My personal target 123 macros:
/cleartarget
/targetenemy
/targetenemyplayer
/target arena1
/targetenemy
/targetenemyplayer
/target arena2
/target player
/target arena3
Very nice transition in the beginning, also love the format of the video! Hopefully you continue to make helpful video's like this for Dragonflight!
This is fantastic, thanks! Now I get to rewrite all my macros at 3 am haha
If I well understood, the target 123 macro does outside arena the same action of tab targeting and in arena it does the classic target arena 1 ?
But why adding /cleartarget I don't understand very well ?
PS : Nice video, very informative ! 🙂
Cheers!
Let me explain:
Without /cleartarget you scroll through enemies. With /cleartarget you only target the one closest to you.
It's only preference :) I should have specified, my bad.
@@12fulworld69 Thanks a lot man !
One more question, in arena your three arena target macro do the same as /arena1 ?
@@Kaartoonz23 i dont but you could :)
Mine is just /target arena3
@@12fulworld69 Thanks for the answer ! Hope you will play TBC and share some content on your RUclips channel ;)
Great video here with solid information. Very nice job.
this is very informative man.. thanks for this
Quick question, given that Gladius (or whatever you want too use) has a cast bar (if you want), why even use Focus macros anymore? They had a real purpose back when they were introduced and make a lot of sense in BGs (Focus a FC for example) or PvE, but if you are already doing something like /cast [target=@arena1] Kick/Interrupt/CC/Whatever, why do you need focus?
You don't. Usually it's one or the other, or a mix. Focus does require fewer binds than arena 123 for every spell that you might want to use.
Some people prefer it if 1) they have a lot of cc 2) they want to make sure they're consistently cc'ing one target (rouge) 3) tracking buffs for purging
I tend to consider focus good for melee, and arena123 good for range. Not entirely sure why I feel that way.
@@12fulworld69 cool, makes sense. Thanks! I need to start getting used to using combo of arena 1,2,3 and party macros for targeting, and hen Arena specific macros for interrupts, too many years playing wack-a-mole with PvE raid frames ;)
I have long fingers but i really can not understand how to click f1 f2 f3 , just cant get em, maybe because never used to, ps. i type really fast without looking at the keyboard
For me, f keys are the ones on my mouse, but I know Cdew uses them on the keyboard (believe he has a corsair) for targeting. It's probably not something I would use for rotational stuff, but they can be useful for other things :)
The problem I have is that I have too many buttons already. I know it takes practice but I use 1-9 and shift 1-9 on my mouse. And still not enough hotkeys. I can't understand why I see these rank 1 players and it looks like they have barely anything in their action bars. But somehow they have all of these macros? Been playing wow for years and I still don't get it.
I'll make a video on this :)
@@12fulworld69 that would be awesome
You still have letters Q E R F Z C V. On my rogue blind is C. Shift C is arena1 ctrl C arena2 alt c arena 3 and so on.
/Cast [nomodifier, target=Arena1] Spell
/Cast [modifier:shift, target=Arena2] Spell
I like these for quick targets rather than rely on setting a focus for a CC
Hi! thanks for the vid, does this work in older versions of the game aswel? thank you:)
Yes!
arena pvp, entirely different game
What determines that party 1 is at the top etc? It mixes for me
If you're using the normal raid frames, there should be a "sort by:" option in Interface>Raid Profiles. Put that one to 'group' and you should be good.
If you want a specific person to be party1 in an arena, you can make them "raid leader". No idea why.
And you put these keys where...?
Stuff like this can be somewhat separate from your rotation, with no issue. I'd do ctrl 123, f1 f2 f3, or the mousewheel :)
For the specific spells, similarly ctrl works well, so if you have cyclone on c, you focus macro can be ctrl C
Remember this is to make stuff easier and more seamless. It can be really awkward to click a target on command, to line up cc, with a lot going on.
im just gonna be honest amount of times you said "eeeh" in the video lol
