I finished her blade quest last week. They weren't kidding with the 16+ hours on her merc missions. Still worth it though, especially if used with Nia!
Ursula seems to sound like a blade thats more screwed over by the games mechanics where the nature of it makes dedicated healers less valuable than high offence blades with healing skills or equipment rather than her kit in its entirety.
Yea not gonna lie, I fell into the trap. All this effort and she should be amazing I thought. Then I just started using Dagas and other strong attack blades with crit healing medals, and shelved Ursula for good. She still has a cool and unique design though
Back in the days when I thought she was the best healer in the game. Then I found out KOS-MOS level 2 special is basically the best healing art while also doing great damage. At least she’s still adorable
Looks like you forgot about fiora. Her 1 and 3 basically give 5x the hp you should have and even more damage. She is a twin ring reskin that has one of the highest dps in the game only beat by qtpi.
I got her as my second blade. Cute shy girls are always a hit with me. I also like the lillies of the valley in her hair. Her lvl 3 special's name is also pretty fun in french: Carroursel (a pun with Carrousel [Merry-go-round] and Ours [Bear]). Since I got her so early I had no problem with her blade quest but I can see how someone, pulling her out of the gacha very late game, can feel pissed about it. So only thing I felt was strange about her is the size of her arms of her model (not visible on her art)... Her forearms are as THICC as a Lumberjack's biceps. I guess she has some Ursus in her!
As I try to do on most blades, here is how Ill fix Ursula a bit, since she isnt in as a bad spot as other blades she doesnt need much more tunning, but I feel most Knuckle Claws get skills that got lost in translation compared to even Shield Hammers, where I see Knuckles as great critical focus weapons but dont see the blades making use of this but first, must remind one of the general changes I would do since its been sometimes, I have this changes in mind when making this comments, mainly since I focus on skills, I would change the skills so that 1 of them is a permanent buff on the equipped character, one being a party wide buff while on use, and the last one active only when on the field, but using a special with that blade makes it so you can take the effect for some amount of time as you change blades another change is making an item that can increase the number of aux cores the Blade can equip to a max of 3, mostly for those Blades that got screwwed with only 1, and lastly rebalancing and changing of mechanics and itmes to some extent, for example, one of Ursulas first problem I allways see is her element, if elemental dots where different than they currently are then it could help a lot to many Blades, tough I have not compleatly tough of how to work them, currently Im thinking of something like the element starter gives a base debuff like more damage from phisical, ehter or dot (Im talking Earth with Dot to make it more like XB1 poison) and others with slower recharges or DPS debuff, but its still in the chalkboard for me so now back to Ursula, in her skills, the only one I can think of is Beary Healing, honestly it is not bad for it being a healing art, but this is what I mean it got lost in translating it to her weapon, I would say for Claws it makes more sense to make it Avant Grade Medal type healing but party and the % healed increase with level aside from that, I can only comment that the less aggro generated being the permanently active skill, it could make her a good pairing with Blades that have very situational arts and skill with many positional damages also to note, its not that I dont think to change specials but I also think I would like more unique special interactions like Catalist Scimitar and Pyra combination, like one of Praxis and Theory, but thats even further back in the tough process line for me at the moment
I love how the good way to use Ursula is to run away from her in battle, lol. And it should be really easy considering what nightmare she got you through in her blade quest lol. Someone should roleplay that in their let's play, lol.
One of the blades im just plain comfortable using. The knuckle claws in general are probably my favourite weapon, and Ursula has always been a particularly fun option for me, though she comes up short when compared to Nim and Adenine imo. That said, her blade quest gave me five types of insanity.
i have a feeling that he’s doing the blades that chugga has bc of two reasons. the people who are playing along might wanna learn more about the blade. also he might not wanna spoil a bunch of blades since there could be new xenoblade 2 viewers cause of chugga.
I pulled Ursula and Boreas on Nia in my original playthrough of this game. As such I used Rex, Nia and Tora throughout the entire playthrough and only started experimenting with Zeke and Morag after finishing and in my second playthrough. Definitely not optimal but if you never want to die throughout your first playthrough having Dromarch, Ursula and Boreas almost guarantees that your party is at least 80% health at all times LOL
Ursula was the only rare blade I unlocked in a Common Core Crystal until yesterday where I got T-elos. Judging from what you’re saying about T-elos, it looks like I got an amazing blade! Her design is pretty awesome, too!
I use her on Zeke along side Pandoria and Wulfric. Accessories are world tree drop, overclocking bangle, and a launch extender. Then I just let Tora or Nia break the enemy and finish the entire driver combo myself. I like Ursula because she heals any chip damage that gets through my driver loops and I don't ever have to worry about my party's hp.
She's my clutch healer. I'm not maxed out on any character by any means, but she can pull off insanely strong healing early on all the way to normal endgame when i bit off more than i can chew.
