    Thank you Peta! I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorials on the Jellyfish from Lost Ocean. I'm no longer afraid that my pastels with ruin my picture. I am simply a woman who loves to color. I have so many pencils (and many more I have given away!) That I am running out of room to place them. Coloring has been the best thing for pain management, as I can concentrate on the pictures, colors, and desired outcome. You have helped to take my work to the next level and I thank you so very much for these videos. You make it easy to learn new techniques and up my finished projects to the next level. Thank you again....God Bless!

    Peta, I LOVE your style!!! Your videos are so soothing and your choices are perfect. I especially loved the way you did the background on the jellyfish. I've always hated pastels because they are so messy but this technique is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your coloring with us.

    I tried these bubbles and they worked so nicely and look so good! The one thing I noticed though... when I used my Prismacolor white the bubbles wouldn't show up so I switched the white pencil with my Lyra Rembrandts and they worked perfectly. I haven't tried my other white pencils but I will just to see which ones work. I just have to remember when I try it again not to use the Prisma white..... which I definitely will be doing this again. Love this technique!

      Prismacolor pencils are a lot of fun. They are too soft for my liking although i do use them in certain books. It's a good set of pencils and you will enjoy them.

    A roll of tape might work well as a stencil. Something like washi tape maybe?

    • @PetaHewitt
      @PetaHewitt  8 лет назад

      Certainly would. expert tip, get rid of some of the stickiness first by sticking and removing it from a desk or table. that way you're less likely to tear the paper when you go to take it off.

  • @KlassyKat45
    @KlassyKat45 5 лет назад +1

    Just did this color along. All went well until I did the background. The white pencil I used (Prismacolour) wasn't as much of a resist as the polychromos. It's ok but not great. Oh well.

    The pastel sticks to prismacolor. Need to use an oil based or very hard wax based or you get blue bubbles....lol

    Thanks Peta, another great video, full of great ideas. I was wondering if after you've put down the bubbles with white pencil could you use water colour, being careful not to paint over the jellyfish??? What about masking fluid to mark out the bubbles??

    • @PetaHewitt
      @PetaHewitt  8 лет назад

      Hi Angela. I think it would be best to use masking fluid. And thinking about it I would experiment with making a puddle of masking fluid on a plate and stamping it onto paper with something small and round, like the edge of a bottle top. i haven't tried this but maybe it would work to give you perfectly round circles. I don't think that pencil would resist the paint. Although you could also try a white wax crayon with watercolour... that would definately work.

      Hi Martina. i own an embarrassing amount of colouring books. many of them have been sent to me but i occasionally buy one that i just have to have (*cough* Terry Pratchett *cough*). I am thinking of doing a review video. It's on the cards. the bottle neck is the amount of time my dear hard working hubby can spend editing my videos.
