Please please please never change your background music. It's so amazing. Your accent is awesome as well. You definitely earned my sub. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this case, what a story! And let me tell you again what a wonderful voice you have. I'd be happy just listening to you reading the ingredient list off a cereal box...🙏
I love your channel because it's usually cases I've never heard of. Your videos are always well put together, and very respectful considering the circumstances of the what you cover. I always look forward to a new video. :)
This was Really Interesting, and very sad. I'm wondering what became of the little girl that Emma Levin had adopted ? I hope she wasn't sent back to the orphanage.
She was sent back to the poor parents in Lausanne. In this article it seems unclear whether the girl was adopted or a foster child. The victim was of swedish origin, even if having lived at times in Copenhagen, while she should have been arrested for prostitution in her younger days in Malmö before her marriage. www.sydsvenskan.se/2012-02-14/gatflickans-klassresa-fick-ett-grymt-slut
Great job covering these cases. Could you do Keyla Weddel from Medora, Indiana? She was a elementary school teacher who in 1988 was murdered in her home with her kids asleep in the next room.I dont think anyone but the local papers have really covered her case and It needs publicity.
New sub here. Fantastic narration and you cover vintage cases which i haven't heard of before. Would love a collab between you and laura from the paranormal scholar. 2 of the best female narrators on youtube!
15:03 at least one facet of this story made it into a modern film - Papillon (a film very very loosely based on a true story) takes place on Devil's Island.
Even though I'd usually score nightmares off a case like this, I always love listening to you precisely tick off the facts "egg to apple." btw, long ago I read of a murder in which the perpetrator put the body in a suitcase. I was so stunned by this murder that I was sure it was unique in the annals of crime. In the past year and a half, however, I've come to realize that this grisly method is really pretty common 😧
You said that the station clerk was successfully bribed by the couple not to take them to the police but then in the next sentence you said the police didn’t believe their story?
Monte Carlo is home to the rich and famous. The powerful and beautiful.... Royalty. Of course it has the lowest crime rate w only one murder per decade. If you can have anything you want, already have more than you could ever ask for, and have beauty and fame ... there are few reasons to commit a crime. Even a crime of passion due to a broken heart would be rare. With that life of luxury, the world of beautiful men and women would be begging to spend their life with you. If you want for nothing, it’s less likely you will take something.
Mostly just gonna repeat what other people have commented, but; really appreciate these vintage cases that I otherwise would likely never have heard of. There's too many great videos to name them all. The one where the guy was selling pickled human to the villagers during a famine and the one where the lady jumped from the empire state building are among my favourites though. 🍺😃👍

Shes a menace but like also it’s comically delusional to walk into a public place with police 1 meter away and thinking ‘oh yeah nobody’s gonna know, this is an excellent idea” is like something in a movie
Greed will make you do many things even murder. They didn't have to do such a horrible deed as to cut Emma into pieces and dispose of of her like they did. Vere was brave as a drunk to kill Emma but was a coward in taking his own life. Marie and Vere should have been given a harsh sentence by dismembering them as they did to Emma. Let them feel how it was to cut up Emma. So sad that they had to kill poor Emma that way. Why not just kill her by strangulation or shooting her. But to have to do all that they did was overreacting a bit to much
I love the comments fishing for a like from the creators by posting statements "loving" the channel. You see the same people posting these each time a new episode is released.
Haha yeah! Their lives are so empty! The ones I love best are “you uploaded this on my birthday” posts. I got into a spat with someone saying this a while ago cos I said they were sad for trying to fish for birthday wishes off strangers. They insisted they weren’t😂

I'm touched by how good and humble a guy Vere's brother was. A complete contrast to someone who was a wastrel and a murderer.
Yep, nurture cannot explain all differences in character between people. Some people seem to be born different and more evil

This couple gives freshly butchered chicken carcasses a bad name.
A grisly tale of greed. Be well.
What a haphazard crime
I know I always travel with a suitcase of chicken parts. That's totally normal!
Even nowadays, murderers so often blame the victims. "They attacked me so I defended myself" they whine, complete BS. Pair of wastrels.