@@ram5487 indeed was hard, made it after numerous tries at lv 29/29/29 with pyra, ursula, dromach, nim and poppy. The key was the shackle driver seal , aggro managing and healing during attacks such as deadly drive
I suffered through Ursula's blade quest. The problem was, I really wanted to use her on Nia in conjunction with Dromarch and Boreas (yeah, I know), so I would sometimes put the blade quest on hold just so I could use her for some of the story. The quest ended up taking even longer as a result. But I was dumb and didn't have any other blades built on Nia at the time.
I love Ursula for sure and she is fun, but I wish she was worth the hype. It would've helped a lot if: - Her Blade Cooldown was 5 - Her Snow Charm gave a 100% Barrier - She had another Aux Core Slot
She also lampshades it with her Merc Mission team name, which You'll also hear for the 200th time and probably some more after that. We Are Ursula's New Groove!
I made decent use of this blade on NG Bringer of Chaos in certain circumstances. Aubrite chips are +50 agility on punchers, and Ursula has an agi boost (albeit not a good one). In addition, knuckle-claws have one of the quickest, most reliable launch arts on Nia, who also happens to have the second-highest agility of the drivers. Given the AI's penchant for running into rage AoEs for no reason at all, dying and eating your party gauge in the process, I settled on boosting my other party members' defenses to avoid them getting one-shot as frequently. In addition, she's ice, which only has two oddball finishers with fire, light, and electric; since those three are the elements of your locked members, you won't have issues with the AI fixating on Ursula waiting to pull off a blade combo when she shouldn't. The result is that if you want a boost swap and stat stick blade, Ursula can be handy to have around. Yes, a similarly-rolled common blade could be altogether better if you can get one, but that's a problem all knuckles but Adenine have; as far as knuckle blades go, she's... serviceable...ish. Sometimes.
During my first run, Ursula (and Nia later on) was considered to be my favorite and best blade for combat due to me juggling Attack and Healer roles for Rex...up until a side quest in the Spirit Crucible, where I learned just how much of a double edged sword HP Potions are, ESPECIALLY on narrow walkways. Her emergency swap heals were definitely lifesavers though. ...And no, I still haven't finished her side quest just yet. (Almost there, though) Takes *so freaking LOOOOOOOONG...*
LOL! BYE PATROKA! I always loved doing that! Reminds me of Wind Waker when you can smash enemies off the towers. Or let them do it to one another. That shit is hilarious.
Sure, you could use Ursula. Or bring any common blade with lv5 Barrier Aura. I really wish there was some way to see your damage barriers. There isn't any clear indication of what they do in-game.
What are the odds of me finally finishing Ursula's terrible affinity quest after 3 years of having the game and then I see a blade guide on how to use her. I can finally test her for endgame content 😭
In a game where doing damage can heal, healers become obsolete easily. Heck, even most tanks aren’t very useful either, as either the enemy dies immediately, or cannot overcome the constant full heals. Ursula is yet another victim of Xenoblade 2’s merciless mechanics and how much they favor damage dealers over everything else.
The tank-issue is basically just Xenoblade in general. In Xenoblade 1 they only work because literally everyone (including them) is a big damage dealer besides the mage(Who instead gets OP DoT) and the healer(Who coincidentially is considered the worst party member in the game)
If morag has a really bad knuckle set what makes severs kit on her good (I always see sever on morag)? I know he’s a clone but most of the time clones are best on the same drivers as normal.
That moment when you don’t start ursula blades quest until you were almost done with the game so you had to do half her side quest by just standing there doing nothing
Aha! I have figured out the reason for Monolithsoft's decision to lock Blades behind a gacha system! If many of us are never able to even unlock the precious cinnamon rolls Electra and Ursula in NG+ (which I will continue after finishing Xenoblade 1), we will be forced to buy the game again when it is remade for the Switch 3 seven years from now, where there are no gacha mechanics and the grind for extra outfits in challenges is made significantly more fair, thus putting up the pretense that they have learned from their mistakes and are now ethical, but they in fact planned it all along to make up for the lost money from rushing the game at Nintendo's behest! Genius-level scheming, Monolith. Now take my preorder money and I'll see you at your next release.
Usula is one of the game's biggest victims with its good on paper bad in practice......it's kinda sad really how bad claw knuckles have it that actually are good at healing only to be rendered useless by kosmos and fiora
So, funny but mostly useless thing I've been trying. If you're fine with sacrificing some Art Recharge, you could use an Art item, like the Titan Illuminations Dahlia can craft, to get an extra 17% boost to affinity gain. Might not sound like a lot, but when you pair that with Rex's like of art, it gets boosted to around 40% meaning max affinity comes back almost instantly. If only there was a faster way to LOSE affinity...

It's okay, we all know anything involving Ursula takes way longer than usual.
If Ursula was quick, she wouldn’t be Ursula. She would be a good blade.
I got freaking KOS-MOS before pulling Ursula. She really does take longer than usual to do anything with!
Ursula’s level 2 is just KOS-MOS’s level 2 at home
Did you SERIOUSLY release this the DAY after Chugga did her Blade Quest!?
Good one, Enel. Good one. 👍👍

I'm sure this wasn't intentional, but what a coincidence considering the Blade in question.
