Just returned from Sharm - we took Ras Mohamed tour after 10 yrs and it was day and night. 10 yrs ago there where only several boats and we where allowed to go on our own, currently we had to stick strictly to the group. I am certified freediver so it was really fun to swim with long fins together with no swimmers. Hundrets of people, poor visibility. White Islands where overcrowded as well. Last stop was missing because everything was delayed :D So Sharm is changing, I had best experience in Dahab to take private tours from locals (no travel agency, just talk to people and find ones who will do the trip for reasonable price according our needs). Probably better option is to go by car directly to Ras Mohamed on your own or with some local guide :)
We did the white island but we did a private day trip which whilst expensive, was absolutely amazing. 2 of us on a huge yacht. The white island you showed, you were clearly unlucly as when we went, there was hardly anyone there, but that was due to the fact we were one of the first boats there, plus the sand bank was there
@@giggsandbiggs I was told the sand bank comes and goes depending on the wind and currents.I’m glad you got to see it. I did some diving this year in a small group of 6 around Ras Mohamed and it was far more enjoyable than the huge group you get on the tour boats
Yes I know it comes and goes, but its a shame the tour operators sell you an island when they know it's not there, I would have much rather spent more time at Ras Mohamed snorkelling than wading over a barren submerged sand bank
Sharm el sheikh and Ras Mohamed is such a beautiful place!!! I'm going for the second time with my family. Tbh it just sounds like this guy is so ungrateful. Maybe you didnt do your research before the trip but there's the online world to help you book so you don't be disappointed by the smallest of things. Like for example the White Island like its anyones fault the sea water has risen. In life there are things out of your control. Relax and enjoy the holiday. Seems like you're missing the point.
@@imranisbad glad you had a nice time I agree with you regarding tipping. It should be for good service over and above not just doing what your paid to do. Having said that many guides go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. I have made Sham el sheik an annual pilgrimage now as I love the diving there so much
I thought Tiran Island was much better than Ras Mohammed, more fish and better coral. The day we went to Tiran Island we only saw 3 other boats. Ras Mohammed had boats and people everywhere, a lot of the coral had also been smashed by careless tourists. White Island was a waste of time. I would have rather spent more time on one of the reefs at R.M. I paid $25 per person for Ras Mohammed and $20 per person for Tiran Island. If you need to hire snorkelling gear hire it at the harbour, not on the boat. Everything is more expensive on the boat. If your not a diver and want to try it, book when you make the booking, they should charge $10 while on the boat they charged me $20 for my 12 year old son. And finally don't for get to take a towel. The boats won't let you up stairs or inside if your wet. I was told they were charging $35 for towels at the harbour. There was ample free food and drink on both trips.
Hi Andrew brilliant video, thanks very much, can i ask what camera you used and who did you book your trips through, we were looking at ras & white island but having second thoughts, we arrive mid june Thanks Nick
Hi Nick. I used a GoPro Hero10. I was particularly blown away by the quality while filming on the quad bike. The camera shook so much that it kept falling off the front rack yet the video is perfect. Used the same camera underwater ruclips.net/video/wqYx5pUeCpY/видео.html I booked the boat trips through a tourist excursion shop called Dream Safari opposite the Amphoras Beach Hotel in Hadaba district. He had a printed sheet with all the prices on. I booked the quad bikes in a shop in Naama bay and he was trying to charge double what dream safari were charging. Dream Safari told me afterwards that White Island appears in the hottest months of the year July / August. The Dive shop told me the best time to visit Ras Mohammed for diving is December / January as very few tourists. The snorkelling and diving was better at Tiran Island but I'm glad I went to Ras Mohammed. Andrew
The most annoying video, for every few minutes feeling the need to whine about literally anything. Some people should stay at home. Spend more money and book private everything should be the solution. Typical Caucasian people.
Just came back from sharm lovely people , can’t help but feel the friendliness is because of tipping tho so always had that in my mind which made excursions always a little 🤏 uneasy at the end. I will always tip but won’t just because it’s customary I feel tipping is earned through sharing knowledge and help fullness . Not when they suggest to tip . I tipped a lot but one time our guide didn’t speak at all until the end of the trip suggesting us to tip I didn’t and he called after us asking why. The place sharmelshake is very cheaply thrown together as held together by cab drivers driving 140 kph on their phones . I much preferred my hotel rixos than being outside of it
Absolutely, while Sharm El-Sheikh boasts some stunning hotels, there's a whole world to explore beyond their walls! If you steer clear of Naama Bay, which can feel like a tourist trap, you'll find the Old Town offers fascinating sights. Plus, the diving and snorkeling here are truly world-class-an experience not to be missed!

Thank you for the honest reviews. Basically, don’t have too high of an expectation and be prepared.
@@RedsLIV hope you have a nice time
Superb that. Lots of info and great underwater video.
Thank You - The next video will be about snorkelling & diving from the resort beach.
About the "White Island" sometimes you really have the "islands", it all depends on the time of the day, if whether the tide is high or low.

Amazing video
