When he pulled the t&e out the wall I laughed and thought that’s a learning moment for Rueben. Perfect draw wire 😁
As soon as I saw it get yanked out I said oof out loud. Don't feel bad about it Reuben, it's the way we all learned, you won't do it again lol
Haha me too, but great job in the end 👌
Not only you did. My thoughts: You'll have fun getting the new cable in. But that are the learning moments, learning from the mistakes.
My thoughts exactly, got to love a draw wire :)
Same here! I was going nooooooo 😀😀😀
The only thing holding that back wall up, will be Rubens cable, lol.
Reuben will make a bloody good Electrician when he's all done with College😉👊
I kinda hope he has a growth spurt so he doesn't end up doing all the shit jobs in crawl spaces and things like that
As soon as I saw Ruben pulling out that old cable out of the old wall, I was yelling at the computer, Noooooo pull in a string at least to use as pull wire when you pull out that old TE cable. 👍🤦♂
Lee you are an inspiration you are very hard working well done
Great job Ruben and for giving it a go with the drill that how we all learn you have great Mentors to help you. Always learning and improving thanks guys ⚡️👊
Great job guys. Nice to see Rubin back at it
Another fine Artisan installation. Nice work.
Keep them coming guys. 👏
Invest in a dust sheet to protect the clients furniture
It was a Christmas miracle the wall didn't fall down, but it soon will, good job lads 👍✔
Oh my god, I remember this house, I fitted the garage door in the background there such a beautiful house
The fellows should be drinking their coffee out of Artisan Coffee Mugs not just any old coffee mug ! That would look great on camera !!
Get some Artisan dust mats, Nick Bundy has a supplier for the ones he uses, and a workbench for Lee.
You have the strangest places for a EICR!!!Man,am i glad that i live as a spark in the Netherlands!Always a normal place to work.Just one cupboard for electricity/cold water/hot water for warming the house/ Gas/TV signal etc.etc..And all 16 amps breakerswitches.
Super neat work guys great job
You boys are keeping me entertained from lockdown in Shanghai. In fact after this I’m leaving to come back home. Pity I’ll be too far north to get you to do an install for me. Keep up the great content. Cheers
@Ruben good tip that i use start to listen to the drill & drill bit with steel and bricks the sound of the drill changes as soon as the bit is ready to pop the brick like wise with steel. Try it...
Ah young padawan Reuben - you're meant to have safety glasses over your eyes 🤔😎😳👀..... Lol. Cracking video as usual!
Great video 😎
Why would you not take the swa straight up through the soffit into the loft save clipping it round neater job.
Well done Ruben
well done guys Lee , Luke and Reuben , (Reuben first angle drilling ? )
Great job all/
10th holiday!! That made me laugh!!
Isn't it time to move to fuse box who do a mini 40amp RCBO and also mini type A DP RCBO?
You guys should look up the tetra system for ladders, would make working up ladders so much safer for you all :) Hope this helps.
Is that the one where you drill a big hole into the customers wall just to secure the ladder.
😂 if the ladder has been put up properly, it shouldnt be going anywhere. No need to be drilling any wall for anchors.
Wheres that grommet strip from guys?
I'm just the apprentice😂😂
Don’t Hager do a double pole RCBO? It’s 2 module spaces, rather than combining a MCB and A Type RCD?
Another great video! Lee is informative and gives some good tips!
Can’t wait for more. Keep it up!
By now you should have the rough guide as to what height to put the chargers.
Haven't changed a consumer unit as yet but this is making me think about doing an electric course.
Well done lads, Lee is a great teacher.
Muito legal
What stage is Luke at? He appears to be supervised similarly to Reuben but appears to be older than being an apprentice?
sallam dari indonesia rouben 🙏🏻
Maybe look at having a "summer" kit, with a lighter colour scheme (say light blue with black lettering) as working in black will be uncomfortable to say the least.
Questions I have .
Would a concenteric cable have done instead of that armoured .
Was a twin and earth really that bad to the outside light .
How long did it take to do the new consumer unit .
And what was wrong with the existing one.
Thanks 😊
Twin and earth isn’t really made for outside use. Over time it will break down and become brittle especially in the sunlight. I would have changed it too, doesn’t have to be armoured even HiTuff flex will do.
Good
Who is filming your work?
nice videos btw
What filler did Lee use to fill the back of the fuse board?
