Just got my first kayak but I appreciate this so much. A lot of fisherman don’t have the budget to be on the water every time and this helps them 👊 you’re a real one for this. Keep up the good work
Man I know this is an old video - but all I can say it did help me a lot - I fish weekends most of the time and always looking to get that bite - thanks for taking that walk to the third spot - I knew about it- just didn’t know how the trek was to get to that spot - I watched many of your videos and Mark’s - you guys do an awesome job bringing the action to our screens - tight lines- PuraSal Angler - 🙌🏻
I live in north TX, I hit the flounder the first or second week of December, depending on weather, I wait for that forecast with strong north wind 25+ mph, day temps 40 deg. wind chill 25-30 deg. cloudy day and outgoing tide is best in the morning. We find a bulkhead near a deep channel, use green or yellow chart 3-4" swimming mullet, and dead stick that bait a foot away from the structure. If the water depth is 1-3 ft along the bulkhead that is the best. Note: The wind has to be blowing into that bulkhead, if you are on the protected side, no good, you have to deal with the wind in your face and dress warm. Flounder move in pods and will stage in an area until they are well fed, then wait for the outgoing tide and north wind to give them that last push to the gulf in Dec. These flounder, most of them are full, they do not like to swim or move around willingly when water temps hit the low 60s, fish slow, slow, and use fresh artificial scent to make them budge from the mud.
Myself and cousin have caught monster reds and black drums at the third spot in your video. Amazing spot to fish, especially at night. Caught a 36 inch black drum back in 12/25/2019.
goes with fishing and hunting and just life, you stay on the couch you don't catch anything. you already know your skunked if you talk yourself out of going. thanks for sharing your spots.
Yes, please do more videos on fishing from the shore or bank, These videos are very helpful, because most fishermen do not have access to a boat and there is a lack of information on RUclips about fishing from land.
Retired and moved to League City. Finally finished the house and time to go fishing with my son. Thanks for the starter spots!! Just have a little 9' kayak for now so the bank spots are AWESOME to learn.Keep'em coming! lol THANKS! Subscribed! Cool to see you and Mark together
Really informational I appreciate it.Will be there first of for a week of fishing.Really want thank U and your sponsor's for making this info. possible. Thanks and good luck👍
Crazy I’ve been watching you since the beginning. I always thought I caught you in the middle of all your RUclipss. Love the vids. Rarely miss any. I appreciate the grind of bank fishing and the randomness in your dialogue. Thanks for all the videos!
Great info man! I love the kayak videos but this was a nice change up for sure. These cold fronts blowing through are definitely confusing the fish lately. Look forward to the next video!🤘
2021... you ain’t been out with MDLR in a while. hope yall are still conjovial with each other; but i totally understand not all videos could nor should be collab videos
Thank you so much for the fishing spots, It was great of you to share these locations, me and my son will check it out. I find your youtube videos very informative and well done! I am learning a lot. love your Korean recipes, I have Filipino recipes for fish if you're interested. If you ever had like fishing lessons, me and my son would definitely attend. Thank you for all you do!
Nice video. You guys are decked out in Simms! I’m jelly. One thing you need to add though...a wading belt. Water is calm, you are close to shore, and mark is right next to you....but.....you never know. One thing I’ve learned....life (and mother nature) can throw you some crazy things.
Texas International Terminals is constructing a processing plant for ship bunkers at spot 3. I can see them completely shutting down spot 3 due to security issues once the project is complete.
Hey Nick, thank you for going out there and providing some useful information for us even tho conditions are not optimal haha. I've recently tried the seawolf park wading on both sides and couldn't get a flatty. I also tried the South Jetty spot yesterday on a beautiful day, water was so clear you could see hundreds of mullet..but the tide was getting low so didn't catch anything either. It's always fun trying out new spots. Any tips on optimal weather conditions (wind direction) and is a falling or rising tide better for fishing?
Don't forget the other rock groins along the Galveston seawall. Fish each side of the groin. If your not catching fish and don't see any bait, move on to the next groin. I've been fishing down here for 20+ years. Some rock groins are better than others, but that can change from day to day. You'd be surprised at the fish caught along the seawall. 😀
Hope Angler!! Sharing spots hahaha jk. Love the videos. During the winter in Galveston the specks, reds and flounder head up into the canals and back bays. Brackish water canals our money during the winter. Winter is my favourite time of year to fish because they go up into the canals and you can catch tons! Great time for bank fishing and kayaks up into the canals. Try it out. You will be amazed at the numbers you can catch casting toward the banks up down canals in the winter. Hope this helps someone catch some fish. Good luck guys!Keep up the videos!!
That moment when you think you felt a bump and end up staying another 4 hours only to realize that maybe your lure hit an oyster reef. I think we’ve all been there 😂😂😂 Nevertheless, thanks for sharing these spots, hopefully this will make it easier for others to take the jump and start this awesome sport we call catching (fishing)!
Thanks nick for sharing those spots,I’ve been to all of those except that last spot, anyway great video, you and I have the same illness which is fishing disease,LOl....
I'm 57 n used to live in galveston n worked @ UTMB ,,, n I'm a bonified fishing nut, n your third spot u went to ,, almost made me cry ,, I haven't been to galveston in years n all thar structure in the back ground in your third location was nothing there back in the day,, that wall m those white tanks. , that area was so stacked with flounder you had to hide to bait your hook,,, man wen will man stop with the greed of more n more,,, wow what a tragedy. , ok we no need to go fishing @ galveston all areas have been humanly invaded by dollar signs,,, peace now RUN TO JESUS
If it’s possible can you also do a vid just like this one but for kayak fishing in the marsh. I’m not saying give up your best spots but just some what an idea where can a beginner can start. Will truly appreciate it brother!!!
I like that you aren't embarrassed to show a trip where no fish were caught. It happens quite often to many of us and there's no shame in it.
Some ppl may hate this, but I see you are trying to help others. Good on you bro👍

Just got my first kayak but I appreciate this so much. A lot of fisherman don’t have the budget to be on the water every time and this helps them 👊 you’re a real one for this. Keep up the good work

There’s another wade fishing spot called “the pocket” . There’s a sunken concrete ship out and the trout and black tips run like wild

I’ve seen success with tides that have started.
Have you guys gone back to try those spots again as a follow up video?
Wade fish the backside of Galveston state park! Spec central or fish north jetties about 200 yards on Bolivar fish out to the north for some smacks
Don't forget the other rock groins along the Galveston seawall. Fish each side of the groin. If your not catching fish and don't see any bait, move on to the next groin. I'm going fishing there next time I go home to texas
Have you fished the San Luis pass?
I am beginner at saltwater fishing so will a simple fish finder rig with a bit of shrimp or cut bait at the end be a good rig for all species??

Where are you parking to fish the Seawolf bridge?
What kind of reel are you using
