    Love his accent & an excellent video showing the whole process of taking off & replacement if the new seal 👌. Shouldn't you take off the reminants if the old seal before putting the new one on??

      Haha, thank you! 😊 I'm glad you found the video helpful, even though it wasn't originally intended for RUclips.
      You're absolutely right, it's essential to remove all remnants of the old seal before installing the new one. Using warm, soapy water to clean the door liner is a great tip as well.
      After installing the new seal, I highly recommend using a hair dryer to heat it up and ensure a proper seal. Simply warm it up, close the door, and let it cool down for optimal performance.
      If you encounter any difficulties or have further questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to assist!
      Warm regards, Brett.

      Ben, did you glue the seal? I am thinking of replacing a chest freezer seal that is glued in too.
      If you used glue. Which glue did you use?
      I think I will have to glue as the lid is horizontal not vertical.

    Thanks for the video, searched high and low for door seal replacement on a hoover fridge freezer and nothing out there but it appears this is probably what I'm dealing with. Will add a small amount of glue to the seal though especially on the closing edge, just to be sure.

    If when putting on…. The corners separate on the seal, what can be used to reseal? I had replaced one and it has gathered some meltoff and has ice in it (which is keeping the seal open, which we see a lot of frost).

    when you install a new one that previously had some sort of adhesive, should you use any adhesive as well or just fit it without?

      For me personally, i either screw self tapping screws underneath the seal to clamp the door liner down OR i dont do anything and the door liner is tight enough to hold the seal down firmly. I have put super glue behind before but if you dont know what you're doing it can turn out looking bad. self tappers are good because they can be easily removed or replaced.

    I have a zanussi (electrolux owned) with the same idiotic system of holding the seal, except mine would not pop out. Does anybody know what to do? I was thinking to try a paper cutter inserted behind the seal to unglue it, or even a heat gun. I have a universal seal replacement, which is composed of 2 parts so it should be easier to install than a full door one.

    • @FridgeSeal
      @FridgeSeal  Год назад

      Same method for the bottom? Open the door first, heat bottom of the seal - then close door and should be fixed.
      Otherwise you might need to use a little more heat when closed under the fridge, or use your fingers to stretch the seal out and hold it in place for a few minustes.
      Or peel the seal back and put something underneath it so it raises in that area.
      many ways to fix.