It’s called fire caulk
Intumescent Firestop caulk
Great video but u guy really need to cover stuff with a dust sheet or something all that stuff on that side unit
You never stop learning because when you do it’s time to stop only 40 more years if your lucky Ruben
Reuben is a lad a lot about him
Typical sparks, stood drinking tea door wide open letting all the heat out! 🧠 😳
The most interesting aspect I find with the UK electricians is all the insulation and resistance testing they do. Clean work fellas
yep we never have to do this ( in Belgium ) ..but we do have to call exterinal inspection company to approve the installation and sign off the drawings . ( costs about 120-150 euros )
I actually never seen a uk electrician making drawings of the installation ? is this not common ?
@@kittsdiy Making a drawing of the installation isn’t common practice in the U.K. seems unnecessary
Watching this only for Rubin
I didn't notice an isolator so I guess we had to pull the service fuse.
The seal on the meter is broken (because they were replacing the customer side of the meter tails) so it's possible they just removed the tails live. If you take some precautions (non-conductive steps/ladders, insulated tools, insulating gloves, one-hand rule) you can do this sort of thing safely.
Everyone pulls main fuses and you’d be lying if you say you don’t. Most houses where I’m from don’t seem to have cut off isolators so pulling the main fuse is the only way to isolate tails. I don’t fancy contacting the DNO just for permission to pull out a fuse when it’s something I can do in 30 seconds without having to wait 1-2 weeks for them to get back to you..
is it just me or is the music during the timelapses really loud
Maybe put 40 AMP charger in separate cu
Why wouldn’t you just tape on to the t+e in the first place
Nice video. Weird music.
Cory hiding after going after Nagy.
What did he say haha ?
@@richardholmes6406 have a look. Cory was giving some "constructive feedback" 😄😁
Look at the state of the cable going above the front door into the house .. wtf… it’s where all your guests / visitors stand looking while waiting for you to answer… wow.. just wow that you did that. 👎👎👎👎👎
Reuben's losing his middle class accent since working on the lads team
I was thinking exactly the same - like has Reuben's accent changed... 😀 I initially thought Nah, it's my Aussie translation. Lol
That is so unprofessional to be cutting a piece of wood on a customer door step like that , workmates are cheap enough these days so buy one. Rubens has just given us a demonstration how not to install an outside light , by drilling a hole in the top of the wall , and giving water a direct route to the light fittings.
no drip loop was put on outside light Ruben did
Exactly! it looks like a water filler from the top of the wall.
I miss Corey ! Hate to say it, Lee isn’t as entertaining as Corey. Lee is more of an instructional video they’d put on at school.
Lee is a damn good teacher, learning lots from him! They’re all great, keep up the brilliant work lads 👍
Drilling through the brick for such a short run seemed unnecessary and kind of messy? As a customer I’d rather have it loop around the corner intentionally rather than look like a half successful effort to hide.
The cable could have been placed more decent by clipping it straight down from the charger and going around the corner a few centimetres over the ground.
You cannot bend a cable like that at a 90 degree angle; they have a minimum bending radius and if you go below that you will damage it.
@@aaronmdjones What’s your point here? That corner is 90 degrees. They’ve bent around corners many times before with a little notch in the corner.
@@nzer19 The point of doing the notch (or, in this case, drilling) is so that you don't *bend* at 90 degrees. Here, it's two wide open 45-degree bends that come nowhere near close to the bending radius limit. When a notch is used, it's a similar situation, just with no straight length of cable in the middle. A square 90 degree bend would absolutely wreck that cable, and a tight bend exceeding the radius limit would almost certainly at least damage the armouring.
@@aaronmdjones I’m again unsure if you’re making a point or just teaching everyone to suck eggs.
Another great video. But 40A breaker to protect 6mm2 cable its too much...
How? 6mm2 can carry 40A easily depending on how it’s installed
@@ciaranmcgeown263 Of course a 6mm2 can carry 40A, 50A, 60A etc but if you want really protect it you must install a 32A breaker and nothing higher...
Yup in Belgium 32A on 6mm. 25A on 4mm.
This ain’t Belgium lol
@@ciaranmcgeown263 Yes i agree .. but voltage/amps is the same in Europe as in UK .. but regulations are sometimes so different between countrys .
