We had celebrated the new year and then a couple of days later he was gone. This year had been tough for my family without him around. I wish you strength and hope you stay strong. 2020 is the first year I started doing this pen-pal thing with someone from the other side of the world, and it's truly fascinating to see how much it can help put your own life into perspective. Writing letters ends up being just as much about you as it is about the other person (asking questions and such; reading about their lives; supporting), and that's really helpful and healthy in a world where we're starting to forget how to listen and care for others. I just started wring a second person as well, which is just crazy! It does take up a lot of time, so for me 2 is the max, but like you, I've discovered how cool and helpful penpalling can be :)

Hey, I am currently 7 months behind on my RUclips subscriptions feed, but I finally got to this one and I saw my letter in the montage of letters and that was pretty cool because I honestly had forgotten I had written the letter.

Hey I'm so sorry for your loss and I just want you to know that you have my support and over the past few months with covid I have lost over 5 loved family members to it, and we just need to keep our chins up and never forget.

I don't remember what I wrote when I did this, but I do remember it being a huge help with whatever was stressing me out at that point in time. I started journalling pretty shortly after this, and writing pretty much every day. Organising your thoughts and putting them down on paper has a really therapeutic effect just like writing a letter does, and I'm not sure I would have tried it had I not written in the first place. Thanks for doing this, it was really nice to just have someone to write to. Super cool experiment too, I expected you'd get more than 675 letters back!

In all seriousness perfectly agree with how you got fed up with social media, I was just making a joke.
Receiving a letter from a friend (or stranger i guess) in the mail is the best ! I just asked a friend the other day for his address and I told him :” i love putting a stamp on an envelope, it’s like an apple turnover, it’s so satisfying” ! The issue is that sometimes, my art piece is so freaking cute, I end-up having a hard time sending it LOL !! 😅🤣

My condolences on your parents. It gets easier as time goes on. I like to think that they would rather see you happy about the experiences you've had rather than sad about them being gone. Speaking from personal experience.
So I've this friend, and they're great, but for some reason they started using Twitter and since then they've just been much more bitter and argumentative (with a really serious tone too, like "how dare other people always be wrong" kind of deal). Like, I have no idea what goes on there, but from the little I've seen it's a toxic, toxic place. Glad you're out!

Hey I'm so sorry for your loss and I just want you to know that you have my support and over the past few months with covid I have lost over 5 loved family members to it, and we just need to keep our chins up and never forget.
I did the smart thing and never had a social media account in the first place, unless youtube and reddit counts but those are mostly for memes and hobbies.

Damn, I know you probably won't see this since you said you're staying away from social media, but I hope you're doing okay. It's been a tough year for everyone, but from the sounds of things it's hit you particularly bad. Just hope you're okay.
I don't remember what I wrote when I did this, but I do remember it being a huge help with whatever was stressing me out at that point in time.
I started journalling pretty shortly after this, and writing pretty much every day. Organising your thoughts and putting them down on paper has a really therapeutic effect just like writing a letter does, and I'm not sure I would have tried it had I not written in the first place.
Thanks for doing this, it was really nice to just have someone to write to. Super cool experiment too, I expected you'd get more than 675 letters back!
