- A while ago I released a video that talked about additive and multiplicative damage and how the difference between the 2 can impact your DPS. Ultimately I wasn't very happy with that video for a variety of reasons, so today I wanted to give it another shot.

Your editing is ridiculously, absurdly, astonishingly beautiful and organised, might I ask, what editing software you use? Those smooth transitions and "text popping" effects, are those presets? or you do them manually? Where did you get the skill icons PNGs? You also 'cut' them yourself?
One more thing, the Borda font you use, did you bought it? Or there's a free version somewhere?
I'm 90 percent sure he uses Adobe premiere

you use motion 2. that is not considered manual.

Thumbs up! I didn't watch the whole video. I only watched the first 4min. Although a negative about the vid is that this could have been explained in the first minute rather than after a few minutes of nonsense. This is the best explanation of additive/multiplicative I have seen. And I have seen some idiotic explanations on YT and Reddit that do not clearly explain it.

So returning player because 1.8 seems so great. This video is a huge help. I'm not sure if i'll ever get down to the exact numbers to try and optimize the heck out of a build since boo math aha. Nice. Getting back into the division after a long time away and this is very helpful.
Re: Brutal “being the worst talent” on marksman rifles - even though the buff isn’t quite 12% as it’s labeled, it’s an easy condition to meet for sniping. You’re going for headshots, it’s not just “damage to elites” like Ferocious, which is a small slice of the enemies faced. Same with Competent: it’s conditional on using a skill like Pulse - only once it’s on cooldown, you’ve lost the buff.
The thing with sniping is you’re always going to aim for headshots, so making them even 4-5% more lethal is still going to be better than “extra damage if you used a skill in the past 15 seconds.”

Extremely informative. Thanks Marco. I’ve been losing so much potential on my builds not taking advantage of the damages that can be multiplied. I always assumed they all buffed in the same manner. Are there other talents/attributes other than damage that work the same way with regard to addition/multiply?

Sorry I tuned you out I've had 4 mini strokes and my information retention is not the same this seems like a lot of words so I just said okay nevermind tuned out but it seems very informative if you could just break this down a little bit more for someone who's part windowlicker like me hahaha thank you for your understanding I'm understanding the gear part but what you're talking about is even more detail of what I just barely learned about the gear sets and having more than 3 or the full set I'm a returning player when it was just 1. 5 or 1. 8 I love the customization of all the AR's and lmg's and how you can use them each very different from other Tom Clancy' games almost too much detail however it's crucial information on how to be a better PVE or PVP player and we can link up in a session that would be great I've learned a lot from you and lyrical and a couple of others thanks so much for the info and how to you made the game fun for me again

tbh the thing is you told that you would explain and thats great i mean for those ppl who dont know about such thing and dont care about min maxing starts thats really usefull vid cos its really explais a lot for them
but for example im new player i played for like 40h and the problem is i just dont know what the other mod options on weapns for example so you actually should past what the best things to pick like priorities cos most of the time you just cant get BIS weps

So would you even say in a PvP stand point that you want a variety of all damage such as out of cover, critical, headshot, and weapon damage, but would if be worth it to add one enemy armor damage for multiplier or would that not be sufficient anyways? Again just for PvP.
Slap all that together into a program and submit it to a Division companion app or a website would make the min/max people very happy.

good video Marco, only thing I don't like is when calculating Striker stacks is it is near impossible to keep it at 100. When I did the calculations for my PvE striker build I just negated the stacks as was and look at it as it can only improve from there.

Is there a chance you would be willing to make a similar video explaining damage mitigation and resilience in the same way and why additive is more important than multiplicitive when stacking for toughness.
Nice video. Concise, to the point and informative. One question though, the Ambusher talent on the UMP: does that fall into the additive category with damage out of cover, it's own category, or additive with a different category?

It seems the 5% Damage increase for each mark on non classified sentry is also multiplicative for each mark. so the total damage increased after 3 mark is 15.7625% rather than 15%
Hey marco great video but to make it easier for players to do their own calculations do you think you could make a table or chart that tells us what buffs give additive and which give multiplicative so we can use the table you made in the video to calculate our damage? Keep making awesome videos!
