- Richard couldn't just come all the way to Italy and not drive a Zonda. But this is no ordinary Zonda. This is the Cinque, and goes all the way up to 11. And, when this was filmed, it was going to be the very last one Zonda ever made.

@@sabersz i wish it was different, like back then. Where most people didnt care nearly as much about horsepower, torque, 1/4 mile times or lap times. All that mattered back then was how the car made you feel when you looked at it. How it made you feel when you drove it. Back then most people didnt see cars as a collection of meaningless big numbers, they saw cars as works of engineering perfection.

Mark my words, the Pagani Zonda will experience the same glorious afterlife that the McLaren F1 LM has had once it goes out of production. However, I hope that this car never goes out of production. The Zonda, in my opinion, is based on a very similar formula as the F1 LM. A wonderful chassis, fantastic engine (fantastic German engines in these two cases), and a timeless design equal an unforgettable car.

i noticed how even the rarest zondas appear in Top Gear. Zonda R, Cinque, Tricolore. basically no other reviewed that cars, other than Top Gear. I think their initial review back in the first season really pushed Pagani towards brighter future. And Horacio is just being thankful for that
Also the reviews in seasons 7 in back to back episodes in the comparison with the f430 and GT and the review.

They're still building 1 off Zonda 760's, which are more like upgraded Cinque's, not C12's.

What people are forgetting is this car came out about 5 yrs ago, Zonda's will always be amazing no matter what model, it's just the looks, styling, interior & omg the noise one of the best noise made by a car

Uh, the Huayra desperately needs a facelift if it's to maintain the beauty that this thing had. Does anyone else think the Huayra looks like the Zonda after it retired from being a supermodel? It looks like it's gained weight, and the touchscreen interior with its 2005 style disgusting graphics ruins the whole interior for me. + Kim Kardashian never owned a Zonda so there's a reason why it's cooler.

Pagani Huayra should not be linked to Zonda. They have to separate them! Its more natural to drive a Huayra in front of a 5 star luxury shiny hotel in Paris, dressed with $10K suite, when you can just put some shorts, a helmet, tight gloves and hit the toughest track inside a Zonda and feel the gravity, speed and adrenaline. Even if someone watches you, he would probably feel closely the same only by the noise and body vision!
+eNesto eNero They are actually not linked at all, Horacio Pagani had drawn up BOTH cars at around the same time, but Mr. Pagani wasn't ready to start producing the Huayra, it was too insane of a car to use as a first car for a brand new company. So, he made the Zonda as the first Pagani

7.3 litre V12 engine? and they only got 678 Bhp from a SEVEN POINT THREE LITRE V12?! Thats like saying a boeing 777 only takes 50 passengers... There is a lot more power to squeeze out of that engine.

I'm not a muscle car perso, but doesn't it have something like 625hp?
So much more goes into a car than just power. This cars' suspension, the super lightweight and the chassis are all perfectly fitted and finished to the point where having ONLY 678 bhp works charms for this car. Personally it'd just be a tire spinning tail happy un driveable car if it had more power, I mean the grip in this car is fantastic (I've obviously never driven one but from what I hear it's brilliant)

Ok, ok. I am not siding with any one car. OK?! But I will say is that a hp number is not everything with an engine people. A lot, a whole hell of a lot matters to how an engine moves a car then just it's hp number. Everyone always seems to forget about torque for one thing. But, the biggest thing I've noticed about the fast cars I've driven, corvettes because that's what I like and can actually afford and get my hands on, is how the engine behaves and produces power.
I'm not about to go into details, but just because one engines output number is bigger than another's DOES NOT mean that car is automatically faster. How does the engine rev? At what point does the torque plateau? Where's peak hp? How much does the thing rev? Does it have a mountain of torque at low rpms? Does it not really make much of anything until it's screaming? Turbo? Manual? Four wheel drive, two wheel drive? On and on...
Oh yeah. And if you even manage to get your hands on a fast car, are you even going to have the ability to utilize one cars power better than another's? Chances are you will never be able to utilize any really fast cars potential. So, for the love of god. Quit bickering over which is better and just like what you like. Ok?

+mistreku Also depends where it lost the weight. Rotating mass is far more important to lose versus static weight. I think the ratio is like 1lb lost rotating weight to 20lbs lost static weight to attain a similar benefit.

I never really loved the look of these cars....., I think they're kind of awkward looking....and over priced.
For me the Zonda is absolutely beautiful, far better than the cars they are producing now like P1, Ford GT etc..
