- Why was Sweet Victory not sang at the Super Bowl? Who's to blame? I investigated and found out.
The Super Bowl came and went on February 3rd 2019. Many fans had hoped as tribute to Stephen Hillenburg the famous SpongeBob Sqaurepants song, Sweet Victory, would be sang and played at half time. But sadly, that didn't happen. Let's talk more about that.

Wouldn't they try to stray from repetition though? The fact that they acknowledged and did a bit of Sweet Victory means they'll want to refrain from doing it again. They won't say "Don't worry, we'll just do it right next year!" they'll go "Right, we TECHNICALLY gave the fans what they wanted, now what should we do next year?"
Idk it could be wrong, and it'd be nice to see a proper Sweet Victory being played at the Super Bowl, but I just don't see it happening.

It wasn’t just the halftime show. That entire game was extremely boring.
I personally thought Adam Levine was fine... for the most part. But a band like Maroon 5 feels more like supplementary material for a Halftime show. Plus the song selection was pretty average. Two songs in particular were sung like songs I've heard before. "She Will Be Loved" was sung in a beat similar to "I'll Be Home" by Meghan Trainor and "Sugar" was turned from a song that was mashable with "thank u, next" by Ariana Grande to something that sounded more like "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. And then it ended so abruptly after "Moves Like Jagger", it left me feeling unimpressed sometime later...
Oh, and Travis Scott's entrance was awful with terrible special effects. Pitiful.

In my opinion, not only is it like a huge sin to not play sweet victory with the clips from band geeks, but it would have been better if they didn’t do anything at all because this is a case of do it and win respect or don’t do anything at all and not have the fans and everyone blow up at you. At least the NHL realized the moment and actually played sweet victory during their game.

i kinda noticed the animation was rushed looking when first watching it, and it was only to introduce the next act, it seems like the NFL dosent really care much, but if they gave the green light to do it months in advance i think the animation would of been abit more smooth and crisp. but sometimes we dont get everything, maybe in the future there will be a better tribute.
