I was in Cyprus when potato's where sold by the Oke.
Today food is cheaper in the UK than in Cyprus, but you can make big savings by buying local brands rather than international. They are as good, sometimes better, in particular beer and wine. As for fruit, NEVER buy imported.
For sure.
For younger readers an Oke was a traditional unit of weight equal to 1.283 Kg.
Hi George, great Videos, keep up the good work, I watched your video on supermarket prices in the South, Is it possible to do a balanced video on food prices in the North (TRNC) please, I know there is no Lidi there (or Aldi), but there are many other supermarkets, we are looking to move to Cyprus but not sure which part yet
OK, but atm the prices are changing there every week, their inflation is a bit crazy.
I also can remember when the cat food pates were 29p. All the cat food has gone up considerably (I have 4 fur babies who just turned up at my door). I always buy Lidl baked beans - very nice.
Yes all pet food up. We feed 30!! Lidls baked beans are the best. Have a good evening.

hope you are both well, enjoyed this vlog, not bad prices in lidl, quick question george, in zorbas by the sea in protaras, do they sell gluten free bread, biscuits, i have been in zorbas before, but i do not remember seeing these products, we are coming back out on the 29 august 23, bringing out my eldest daughter to which is gluten free, her first time in cyprus, and we hope too see you both out and about, hope you can help george on this gluten free lssue, you both take care hope to see you soon.

Is there an organic section in Lidl?
Yes its called the bio range.
Interesting, 7.99 a kilo for chicken fillet in Alpha Mega. Lidl used to be cheap, but now I think they are more expensive than Alpha Mega. I only go for variation now. OMG pizza where 3.99 for 3, now 6.99!!!
I know, mind you before lidl, it was 7 euro for 1 pizza.
