During the first flight scene Kratos punched Thor a lot. During the Ragnarok flight scene Kratos punched Thor twice and held onto him, as Thor released Mjolnir.
Throughout the entire game, I love how we see and think of Odin as a frail, weak, short old man until the end That twist was perfect. Not only do we see why Thor feared his father so much but also the dude was able to wield Mjolnir. IIRC in myth, the hammer was just really, really, REALLY heavy so to see him lift it so casually there at the end is insane Not just that but given his use of many magic tricks that he's picked up, it makes him a decently difficult boss
Odin é literalmente um velho frágil se comparar com os deuses do Olimpo. A luta contra o Fenrir é sozinha mais interessante do que o "pai de todos" que deveria ser o chefe final, o qual o maior perigo é deixar o chão azul.
I had a thought, the weakness is probably the lore accurate version, since kratos don't like gods using godlike power feels like a hand out, you know it's the penguin (From DC Batman) not wanting to take the disabled seat in the train.
Yeah I think this is if he was actually mad like he always was in the first games. Fights drag out longer here cuz he's not fully accessing his power as he doesn't have that same blinding rage
He is lore accurate in the game. He no longer tries to kill everyone and everything and he doesn't have anger issues throughout most of the game like he did back then. And one must not forget that the gods and creatures in the latest two parts are stronger than in Greece.
9:51 I just now realized that Kratos growled at Heimdall. It was both a growl of agreement and a growl of warning. "Yes, this is about my son. Touch him, and I will not be merciful." And then Heimdall stupidly proceeds to threaten Atreus's life. What an IDIOT...
The only thing is Kratos had mentioned in his journal that he wasn't sure if he would be able to defeat Thor. Not saying that Kratos is weak, but Thor was almost his equal.
You have to keep in mind that there’s different kinds of defeats. Kratos CAN beat Thor, but at what cost? Look at what happened with Heimdall. Kratos accesses his strength through rage, and to use enough raw strength to beat Thor, he’d have to be enraged a ton and be careless. The whole reason Kratos even uses weapons is so he doesn’t have to let loose. He can’t defeat Thor, unless he loses his own battle in fighting his past. If he lets go of all his self control just to win a fight, did he really win? Did he really defeat Thor if Thor got exactly what he wanted? Can’t take everything you read at face value. Sometimes there’s deeper meanings behind simple details.
@@brandenmarcum430 Yeah but in the in-game dialogue before the final battle, Atreus also ask what plan he has against Thor since he lost to him. This basically means Kratos at the time wasn't a match
@@Clyde975 yeah, Kratos genuinely lost to Thor. I’m not disputing that. The reason he genuinely lost is because he was holding back. It’s canon that he accesses his strength through rage. To use even half the strength he used to fight the Greek gods, Kratos would have to forgo all that work and discipline just to win the fight. He absolutely can one-shot Thor, but in doing so he would need to be so enraged he would even kill his own son and friends. Kratos has so much control and discipline, that he could NEVER reach that level of strength. So, he needs help, he needs weapons. The whole reason he even used the Draupnir spear was because he didn’t want to let loose. What ended up happening? He ended up killing Heimdall WITH HIS BARE HANDS. Same thing with Baldur. Throughout the first game, Kratos and Baldur seemed equals in strength. They were tossing each other around like ragdolls. But when Baldur was choking Freya, Kratos locked his arm around Baldur and Baldur could do NOTHING. Note: Baldur’s strength did not come from the spell’s protection, which means Baldur was always using his full strength. Same thing with Thor! At the end of the final fight with Thor, Thor is seen practically gasping for air, he’s clearly exhausted and heavily wounded, and there’s Kratos who’s only breathing a little heavier than he normally does, with barely any marks to show for it. Kratos gained more self control throughout Ragnarok and so he was able to let loose without letting go of all his progress.
apparently Kratos's true strength is boundless but if that is applied to a game then there will be no bosses. so in order for us to give a game with boss fights the devs gave us a crap Kratos specially when you play in give me god of war difficulty. still once upgraded properly we beat the shit out of these bosses like its nothing. 😅
