y con suerte.

Encuentro fantástico que quieras aprender español, ojalá sea lo más neutro posible, sino tendrás problemas en las Américas.
A dog 'frequenting a saloon' is just such a comical phrase.

Almost as comical as seeing them play poker.
A Pomeranian to boot
@@Digitalhunny Stray dogs are very much still a thing. I’m not sure where you got the idea that they’re all gone.

I love these old stories. But I would listen to you no matter the story. Thank you for your work.
Me too!!!👍🙏

"he's been foxing me" foxing should definitely make a comeback, cool phrase for sure👌
Thank you for sharing the old cases too. I love the peek into the past 😊
She was ahead of her time, very independent.
Yes she was, independent strong 💪🏼
I love your pronunciation of “person(s)”. I love your accent period, and your videos are well researched and presented.
I love listening to your voice. Your accent is quite lovely. Thank you for the video.
I agree.Irish? Scottish? I'm from northeast Ohio. Love the accent.

@@Lorian7748GenXr: You are correct that they sound very similar...not surprising since they are sisters. 😁
Very interesting case. Thank you for all your hard work putting the episodes/podcasts together and presenting the case Kim USA.
This is a case I'd not heard of and I doubt very much it'll ever be solved. Another great video DC!
Thanks for keeping up with ur channel .. u do amazing work and we appreciate u!
Foxy😂
I'd love to buy up that old place & renovate it, it's too lovely to sit there like that.

Her sister (Kirsty Skye), Little Jane Doe, and DC all sound exactly the same to me 😂

From Mollie Westbrook to DC, it’s a good day
Loved this case. Never heard about it before and that rare for me to find a new case. Thanks for the content!

I know a lot of these comments are complimenting your narration, voice and accent... but that's because it's well-deserved. Charming as fuck, friend!
"Babe, wake up, there's a new Dark Curiosities upload!"
Seeing as you've made a video on the Isdal Woman I'd love to see you do a video on the Somerton Man as well. Its just as weird and confusing

Thanks again for another interesting case.Looks like one of those never to be solved murders.Keep up yer great work...👍👍
She allegedly had a venereal disease that took 8 years to leave her body? In days before penicillin that would indeed be a miracle cure!
Such a great channel! Love the stories and the presentation. Thanks for being here!

Great video! You should do one about the case of Narumi Kurosaki
Love your narrations
Makes me wonder why the guy in New York would confess to the crime, nothing in it for him.
If there is a profilic crime, often some dudes appear and confess. Some want the attention, some are tragic figures who are in a disturbed mental state
That’s why police try to keep some info from the public. It helps filter out the false confessions,
Awesome job! Really good as a video or a listening experience, or both!

Maybe it was a combination of resenting her independence and wanting to take some of her jewellery.
Love your sponsor!! Me encanta el patrocinador de tu vídeo

"..the dog was unharmed.."
Oh thank goodness....😪🙃.
Lol you do plenty of harm yourself, gasp.
As my brother loves Pomeranians he would be happy to know the dog was unharmed.

Someone got away with murder.
After a century had past, the killer probably had escaped justice
Ah but not in the afterlife. For karma always comes back to haunt the people who wronged someone.
