    China's growth and success in a pandemic year has been remarkable and laudable, and things can only get better for China despite challenges from a somewhat hostile USA and some other nations (UK, Australia, India, etc). Full steam ahead for China!

      @Virus Factory In the first place, no one wants Covid-19 to happen, whether it is China or any other nation. Pandemics are unwanted but unforeseen. That's why no sensible person such as top US infectious disease expert Dr Anthony Fauci will blame China for something that nobody wants. The two worst epidemics in modern times before Covid-19 started as zoonotic diseases in American farms, in case you do not know about the history of pandemics. Was USA able to stop them from spreading? US-originated Spanish flu in 1918 infected 500 million people (one-third of world's population then) and killed 50 million to 100 million people (nobody knows for sure because of patchy record keeping then). India was the worst-hit nation with up to 14 million or 5 per cent of its population killed. There is also the H1N1 swine flu in 2009 which USA irresponsibly initially blamed on Mexico but which the American CDC later admitted started on a US pig farm, and the WHO then recording it as originating in USA. It infected 80 million people around the world and killed 575,400. Did any nation blame or hold USA accountable for them? None did.

    • @darvidkoh2707
      @darvidkoh2707 3 года назад +16

      @Virus Factory Did you not know this? Donald Trump told Bob Woodward, the author of the book Rage, who recorded all of his conversations with Trump for the book, that he knew in February that the coronavirus was highly infectious as he had been informed by health officials. But he chose to hide that fact from Americans and play down the severity of the virus as he did not want to cause panic in USA. He told Americans the virus was "just like a flu that would disappear like magic with warmer weather in April." As a result, he did not take effective containment measures to stop the massive spikes in Covid infections (29,866,708 so far, Worldometers stats) and deaths (542,274 so far). That makes him culpable for having blood on his deaths as USA is unwanted world number one in infections and deaths.

    Fantastic video with very intelligent and reasonable hosts! It's nice to watch a new program and not have everyone yelling at each other all the time lmao unlike in the USA, where the guests almost get into physical fights sometimes
    Also, in regards to US hypocrisies, one of the biggest ones in regards to Xinjiang is the whole "they're oppressing Muslims!" And that is coming from the country that literally destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia, the country that has been arming and funding the same terrorist groups it claimed to be fighting (supporting Islamist Jihadists in Syria and Libya, for instance), the country that has overseen a massive rise in Islamic terrorism in the MENA region that primarily has fueled violence between Shia and Sunni Muslims, the country where for years after 9/11 thousands of Muslims and Arabs, even Arabs who were Christian, were detained, tortured, and deported, the country that is the BASTION of the oppression of the Muslim world today. It's absolutely disgusting. The USA is ruled by sociopaths while China is ruled by people who actually care about their people.

      Thank you. You are one Philippine citizen who appreciates good quality news channels. I wish there are more of you writing in RUclips with honest comments; without being pro-China or pro-US.
      I write often - on such channels aired on RUclips. The reason ?
      United States is the most brazen AND evil hypocrite on the world stage.
      US colonize Philippines and DELIBERATELY damaged your nation in many ways. On the edges of EVERY US military base, prostitution, drugs and gambling dens sprout up.
      The West deliberately introduce opium to China. History tells you what opium did to China.
      US wants chaos on other nations. That makes it easy for US to bully or manipulate them. That is why US ALWAYS preach Democracy and Human Rights because these make it easy for US to fund opposition to subvert the effectiveness of the current Government.
      I come from Singapore and we have ONLY one party who have ruled our nation since independence - 1965. During the early years, US Senators and Newspapers criticise the total power held by our then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. US Fund Managers tried to manipulate our Stock Market.
      Lee Kuan Yew stood his ground. He imposed strict discipline - both for the running of our society AND politics. Any opposition politician who mouth untruthful news, religious ill-will, racial slurs or tries to practice politics-of-envy, gets sued or thrown into jail. Even his own party members - ESPECIALLY his own party members.
      An ill-discipline American teenager Michael Fay who scratched the paint-work of a car, was jailed AND given 6 strokes of the rotan. President Bill Clinton appealed, the US Pacific Fleet Commander sneered when asked about his Fleet's deployment, but Michael Fay got his full punishment, less 2 strokes of rotan as a face-giving gesture to President Bill Clinton.
      Discipline works.
      Hard working labour force ( WITHOUT the noisy interference of unions ) will propel the viability of setting up factories in your nation.
      Honesty works.
      And lots more - to make a nation succeed.
      AMERICA has few, if not NONE of the above attributes.
      Singapore and China has shown to the world that Good Governance makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE - between successful and failed Nations.
      Your present President is BRAVE. He wants things to be better for Philippines. He has the balls to stand up against the Americans. Support him. Extend his term in office. Such Leaders are VERY VERY rare. Lose them and you lose your NATION.
      Good luck and best wishes to you, your people AND your Nation.
      With much Love,
      From a Singaporean

    Hong Kong students have been taught Mandarin since 1997 July 01. So most of them understand Mandarin and speak Manadarin. The only people who do not fully speak Mandarin would be those of the much older generation only. For most older people, they speak Cantonese style Mandarin, which can easily be understood by the northerners.

    • @flam9415

      @Currently procrastinating
      I believe there has been compulsory class on Mandarin. It is understandably clear that the rioters chose not to speak, depending on their language ability. Maybe they can only understand a bit. In HK why do they need to speak Mandarin. Just like in Shanghai a lot of the local people still speak Shanghai dialect and it doesn't mean they are unable to speak Mandarin. My nephews and nieces presently at the ages of 30~50 in HK can all speak and understand Mandarin.

