Safety is the most important thing in raising a child. And guess what, China's respective department in charge of this has this a priority at heart! ❤❤🥰
I am in GuangZhou. I understand you don't want to put your kid under too much pressure. In fact, the pressure of the child mainly comes from the parents. If the parents can deal with the relationship with the child wisely, this is not a problem. Children can grow faster in a stressful environment, as long as the pressure is within the right range. It's up to the parents.
There are always people who attack China with the lack of internet freedom, but the reality is that in China, if you want to know the world as an adult, you can browse the world network at any time, and no one will stop you. The only requirement is that you don't publicize those extreme contents.
Pingduoduo is traded under the name of Temu in the UK and I have been buying inexpensive things from them in the past year rather than Amazon. Temu is generally at least 1/3 cheaper than amazon.

You can still live in China even your kid grows after 7 years old. You can choose international school, their educational system is different than domestic school, will be much closer to your ideal way.
I like that my kid is safe, good education and so on. I agree with you about getting goid grades 100 or 90 % all the time. My son personally, I don't even bother to check on his grade as long as he maintain a above average grade and enjoy the part of being a teenager. He once asked me if I will force him to be a Doctor, my reply, no. Do whatever you like and enjoy your youth, but remembet, nobody succeed in life without proper education. So in other words I force him to go to college, right now. He had no say about that...😂😂😂😂

I've been so lucky that my mother never asked me to be the best or even "better than the average". Always had a lot of freedom how to organize my time, and as a fact my studies went not that bad I'd say! International schools in China are not so stuffed with books. Grades oriented education is only applied to local kids who go to a local school not an international one. And if your kids want to go to a Chinese University, just remember don't give him a Chinese nationality. A foreign passport makes it really easy to get in a brand university in China.
Yep Chinese children are really stressful, when they are in senior school they always study for 14h per day and sleep 6h, because Chinese university have higher bar for Chinese Student. You can learn in International school and apply university all over the world to avoid compete with millions of Chinese students in GaoKao. Luckily I have graduted and i hope to raise kid in somewhere more relax. As native i hope to explore some other country lol.

As you have emphasized, children need a balanced lifestyle for development. If a child is not going to survive in the "rat race elitist" environment in China of 1.4 billion(?) the child can still be educated in China and not necessarily excel in academic studies and exams but engage in physical and sporting activities as well. When the child grows up, if he/she cannot gain entrance into a higher educational institution in China, they can always enrol in one in another country. Emphasis must be explained to the child that excelling in academic studies is not necessary nor the ultimate objective but a rounded education and self development. Living in an environment like China enables the child to be exposed to the prowess of the country's people's ability to innovate, resilient and competitiveness and industriousness to continuously improve and catch up and stay ahead. These are good attributes for children to be exposed to and inculcate.
Beside social media, there is another reason. Westerner get used to take medication for depression, anxiety or insomnia. Those offer side effect, suicidal tendencies
I love what you said about china and how great it is , but i have to inform you that marijuana is not a gateway drug that is just biased rumors. marijuana and hemp actually are used to get people off addictive drugs etc and marijuana does the same thing that causes you not to smoke too much weed as well.
If you teach in China, you should know kidnapping and selling kids to poor villages is very common in China. That is why every child needs to be picked up by grand parents as parents are busy working 996, to keep them away from kids smugglers.
Hello Lizzy, All are good 😂🎉😊 But The bad thing living in China is the wages is not good enough to spend outside China 😅. Also , China is a family centre and loads of people everywhere day time and night time . If you are anxious people around you it might not suit you . All the best !
Really? If what you claim is true, then why there are so many Chinese visitors around the world across different countries with high spending powers? As you know China having 1.4 billions population, it is normally to see many people
Australia has the most competitive secondary graduation examination of two years, of all countries. Very competitive. And yes , most of high scorers that are rising criteria are Chinese students. But it is not a bad thing. It does not affect daily life as you are imagining. My children are now 31 and 35 having their children, finished degrees in sciences, played piano and had plenty of outside and friendship time, even worked long hours for pocket money. I see china has a lot of kids on playgrounds and amazing sport facilities in schools. I think you are making an exaggeration of how schooling is from the point of a parent view , not your job position. It is all normal. It just goes a day at a time and it is normal. And kids do like education as well, it is not something they resist as unpleasant experience. So what I want to say basically is that you are more scared of parenting a school kid than what it ever gets so overwhelming.
