Petteri is awesome! I know sometimes you guys may not have time to watch the full video, so I'd encourage you to check out our jam at 13:06 because it was a truly fun moment for me musically, and I think you'd really enjoy it. Thanks again for watching!
Music is Win please write something together... That final piece was just mesmerising
*DAMN SMOOTH*
You guys should do several songs together. Sounds great!
Tell me more about Petteri's guitar strap!!! That thing looks comfortable.
Music is Win polka
Had a blast jamming with you man. Thanks again!
petterisariola you are god also tuning god
Just doing my best. Thanks!
Has anyone heard of Alexandr misko... He tunes while playing 😵
Misko is great! :) Jon Gomm is fantastic too. If I remember correctly, they use the banjo tuners which can be setup for the amount of tuning that happens when you turn the peg. Would love to try them out someday.
You're so good !!! Any inspiration from Andy Mckee or Don Ross in your background ? (or Antoine Dufour?) ;)
That is some fresh guitar playing
"Rather spend 2 minutes tuning a guitar than 20 minutes sounding out of tune" Tyler - 2018
think about that as if it was life
Glad to see Petteri Sariola with you ! He really deserve to be more in the spot light.
CapitaineBuisson *Petteri
That ending jam was brilliant!
that opening jam made my may, just brought a smile on my face
with that detuning at the end I thought "he wi..."
*Tyler: he wins*
Tyler playing a Tele
I've been waiting for this for so long
Angel the shape
Angel it wasn't THE tele, but still a tele
tele, ok?
TeZOcatlipoca 5 strings, ok? djent, ok?
Armor Max he plays one in his "Breaking The Number 1 Rule Of Guitar Stores"
Starting firgerstyle is easy, mastering it is no joke
You got that right because I encountered it myself
I really envy the confidence of Tyler saying "let's jam in this tuning". What a pair of masters.
Holy cow, what a great groove. And another. And another. Watching Petteri play is half the fun of listening to him, so he should release everything on DVD, IMO.
Oh wow, just listened to a bit of Petteri on Spotify, hot dang my jaw is on the floor. He's incredible.
If you think he's good, check out Mike Dawes.
Looks like he plays a guitar by the same builder as MD's
Seems there are a few Cuntz (guitars) around!!!
The rhythm is strong with this one. A+.
Petteri's been my guitar hero for as long as I can remember playing guitar. Many fingerstyle, slappy taply guitarists come and go, but he's one of the few that I never get tired of.
when you come back from band practice to this.
Antonio Lauro was born here in Venezuela, it's so cool and humbling that our music reaches so many countries
Marco Caraballo do you know what piece that was he played by him?
Andrew R Sandstorm
one of his vals's, not sure if tatiana or maria luisa
The most badass jam ever seen/heard😀
I really enjoyed discovering this musician.. he is gooood! After the intro jam I subscribed to his channel.. the intricate percussive parts with his odd tunings... that's gold!!
What a beautiful sounding colab guys! It was perfect!
Wow what an awesome collaboration! Thanks for introducing me to yet another amazing talent - first Lari and now Petteri. I'd never heard of Pete before this video. Thank you very much Tyler. Pete's style is just out of this world. You guys should really record something together.
The reason why I get stuck and hang out with your channel. I got to learn, live, play guitar, eat and repeat. Cheers.
Beautiful sound 👍
how tf does he tune his guitar that fast
Dictator Rich good hearing
Practice 😉
Wow, I'm awed by the two of you together
0.31 love those bends sound so cool
RIP Michael Hedges....You are living on through inspiring players such as Pete and without your music in this world, it would be a much shittier one to live in.
This guy is incredible, but I suggest you all go checkout Michael Hedges if you dont know him already.
the part at 4:02 WOW are there any tutorials teaching this anywhere? so cool! Thank you for the vid!
Suomi mainittu , torilla tavataan
Mie tuon kaljat
saatana perkele
Tuon saunan
Tuon kitaran
Tuon koko studion mukaan.
I am mostly an acoustic player, he absolutely blows my mind. But, I couldn't get over how good you look with a Tele (style) on your lap!
I thought this guy was going to be pretty good and then he started playing and I fell off my chair. I wish I could play like either of you two!
Tyler, I always watch your full videos to my friend. I wish the ending jam kept going for another couple minutes you guys were killing it.
All the things in that video had touched my soul somehow. I dont know what to say, its just beautiful...
HOOOOOLY he makes the guitar sound like a different instrument!
P.S: 50 views let's gooooo!
2 minutes in and I'm in love! Reminds me of Chet Atkins/Tommy Emmanuel. Made my morning, and greetings from New Zealand!
A great thanks for bringing on in such a talanted artist on your show!
I don't intentionally "write". I warm up, play some songs, make some mistakes, go off on some 10 minute tangent, then find pieces of originals. My "whole song at once" method, is that thing where you hear the entire song,w/lyrics, and you then try to reproduce it, on the guitar. Even if you can't match your mental version, you still get something pretty good.
I live in finland and I've never heard of this guy, so happy I have now!
Awesome jam and Petteri Sariola is a really amazing guitar player ! Good stuff Tyler !
MιleZεro *Petteri
Sorry Poppa didnt mean to offend you , wont happen again
MιleZεro It's fine
this is the best opening jam you have ever done, Tyler!!! That was funky and smooth as hell! you need to colab with this cat again.