    • @leolee1959
      @leolee1959 3 года назад

      @@flam9415 I stand corrected but my impression of the HongKong folks is their prejudice against mainland Chinese who hogged supermarkets for Baby milk powder (during the melanin-laced milk powder scandal), hospital beds so that their children can reside in HongKong, etc.
      HongKongers brought up under British Administration have this tendency to look down on those who cant speak Cantonese or are lesser-off in personal deportment or bearing or manners. This is particularly ingratiating to mandarin-speaking folks.
      After the riots where American and British flags were hoisted up high and China's flags were burned and trampled, I seriously doubt any Cantonese-speaking HongKong citizen can show up anywhere in China without getting a grim look from mainland Chinese, much less land a job or business deal.
      Some HongKongers claim Cantonese is a Language and not merely a dialect. They profess disdain of Mandarin and deliberately choose to speak Cantonese. As such, they display as stuck-up and snooty mannerism - much alike their former Stiff upper-lip British Masters.
      Small wonder, HongKongers are not warmly received by the mainland Chinese.
      If HongKongers who are aware of such propensities, yet allow Western or American politicians exploit them, then they can expect to be alienated. This will lead to the demise of Cantonese as a dialect and group for which no tears will be shed.

The USA needs to improve itself morally and civilly just as much as most other countries. There is a lot of evil, racism, corruption, and hatred in the USA. Just watch video clips of news footage that proves that over and over and over again. Its good that the USA promotes human rights in the world, but the promotion of human rights should be carried out in a very respectful way, and not used to demoralize that country for other political gains for some other country making the accusations or doling out the advice. The accusers of human rights shortcomings need to also follow their own advice and clean up their backyard as well.

    excellent insight by all 3. Einer tangen, as usual, is on top of his game with his points about how the US is trying to trip up china every step of her way.

  • @marvinfok65

    Einar Tangen had a very clear view of where the new technology lies. Yes, Quantum is the next breakthrough in technology which the the cream of the crop. US is actually very lacking in many areas too like silicon chip production where they had to depend on S.Korea's Samsung and Taiwan's TSMC to do so. The recent worldwide shortage of chips had also exposed US's own vulnerability in this area. Wondered who is Einar, had a very Asian feature but very central Asian name.
    Wow, I am so surprised that 2 Americans are so open to the faults of their own government. Actually the US government is no longer the government for Americans but for the top 1% Americans. The US had turned from a democracy into a plutocracy which is explained by Joseph Stiglitz's article 'Of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%'!

      When societies go done, they talk about past glories ( or Royal Families famed wealth ).
      Societies on the way UP, are anxious, worry about the future for their kids but plain suck-it-up and do their best slogging away at their jobs or profession. BUT, the nation must have the discipline, confidence AND vitality. Then it is worth the effort and sacrifices.
      Your great grand parents had that in their days.
      Move to China. You will be doing your future generations a service. Once China engages her 5th Gear in industrialisation and innovation, Everybody will be making a beeline for The Middle Kingdom. The Germans have wisely bet the future of the EU on China. England have not.
      For every evidence, visit Singapore - same TOTALITARIAN State - by Deliberate Design ! From our independence, we have taken the best practices of Black cats and White cats and mould a Cat that catches the mouse.
      Choose wisely. Good luck to you.

    Such a good conversation. You can see all those points that concerned are actually addressed by the government blueprint and planning. Everyone work together to make China better and people having a better life whereas US , the so called politicians don't care about their people rather their own position. CHINA is unstoppable and I cannot wait to see that day.

    Supposedly, when the CEO of two companies were to hold talk at a meeting scheduled to be held soon and one of the CEO brought up a special issue of the other CEO’s ill-treating his wife and wanted it to be listed as one of the topics for discussion, do you think the other CEO will agree discussing it or vice versa? This example implies the condition now facing the two countries of USA and China in their talk at Alaska. With only the intention to interfere with the private affair of their counterpart hoping to get a vain success of insulting them but without sincerity, I don’t think it is going to produce any result at all at the not-easy-to-arrange meeting.

    A lot of research needs to be done before I really start accepting and promoting the Chinese. I automatically wish them well because they are fellow human beings. I am definitely on the road to believing in them. FYI... I am a Canadian White Male... if you can link some kind of demographic to that. I do have questions about the Chinese government leadership or dictatorship, or whatever the official terminology is. It seems to me that if a country has a wise, just, forward thinking, caring, and pragmatic leader or dictator, that country could possibly excel in many areas of advancement, without so much bickering that a democratic government brings to the table. What happens if the Dictator turns out to be selfish, corrupt, and brutal? That scenario seems like a huge problem for that country's civilians. How does China protect itself from having a brutal dictator at the top as opposed to a great dictator with the country and it's citizens as his or her highest priority? Perhaps a great dictator is not called a dictator, but I think you know what I mean.

    Why doesn't New China TV translated to Chinese exactly as the English, word for word ? Look at the beginning of the phrase, CHINA IN 5 YEARS AND BEYOND IN ENGLISH BUT IN CHINESE, WHAT CHINA WILL BE IN THE FUTURE, THE CHINESE PHRASE DOESN'T CONTAIN 5 YEARS. As far as I know, the Chinese people don't translate from English to Chinese, word for word, WHY, does anyone know ?

    If I can summarise China's intention for the 21st Century, and that is 'we need to do something productive for this humanity and this one world to survive; that is to lead by example'. The world cannot wait for America to lead us; with its squabbling administration, continued wars, propagate world disunity, violent culture, racism, wealth and health inequality and the likes. America continues to look for adversaries; the media asking the question: "Are we tough enough against China"? This question on western media is propagated so western countries and its people turn against China. Australia did not go into recession in 2008 due to strong economic ties with China.
