@Lee Brown But the entertainment is from the reaction itself. Not saying they’re wrong for reacting how they would, but some don’t consider it as entertaining.
Nidhogg is tasked to defend the roots of Yidgrassil, which also means the roots Odin used to enforce his curse on Freya. Even if it did retreat, it would continue to prevent them from damaging the roots- to guard them with her life. She CANNOT allow them to destroy the roots, regardless of their intentions. Odin is a clever and manipulative bastard for setting all of this up without instigating her.
@@bunsNpais yeah she does if you walk up to the talking squirrel he will be talking about where the mother is that she never leave her offspring that long I forgot the rest he said
That’s the God Of War version of Nidhoggr. In the original Norse mythology, Nidhoggr is a he, and he does NOT defend Yggdrasil. In fact, he’s actively trying to KILL Yggdrasil by chewing and gnawing on its roots. In some versions he does this because he’s actually tangled up in the roots and is trying to free himself. At Ragnarok, Nidhoggr will fight alongside the Giants against the Gods, and after Ragnarok, he will feed on the souls of evildoers. And he has a particular appetite for the souls of those who have committed murder, rape, and/or adultery.
yes, this is why your idea (10:00) would not work, she would not go away from the roots even if kratos was attacking her, killing was truly the only way sadly, and it sucks cause this poor creature was just doing its job, we all saw all the trouble that we caused ratatoskr after killing her
the way I SCREEEEAMED when I saw Freya turn around, saying 'finally' as she draws her sword, and fucking flash-steps into an epic stabby?!?!? this made me LOVE her. and seeing the root ripping scene. I was left jaw-dropped. brilliant. just. brilliant.
9:41 Maybe because the roots were incredibly difficult to break being that they are of the world tree and a y attempt to do so would cause Nidhogg to go back and attack Freya or rip oven a realm portal to attack with its tail. 5:40 the answer it is because of Odin. Odin knew Freya would find her bindings and if those world tree roots breaks it is nidhogg's job to look after it and eat the root to not overgrow.
I love that this game have many people assisting Kratos in combat (such as Brok, Sindri, Freya, Thrud and most importantly Atreus). Then for Atreus he has Ingrid, Angrboda, Sindri and Thrud assisting him in combat, plus Thor if he counts as an assistant.
9:55 Odin probably made so that the lindworm was forced to remain bound to the root knot he did as when he did with Freya and her forced transformation. As long as the the wyrm remained alive he would return always. So picture this: a spell similar to that of Baldur that kept him alive but with the dragon as long as the roots are knotted.