OH MY FUCKING GOD PETTERI SARIOLA. He's pretty much my hero.
Smooth i like this jamm session big love all the way from Malaysia keep rocking.
I can relate to your learning and playing style entirely. I express similar if not the same answers to the interview questions. being new to the utilization of youtube for education I feel very new, but out of all the guitar videos I prefer this one for it's grittiness. it's real. I can follow it. Thank you.
Very nice. I once lived up the road from a guy that played like a bit like that. His name was Tommy Emmanuel.
1:40 that howling harmonic sound gave me goosebumps and that chord is just sinister
Outro jam was incredible...
This is awesome! Really jaw-dropping! I am drooling right now! Cheers from Germany, Axel.
Seems like a great guy and of course insane player. There is a video on JayLeonardJ’s channel where he explains some of his techniques.
music that comes from your heart is the best
You two need to write an album together. Fantastic!
that tuning is sick, man :) i usually write in c open
that acoustic is beautiful wow
Tyler you could be an anchor person too, your interviewing skills are amazing
4:04 proper groove neck
7:23 ‘his mind is like: ‘that’s...ok, let’s keep this serious’
Just worked my way through a few slightly dull guitar videos before seeing this one... Humongous contrast. Some guys who know what they're doing :)
Nice to see one of the "percussion" guys credit Hedges. He was amazing.
That was incredible!
Just copped a couple of 'Pete's tracks offa iTunes.. Great Suff! 👍🏽
You inspire me every day to play guitar dude
Is that guy sitting on a GIANT MARSHMALLOW!??
that outro jam was fucking awesome.
9:50 that moment when you hear the classical guitar player tuning into DJENT!
I think he is the best acoustic classical guitarist I have seen in my life. What technique!
I know this is an old video but i didn't expect a fellow finn featured here.
Intro was really cool.
when the accoustic guitar beat kicked in i lost my shit. Amazing guitar play!
Y'all sounded great.
Seeing that gorgeous vinyl made me guilty about checking it out on Spotify. :(
Petteri is beyond Awesome!!!!
This is just perfect !!!!
At 0.42 glimour style bend...am I right ??
You guys are awesome, I am thinking of trying different tunings after seeing this :D
You seriously need to check out Dani Vargas. His playing is incredible. He's in LA now, but he grew up in Chile.
I suggest listening to "Love" or "Hope" first.
I did watch the whole video per your instructions. What was cooler? Was it Petteri's tunings and percussive creativity (I thought it was awesome when he'd play high notes and then use his fretting hand real quick to give the guitar a percussive strike. That was cool), or was it you Tyler, who instead of going for light speed, held back in the groove with really cool bend techniques that gently kind of cried out just a bit. Gosh that was nice :D
Man, he's great! He's got a whole band in that one guitar, and he's just doing so much with it! AH!
Probably the best Hedges inspired player I have ever heard. Wow! Beautiful.
Sandy Turner Dont forget Andy Mckee as well!
I like him, too, but not quite as much. I'm not as interested in Peter's vocal stuff, though..I just listened to his record on ITunes.
Listen to what's inside and keep what you like... can i steal this phrase?
the face tyler makes when Petteri starts with the rythm playing.....damn 😂😂
Immediately went to Spotify, typed in Petteri, and hit the save button!
The beautiful thing about the guitar is that there are so many different things you can do on it
Are you kidding me that jam was unbelievable. Sounded less like a jam and more like a written and rehearsed duet.
Oh I'm early better make a joke
I can improvise better than Tyler
Fascinating guy. He has a nice style.
Very good video Tyler, keep going
super awesome
you 2 should play glastonbury wow epic
I wish you had asked him what kind of string gauges he uses to keep quality tension in those tunings, or if it's the scale of his guitar? I would've loved to have seen his pedalboard as well!
Can you make a lesson on how to play the first thing you played?plz
Really good and interesting guitar techniques! It would have been even better to talk a bit about his sound, the pedals he's using. Looks like he's got two output jacks as well
Petteri come to DC pleaseeee
Kaki King was the first I heard of this particular style.
👍👍 go Petteri and nice jammmmm 😊
What was the electric guitar being played?
Un-related question to the video. How fast is a respectable speed to alt pick and tremolo pick? Blues rock player here trying to add some shred to my arsenal. I will never be a shred god and it's not my goal. But I do want include the dynamic to my playing. I'd like to set a goal that is obtainable and fast enough to to have some flash. Consider I'm a lefty who learned righty my right hand requires a lot of effort and it is a disadvantage to my sense of rhythm. On the plus side my legato and hammer on pull offs come a little easier. Currently I can tremolo at 150 and alt pick between 118 and 130 depending on the pattern. What goals should I set for myself?
Rudy Ayoub thank you for the info
do also accent on the 1 beat.it will lock down the rhythm and synchronization with both hands.keeps away from playing sloppy. Pick close to the strings with relaxed picking hand and relaxed fretting hand,
people often slip up from tension see this video for more info. ruclips.net/video/Vhq3n0YvJDA/видео.html
DarkMagician12 thank you
Wow man!!!!!
Petteri Seriola is my favourite guiyar palyer
Best thing I've ever heard omg
Tyler, I know this is off topic but I would love to know what that chair was that Petteri was sitting in while he was playing. I love the way he was able to sway different directions. is there some way to find out where to get one of those chairs?
Oh man, that was a sick Jam!! :D