I am currently living in Vancouver, trying to get PR. And I am kind of regret being here. Everything is much much worse than Shanghai. Totally different world.
I would raise kids there for sure. Super safe, so many beautiful parks for children, so many amenities for kids on every corner. But what I don't stand is education in China where children in public schools don't have childhood at all. There is constant pressure do learn more and more and every minute of free time after school kids use for extra math, science, language classes. I dont want that for my kid. Then there is another option if you live in bigger cities and that is private school. But they are crazy overpriced in China. Like the average one is more than 30k euros per year...at that is the school where you have at best mediocre teachers. In Dubai best of the best private school cost less than 25k euros and teachers are absolutely amazing(so you know what you are paying for). Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai is less that 100k dirham(25k euros) and kids are learning French, German and of course their science class is top notch.
It's much safer & family friendly to raise kids in China than it is to raise kids in say America, UK. Streets are way more safer, to walk wihh kids any time of the day in China, more safer than UK, USA hands down. Education for kids in China is very good, you have numerous international schools there, like in Singapore. So education is very good in China, because we in China actually value our education for the youths. We also value teachers in China much more than western countries do. Teachers in educational institutions aren't treated very well in the west. Especially in UK, numerous teachers strike over pay etc. In fact there's been numerous workers strikes in UK in different sectors, not just education, so this shows UK system doesn't work, it's badly managed by incompetent politicians in UK, but in China, it works, it's not perfect but it works.
Dear fellow readers, Of course you can move to China and raise your children there. Who am I to forbid you to do that, let alone be able to? However, you should bear the following points in mind: 1. to move to China, you need a well-paid job to obtain a residence permit. "I'll look for a job locally", "I'll do something with business or become an English teacher" or "I'll live off my savings" will not be accepted. 2. the work permit must be renewed every year, and therefore usually also the employment contract. 3. most expat jobs are tied to local employment contracts. This means 5, maximum 15 days holiday per year. No employee rights, working late into the evening and sometimes at weekends. 4. kindergarten and school are NOT free in China! There is a strong demand and correspondingly long queues for good schools. Foreigners have a particularly hard tim in this regard. But even Chinese often have to pay bribes to (perhaps) get a place at a good school in the end. 5 In China, children study late into the night. In primary school at the latest, there is a distinction between "stupid" and "clever" children. After school, kids learn musical instruments or foreign languages and do their homework in the evening and then go to sleep. That`s about it. 6. Due to the reasons mentioned in point 5, children generally have no free time, no social contacts and therefore no friends until adulthood. This makes it correspondingly difficult for them to find their way in society or even abroad later on. 7. there are hardly any leisure facilities such as playgrounds, swimming pools, etc., especially for younger children. Larger shopping malls often have play areas with childcare, but these are usually very expensive (200 RMB or more per day per child) 8. there is no state support for children in China. In Germany, for example, the government pays the equivalent of 2000 RMB per month to parents for each child, in Mongolia (yes, China's unknown northern neighbour) it is the equivalent of 400 RMB per month and around 3000 RMB for each child born 9 To avoid many of the problems mentioned above, private or international schools are still available in Tier1 cities. However, these are often BLOODY expensive and are not funded by the employer. 10. the cost of living and rents in the attractive Tier 1 cities are no longer so low, especially if you don't want to give up your western lifestyle. If you want to eat simple Chinese food and live on the outskirts of a Tier 3 city without infrastructure or underground connections, it is of course still much cheaper than in Western countries. Don't underestimate the language barrier! Pay attention to changes in legislation, especially with regard to entry permits and residence permits. Apart from all that, China is of course an interesting country with great landscapes, modern architecture, delicious food and (don't be fooled by the wumao haters!) mostly friendly, optimistic people. The only question is whether it is the right place for foreigners to bring up their children. China is more recommendable as a holiday destination or, if you really want to work there, for childless couples. Noooo, nothing here with BBC, CIA bot or "never been to China". I lived there for a total of 8 years - with children!
