What you can't see can hurt you. Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy scientist, Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding. But when her abusive ex suddenly dies, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of eerie coincidences turns lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia's sanity begins to unravel while she desperately tries to prove she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.

Such brilliant scares in the opening, which is what makes it one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. Apart from the ending, which I dare not spoil here. LOL Usually, it's ghost stories that get me in horror movies. And while they're still scary in their own rights, nothing compares to the horrors of escaping the living hell that is a narcissistically abusive relationship. Who needs monsters and ghosts when there's a demon already possessing the human sitting next to you? Just escaping that kind of person is a terrifying thrill ride in and of itself.
