I was so proud of Kratos in this moment. He do such a nice thing for Brok, when once he would've just taken the weapon as it was, he pushed Brok's own lesson onto him to help him realise his true worth. Kratos made me so happy in this game. He earned his redemption.

It’s not even just that he uses Brock’s words to reaffirm the blessing. Kratos destroyed a pantheon. He is the epitome of destruction and death. The ultimate warrior. Despite Brock not being whole, Kratos, the God of War from a more powerful pantheon of Gods, asked his brother to bless the weapon he would wield into battle and into ragnarok. Beautiful moment
learning afterwards that because Sindri brought him back the first time he died, his soul was broken and he was denied an afterlife and completely ceases to exist broke my fucking heart.
Knowing just how much guilt Sindri carries knowing what he's done to his brother. And that he'll never be able to see him in the after life. It really is tragic.
Proof of Kratos best signs of character growth. Even the Kratos in gow 4 would have ignored Broks issue. Not only does he support him he lifts him up with the highest of praise.
i love the creation of the spear but i was more impressed on how i get to use it., the devs really did a good job showing how to use the spear and combining the wind, ring and spear into the draupnir really brings it all together
When you think about it, the Spear is the first weapon that truly belongs to Kratos. The blades were forcefully put on him by Ares while the axe originally belonged to his wife Faye. This is the first time a weapon was made for him and using his own blood as a special ingredient for the forging.
Yeah I really liked that part of the scene because it shows when he gave his blood that first it was the symbol of God of War but then the Lady changes it into the Spartan icon, the upward pointing arrow. She's like yeah the Omega, the God symbol, is WHAT you are, but it isn't WHO you are, WHO you are is a Spartan.@@mugsmcratmin6842
Kratos gave the exact reason why I like Brok so much, "He speaks plain" Even if he was a bit crude. Then Kratos respecting him was just the icing on the cake. One of my favorite moments.
you can truly see here how kratos admired brok not only in his craftsmanship but as a friend the once proud spartan kneels to a friend oh how far our boy has come
Another reason Broks Motif is so important is because it’s a reflection of Kratos as well. “The nature of a thing is more important than the form of a thing” describes how even though Kratos is the God of War and supposed to be a God-killing monster in form, it is not his nature to be such, as he has changed. Great writing!
I hope that Kratos gives the Draupnir spear/ring back to Sindri after the events of the game. Maybe having Brok's last masterpiece in his hands will give him a measure of peace and healing.
Honestly all I could was smile like a dork in this scene seeing kratos still ask for broks blessing after he just had a huge revelation and still reminding him what the blessing would mean to kratos was just cool and wholesome
This game showed how much Kratos became human. He treats everyone around him as his family and loves everyone despite still being a hard headed man still

it was actually quite underwhelming as far as the forging goes. when one compares it to Kratos retrieving his blades of chaos in GOW 2018, that scene had far more emotional and narrative weight behind it
I love that playing a second time, you can see how the idea of the spear came to be from the dwarves. How Brok's genius instantly came up with a weapon that could overwhelm Heimdall's senses by using the duplicating magic of the ring. The Draupnir Spear was the perfect magnum opus for Brok as his final weapon.
It crazy how much I love Brok, dude is like the Picasso of blacksmith and he upgrade our weapons for free and care/treated you like family. Well he charge us for some stuff but he was already rich.
i'd probably read one of the comments in other vid that the reason Why Kratos respects Brok is because Spartans really into that.. they have a huge respect in them blacksmiths
The Blades of Chaos were created to bind Kratos to serve Ares, The Leviathan Axe was passed on to Kratos by Faye, The Draupnir Spear was blessed by Brok to protect Kratos’ son
It’s heartwarming that no Man, God or Titan could get Kratos, The Ghost of Sparta, Bane of Olympus, The God of War to Kneel Yet he kneels to a dwarf who the Aesir treat little better then slaves…
There was once a saying among the Spartans: how far are spartas borders the Spartan replies as far as my spear can reach, where are your walls the Spartan replies my shield are her walls.
The writing, the character development, the continuaty of themes and spoken dialogue (form/nature of a thing in this example) and the performance from the actors not just in this scene but in the entire game and GOW4 is something special. Santa Monica studios need ALL the funding for these kimd of titles. After watching Raising Kratos i would have been so interested to see what they had in store for theor original IP title that got scrapped to focus on GOW4. I really want them to continue with the GOW franchise and explore other mythologys but I'd love if they had the funding, people power and expertise to create some more triple AAA original works.

The most depressing thing about broks state is when he dies again, he stops existing altogether cause of sindri bringing him back. A fate worse than death
I’m almost certain that in a future game Sindri will come to us after he finds a way to retrieve the 4th part of Brock’s soul and demand we help him. Which we will of course help him with. Sindri may want to do some underhanded things to get it done and we help guide him down the right path. Then we will try to find his lost spirit and make his spirit whole again. Then Sindri and everyone can say final goodbyes, come to peace with his death, and eventually be able to see him in the afterlife. Sindri and Kratos/Atreus’ relationship will never be the same but maybe that journey could mend it a little. Not sure if this would be a major side quest or main story but they are definitely going to do it.
Sadly this is the final gow game in the Norse mythology so the chances of Brok being brought back or even being able to cross to the afterlife is likely none.
MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD The musical theme that plays, when Brok blesses the spear... Is the same melody that leads the theme of his funeral. Beautiful musical design.
Does anyone else find a kind of strange how ultimately death is a factor across every realm for every creature, but it works differently for each place? Like Kratos died in the first gif of war in Greece, but he managed to climb out of Hades back to the mortal world with no effect, but in the Norse realm, you can lose pieces of your soul since it made of four Separate parts, so does that mean of Kratos now his soul will be divided, since he’s in a different realm?
I hope that the next game doesn't have draupnir in it, for Brok. As he said, may it be put down when its job is done, Heimdalls dead and Ragnorok over.
I’m kind of confused though because Kratos gave his soul to Ares and he even killed himself at one point so how was he able to get the spear in the first place?
