Nursing may pay the bills...but your videos provide so much joy for so many! What a gift for us! Thank you so much, Peta....for sharing with us. :)
i really like this.
i have a few jellyfish pages i have been looking at for a few days now. i am going to give this a try.
Thank you Peta! I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorials on the Jellyfish from Lost Ocean. I'm no longer afraid that my pastels with ruin my picture. I am simply a woman who loves to color. I have so many pencils (and many more I have given away!) That I am running out of room to place them. Coloring has been the best thing for pain management, as I can concentrate on the pictures, colors, and desired outcome. You have helped to take my work to the next level and I thank you so very much for these videos. You make it easy to learn new techniques and up my finished projects to the next level. Thank you again....God Bless!
Love it! The bubbles really add dimension and movement. You can almost imagine the tentacles flailing around in the water. Thanks for the tip, Peta.
Wow! That was awesome seeing that bubble come up after putting the pastel on!
So glad you are back! I am still coloring on my jellyfish and it will be so much fun to add the bubbles! It's beautiful! Thank you for your inspiration. You are my favorite!
Peta, I LOVE your style!!! Your videos are so soothing and your choices are perfect. I especially loved the way you did the background on the jellyfish. I've always hated pastels because they are so messy but this technique is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your coloring with us.
I just loved seeing those bubbles come to life. Your tutorials are fantastic.
Tfs & take care 🌹
Oh my God The Bubble technique was awesome !!! Love you😍😍😍

Oh wow Peta. Your work just blows me away whenever I have the pleasure to watch your videos. Your artistic talent seems endless to me. Do you know what, I actually enjoy watching you creating things more than doing them myself because yours are soooo much better than anything I can do. 😃 This beautiful jellyfish and that fab background is so enjoyable to see as it progresses. Well done you - you talented person you! 😉 👍

Hey Peta
Blender pencils also work great. Thanks for another great review. Love your work. 🎨🖍🖌💖😊🐳🐬🐡🐟🐠
Beautiful . Love you explainations.
Wonderful tutorial! I have missed you x
JUST STUNNING WORK THANK YOU
Lovely video as usual! Thank you so much.. You explain things so well!
Loved it, missed you!
I tried these bubbles and they worked so nicely and look so good! The one thing I noticed though... when I used my Prismacolor white the bubbles wouldn't show up so I switched the white pencil with my Lyra Rembrandts and they worked perfectly. I haven't tried my other white pencils but I will just to see which ones work. I just have to remember when I try it again not to use the Prisma white..... which I definitely will be doing this again. Love this technique!
Love it, Peta! Can't wait to try it!
Thank you So much! Loved this from beginning to end
got it:-) thanks Peta, and hubby too! much appreciated.
How wonderful! Thank you.
Thank you, I've been waiting for this, so glad you're back
Missed your tutorials.
My background turned out awesome. Thank you for the new (to me) technique. On to the duck pond. :)
Thanks for this tutorial, it’s been so helpful and I’ve loved doing it 😊👍🏻
You're welcome.
Thanks for this! I tried it out and it looks amazing!
Que maravilha, ficou muito lindo. Obrigada por disponibilizar.
Yay you're back!
Wheeeeeee that was fun ❤❤
now that is magical
I am just getting started and love your videos. I am ordering Prismacolor pencils and wonder if they are good for beginners. Thanks for all the wonderful tips you give.
Prismacolor pencils are a lot of fun. They are too soft for my liking although i do use them in certain books. It's a good set of pencils and you will enjoy them.
Are we going to get to color with you on any of the Jasmine Becket Griffith work you've been doing? I love her books. Now I can't wait to watch this video with you and see if I have the courage to try this!😊
That is a distinct possibility for the next colour along. I'm currently working on a Magical Jungle one with the tiger picture.
A roll of tape might work well as a stencil. Something like washi tape maybe?
Certainly would. expert tip, get rid of some of the stickiness first by sticking and removing it from a desk or table. that way you're less likely to tear the paper when you go to take it off.
Just did this color along. All went well until I did the background. The white pencil I used (Prismacolour) wasn't as much of a resist as the polychromos. It's ok but not great. Oh well.
You should do coloring books haul :)
The pastel sticks to prismacolor. Need to use an oil based or very hard wax based or you get blue bubbles....lol
Merci pour ce tuto
Thanks Peta, another great video, full of great ideas. I was wondering if after you've put down the bubbles with white pencil could you use water colour, being careful not to paint over the jellyfish??? What about masking fluid to mark out the bubbles??
Hi Angela. I think it would be best to use masking fluid. And thinking about it I would experiment with making a puddle of masking fluid on a plate and stamping it onto paper with something small and round, like the edge of a bottle top. i haven't tried this but maybe it would work to give you perfectly round circles. I don't think that pencil would resist the paint. Although you could also try a white wax crayon with watercolour... that would definately work.
Thanks Peta - even more ideas to try out.
You're welcome. :)
Peta..Love your videos...I enjoy learning from you...I went to download the jellyfish print out but it doesn't seem to work..did I miss out on this? I was looking forward to following you with coloring it.
Hi Brenda. the site host may have taken it down. I'm afraid i can't host the picture as i don't have a legal right it. I know the picture also appears in the Lost Ocean calendar edition if you have any plans to buy that.
Hubby figured out the problem and I have updated the link
Hello Peta, finally a new video from you!!! :-) I would like to know, how many colouring books do you actually own? can you maybe make a short review about your collection? ;-) would be interesting to see it...
Happy colouring! :-D
Hi Martina. i own an embarrassing amount of colouring books. many of them have been sent to me but i occasionally buy one that i just have to have (*cough* Terry Pratchett *cough*). I am thinking of doing a review video. It's on the cards. the bottle neck is the amount of time my dear hard working hubby can spend editing my videos.
+Peta Hewitt OMG you're a discworld fan too?! This just makes my day. Could you do a review and/or color along with a picture? I just bought it myself and lost for ideas on how to bring the gorgeous pictures to life!
Parabéns ficou maravilhoso
absolutley love it!
Hello! I am a recent subscriber. I love your work and your tutorials. I also like using color pencils for my own work. I am planning a tutorial on how to use dual color pencils red and blue, and I came across your competiton pdf files for june. I loved the flowers, waratah I think, the line drawing is amazing. Is it ok if I use your drawing for my tutorial? I will give you credit and link your blog and youtube channel when I publish the video. Thanks!
Certainly Chris. Send me a link to your tutorial when you're done. I'd love to see it.
perfect...
That's brilliant
what mark of pastel you use?
j'aime beaucoup se que vous faites :')
У меня не получается 😭😭 Белый Карандаш PrismaColor , пастельный карандаш KoHiNoor. Круг выходит не белый, размытый в тон пастель ((
Is it just me or do Derwent Artists colored pencils feel gritty and very waxy
The light bulb finally went off.