@@VerkaterterStiefel Ah... Thank you for the information. Though I am not a westerner, I'm Chinese myself, but I was born overseas. My ancestral home is Guanhzhou. With inconsistent standards between rural areas and the big cities, the health care system in China has been rated as 144th in the world by the World Health Organization. The country spends 5.5% of its GDP on health and has a relatively low number of doctors (1.6 per 1,000 population).
You can investigate the international schools when your child is ready to go. They don't have such a pressure than the government schools regarding 100% achievement. I can speak out of personal experience.
what I observe is a kid raised in China can easily adopt life in the west, kids raised in the west can hardly move to' China when they grow up. And there is a big gang in China, why it is so save.

Living in an environment like China enables the child to be exposed to the prowess of the country's people's ability to innovate, resilient and competitiveness and industriousness to continuously improve and catch up and stay ahead. These are good attributes for children to be exposed to and inculcate.
Completely agree. This is the approach that I would take as well.
I also agree, there are too many people in China. Too many college students.😢
I think Russia is between. For special interesses special schools.(Sport or music)
Homeschooling is possible too.
You pinned it right on the dot. Australia is not a good choice.
The best is in China.
Salamat po Lizzy 🥰 💞💝
I saw you got a wedding ring on your right hand.
👍👍👍
Yes Chinese children need to do more sports and outdoor activities. Education is important but health and mental too.
Beside social media, there is another reason. Westerner get used to take medication for depression, anxiety or insomnia. Those offer side effect, suicidal tendencies
Can't agree more.
Why tanks in the preview image? 😅
you are so lucky family.
nice..
I love what you said about china and how great it is , but i have to inform you that marijuana is not a gateway drug that is just biased rumors. marijuana and hemp actually are used to get people off addictive drugs etc and marijuana does the same thing that causes you not to smoke too much weed as well.
The drug dealer is fooling you
U.S. HAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE MEDICAL INSURANCE IN THE WORLD
but the quality is questionable haha
My friends and I cannot afford insurance here in the US.
I agree with everything except for drug free policy. All drugs should be legalized to be taken off from the black market and regulated by govt.
❤❤❤POWER TO THE PEOPLE ❤❤❤
I completely agree with your view points
Good culture to rise children in china...filial pity🙏👍
If you teach in China, you should know kidnapping and selling kids to poor villages is very common in China. That is why every child needs to be picked up by grand parents as parents are busy working 996, to keep them away from kids smugglers.
Hello Lizzy,
All are good 😂🎉😊
But
The bad thing living in China is the wages is not good enough to spend outside China 😅.
💪💪👍👍✌✌Bravo
If you don't care about your child's academic performance, your child also can have a lot of fun in public school.
❤❤❤❤❤i love you
Say very well
It's much safer & family friendly to raise kids in China than it is to raise kids in say America, UK.
Dear fellow readers,
Of course you can move to China and raise your children there. Who am I to forbid you to do that, let alone be able to?
However, you should bear the following points in mind:
1. to move to China, you need a well-paid job to obtain a residence permit.
Larger shopping malls often have play areas with childcare, but these are usually very expensive (200 RMB or more per day per child)
8. there is no state support for children in China. In Germany, for example, the government pays the equivalent of 2000 RMB per month to parents for each child, in Mongolia (yes, China's unknown northern neighbour) it is the equivalent of 400 RMB per month and around 3000 RMB for each child born
9 To avoid many of the problems mentioned above, private or international schools are still available in Tier1 cities.
One day, I would like to go visit my ancestral homeland, maybe even move there one day. I'd love to see other parts of China too, like Hangzhou, Yunnan.
As a student, learning is the most important thing. Happy education in Europe and the United States is that capitalists are fooling people at the bottom
👍👍👍👏👏👏
In the USA when you say the same thing to ppl, the only response you get is they tell you you have no balls you worry to much you afraid of everything
With inconsistent standards between rural areas and the big cities, the health care system in China has been rated as 144th in the world by the World Health Organization. The country spends 5.5% of its GDP on health and has a relatively low number of doctors (1.6 per 1,000 population).
❤
You can investigate the international schools when your child is ready to go. They don't have such a pressure than the government schools regarding 100% achievement. I can speak out of personal experience.
Your English pronunciation is such great
what I observe is a kid raised in China can easily adopt life in the west, kids raised in the west can hardly move to' China when they grow up. And there is a big gang in China, why it is so save.
