That taxi driver was actually shocking oh my god. The thought of being in the back of a car where the driver is texting on the phone... Horrifying

We were at a river in Brunei looking for a boat to take us on a tour. I had lots of men approach me but I saw this guy parked quietly at the side and approached him, asking about his price. He was very reasonable and was the best tour guide we could have had. I learnt that it's better not to be in a hurry but to observe and use your best judgement.
The best thing about hotels in sharm el sheikh is that the hotel rooms are usually spread out over big beautiful garden areas instead of being in one big building, or they just have big spacious pool areas. I loved walking through the gardens to get to the pool and beach area, or when heading to the main building to eat. It's just a shame that everyone there always seems hostile or corrupt or as if they're trying to get something from you

Will never go there again. Went with a female friend - she spent the entire time afraid and upset by hassle from locals. Incredibly unpleasant, I had to square up to a few blokes there just to get them away from her, and I'm not an aggressive person, far from it. Wanted to come home 3 days into it. There's far better countries nearby to go to for a "lock in" holiday if that's what you're after.

I have to hand it to you, this is among my favorite channels on RUclips. You do such a great job.
It must take a long time to set your camera up and walk away, then walk back. You do it so nicely I don't stop to consider it often, but when I do I'm impressed. It really must be a long travel day.
The Terminal is the Tom Hanks movie where he is suck in an airport. I watched it for the first time on our flight home from Edinburgh last September. It made for a good in-flight movie.
One of the best travel bloggers and as much as it would be a pain on the day, those delays and dodgy taxi drivers do make good content. Room looks good and as long as you get the sun those loungers outside look welcoming for a lazy afternoon. Looking forward to your next video Tim, enjoy.

We go to sharm all the time are due back in september
The people in Egypt are genuinely friendly (not fake) and will do anything for you!!!
I go to the coral sea holiday village and its amazing and the swim pools are proper swim up pools 🤣 (yours is definitely not a swim up one).
I usually take Euros (Left over from cape verde) or English pounds as the Egyptians will take this but prefer american dollars because of the exchange rate i think.
I can’t comment on taxis as we go all inclusive through TUI.
Alot of people complain about the airport on the way back home because of there are lots of checks but they are only doing there job and keeping people safe.

OMG i saw your flight take off! I was watching a live stream of Gatwick when they said it had been closed due to 'drones' but the camera guy zoomed in and we could see it was birthday balloons that had somehow gotten loose.

2005 was the last time I was in Egypt. Organised a bus transfer from the airport to avoid the taxi rip off. Elsewhere negotiation on taxis was straight forward and a bit of fun.

Happy memories of Gatwicks South terminal. Back in the day we'd take the Virgin Atlantic service VS015 (if I remember rightly) to Orlando on the good old 747 Jumbo jet.
We'd stay at the Gatwick Hilton the night before which is right at the terminal to start the holiday off in style....Happy days 😃

1:40 the travellators always sounds like they go a beat. 1:52 Gravity issues there Tim. 2:50 So much Gin, So little time. I Had a taste of the Colada of few when shopping. 3:35 DMF Coffee Rum is nice. 4:20 The Terminal was based on Mehran Nasseri who spent 18 years in a airport till his death November 2022. 6:45 There is that beat again of an travellator. 17:00 Your room looks a hotel room I had on Holland. Use South Terminal a lot, travelling to & from Larnaca, usually in the middle of the night when everything's shut though!
Love the look of the room. Last time I was on a plane was during covid when I was flying down to Birmingham from Edinburgh to goto Nuneaton to visit the boyfriend and was on easyJet as flybe had went bust the first time and there was only ten of us passengers on the easyJet plane.
I know it sounds weird , but I love airports,sit down grab a coffee and watch the world go by.

I’ve always wanted to visit Egypt with the fam but the cheapest flights I’ve come across are with wizzair and there not the best for schedules

One thing I do to speed up time at security is to pre-pack my carry-on liquids in a plastic bag (I have many lying around from various flights lol) and putting that at the top of my hand luggage. So then all I need to do is to take it out before going through security and pop it back after. It saves a lot of time I find.
Great video Tim. I liked the views from the window from the plane nice room . I found a chocolate bar in the mini bar in our hotel room in Maderia gosh it was expensive so next day brought a chocolate bar from a shop Sorry about your rip off taxi.

Nice travel vlog Tim. Have never been Southside myself at Gatwick. Looks very nice and inviting. Shame about the three hour delay though. Hotel stunning the room reminded me of a Britannia almost. RIP off on the taxi fare though and I have heard about these stories with the taxi drivers. A bit off a walk to the pool considering it should have been right outside your balcony but I guess a little walk doesn’t do anyone any harm. Impressive 😉👍

Love the airport coverage but you can keep Egypt. We complain about our taxis but at least they are inspected and taken off the road if they don’t comply with safety regs. I felt really nervous for you.
my sister was taking a taxi to run errands in Cairo the other day and she kept sending me messages throughout the ride about how she's terrified and wants to get out. She said young drivers are surprisingly worse than old ones, and that the particular driver on that ride was 'whipping it like he's suicidal'. the man couldn't be bothered to strap on his own seatbelt 😬
We don't have to take liquids out of hand luggage at my local airport anymore . I think it's called a travellator not a conveyor.

Have Britannia ventured in to Egypt, as that room had the same layout as a one of their "hotel" rooms. It even looked like a Premier Inn!
Tim I've been to sharm el sheikh before it's beautiful there. Shame about that taxi driver that's kinda scary oh dear, and the flight being 3 HOURS DELAYED that's ridiculous i would have been very abboyed. I didn't stay in the same hotel as you though haha but not far i dont think. My hotel was lovely and your room looked lovely as well. The view is also beautiful.

That must be one of the longest Easy Jet flights.I flew from Paris to Cairo a few years ago and there was enough time for a reasonable nap so guessing at least 4 hours in the air.

1:40 It's a flat escalator. If you have a heavy bag, don't wear it as much as possible, like where there's seating you can put it down.

It’s a very high end hotel but still affordable, rixos sharm and rixos seagate are fantastic hotels, ultra all inclusive and a larger water park included in them. A huge pity you didn’t end up there. We had our fingers crossed when you announced you were going to Egypt! 😂 it’s one of the top 100 hotels in the world.
Looking forward to this, never been to Egypt. Hotel looks nice, taxi looked bad though, thought the door was going to fall off in your hand. They'd probably have the cheek to demand cash for it 🤣 should be interesting regarding the people of the place?
