Onegin, we are both fans of Leontyne Price. To me, Price is in a class by herself. Her voice was a gift to us all. I think is also true of Jussi Bjorling.
I’m undoubtedly one of the biggest Leontyne Price fans, her Cio-Cio San is one of the best on record. Her interpretation is quite remarkable, and spot on BRAVA!!
She did it to me again. My eyes are watering and nothing is helping. She's not a soprano, she's a dangerous hunting weapon. Mrs. Price, please sing! I want more, I love you.
Exquiste. One of her best roles. One gets goose bumps listening to her. I am glad she sang the introduction/recitative of the aria. Her happy anticipation of that asshole Pinkerton, turns into a reality in "Tutto questo avverrà, te lo prometto, tienti la tua paura, Io con sicura fede l'aspetto." She is addressing Suzuki, who already knows Pinkerton has abandoned her. My feeling is that at this point Cio-Cio San also know. What a Puccini tragedy this is. Bravissima! Her commercial recording from 1962 is excellent. ruclips.net/video/G30xhhZ1h1s/видео.html Leontyne Price--Butterfly Richard Tucker--Pinkerton Rosalind Elias--Suzuki Philip Maero--Sharpless Erich Leinsdorf--conductor RCA Italiana Opera Orchestra 1962

I join you in being one of Leontyne Price's greatest fans. Yes, her Cio-Cio San with Tucker thrills us and, at the same time, breaks our hearts.

And here is clip of a younger Price, in her prime singing Un bel di vedremo: ruclips.net/video/QkUjBzoTO_Y/видео.html

_" One of her best roles"_
Yes, quite so. May be her signature role.
