I absolutely did this & it helped 100%!! But my symptoms are still there after birth. I feel my pelvic weak and opening my right leg doesn't open so much.
Everyone keeps saying this is v common. In my entire life I didn't come across a single woman who hav had this except myself. The pain is so excruciating.
There's a chance some of the women you know just never talked about it. Different topic, but when my husband and I had fertility challenges, and years later, dealt with a miscarriage, it wasn't until confiding in close friends that we learned how many of them experienced the same thing. Both my mother and my mother-in-law had miscarriage and neither of us ever knew. And in some cases, I don't think they're intentionally not talking about it, rather, it just doesn't come up in conversation. At least, that's what I noticed is the case for me.
Same here. Only that I live in a country where my ob-gyn did not tell me what was wrong with me. I suffered from that from the 5th month of pregnancy but understood why I can't move my legs in the evening only 10 months after giving birth. People around me made me feel as if I was imagining my pain and walking difficulties.
Re rolling over in bed, I use my upper body to push myself to a sitting position, then turn both knees over together while supporting myself up with palms against bed. It helps take pressure off the abdomen and lower back. I’ve had SPD with both of my pregnancies and started these exercises early on in the hope of mitigating pain down the road but of course I wasn’t nearly consistent enough, and it doesn’t help having a 2 year old to chase after and pick up. The exercises that still help the most are cat to camel, and gently squeezing something pliable between the knees. My OB recommended using KT tape (look up videos on how to tape for pregnancy). It worked pretty well throughout the 2nd trimester and beginning of 3rd, but in month 8 my belly has been growing so much and so fast that the adhesive became unbearably itchy. You can also try a belly band. Deep breaths ladies, and remember we are unbelievably strong and made to endure, to rise against, and to support each other.
Thank you so much for sharing all this valuable info Andrea! So many women are struggling from such severe pain from this. I love all your suggestions and experience 💕🙏
I struggle so much with this pain. Causing lack of sleep aa always trying roll over yet so painfull. Even during day uncomfortable when sitting. Please help
Calcium supplements... exercises 3 times a day, a lot of water intake, ergonomic care (like pillow btw legs )stress free environment postpartum....... Very helpful I got relieved by all these.....and I want everyone to heal faster....coz it was very irritating and frustrating pain during my postpartum journey...it took me 3 month to completely get rid of this pain...
My level of pain went up to 8 since 20 weeks of pregnancy (I'm 32 now) I really hope the exercise will help 🙏 Two weeks later: it really did help !! A lot ! And the donkey kicks are my go to immediate relief. Thanks y🙏
After a week of increasing pain I finally figured out that I likely have this condition with my pregnancy! I’ve taken the last few days to stop doing any kind of movement that triggers the pain, and knowing to keep my legs and knees together when moving and taking smaller steps when walking has helped tremendously! Now that those muscles aren’t as irritated as they were, I can do the exercises so much easier. Looking forward to more progress! Thank you SO much for these tips. My spirits already feel so much better not being in so much pain all the time!
My level of pain is only 3, but since I know how bad it gets for some poor women, I decided to start doing your exercises daily and it has helped a lot. Thank you for your videos.
26 weeks recently started the help! Have not seen my doctor about it but the pain 6-8 when walking scared to walk but after this exercises I started pain went away. Helpful tips first time mom here
I'd rate my pain a 5-6 on a regular day and 7 after I run/walk. These workouts have helped me so much! I've been doing your pubic symphysis workouts for 2 weeks (twice daily) and already feel a difference. Thank you!
After I gave birth, the pain in my groin went away until I started doing strenuous workouts regularly (about 6 mo postpartum). After starting to workout, my pain has reached about a 5. It’s continuing to increase, and I really want to heal my pelvis! Thanks for this video!
I’m at maybe a pain level 2 but it only appears in certain positions like rolling over or if I separate my legs too much. Definitely going to do these exercises twice daily and ice to prevent it from getting any worse! Thank you!!
I will try the exercises and come with feedback 08/08/24 Quick edit 31/10/2024 exercises are really helping, I can get on and out of bed on my own without screaming, I can now sit for more than 30minutes without much pain. Going up and down the stairs is no longer a nightmare. I'll come back with full recovery report ❤️
I’ve had PSD since week 17 (now 37 weeks). I believe mine started as an injury (happened in one event) after a strong adduction movement. My pain is around 4-5, and it’s worse after a long day - like my joint is tired and unstable. I’ve adopted the first suggestion you made for rolling over in bed. Keeping Knees together. Anything with my legs apart is really painful. My goal has been to only do movements that are pain free. If there’s, pain, I try a different way or slow movements way down. Glad I found your video! Thanks!
I’m 59 and have this problem. It hurts really bad I feel sorry for any lady who is pregnant and has this pain. I couldn’t imagine the extra belly weight and pain! God bless you 🙏🙏🙏
So happy i found this video and was happy to read some of the comments..I have suffered with this pain during pregnancy and now 16 months after giving birth I still have this horrible pain...on a scale of 8 to 10 when I do alot at home ..... I at times forget about my condition until I release I can hardly walk and the pain is a 10.
My pelvic symphysis opened to 4.6cm during delivery of my son due to the position I was in during pushing him out. I was in the hospital for 5 days and they sent me home with a walker. Thank you for these exercises!! I’m doing physical therapy as well but I’m trying to rehabilitate ASAP so these ideas are also helpful!
@@mareezy so in my case, my progress (closing my separation from 4.6 to 3.4cm with physical therapy) plateaued and I ended up needing surgery. I now have a metal plate and screws holding my pubic symphysis closed and 3 large screws in my back left SI joint because that was the more injured side. I should be fully healed and back to “normal” in February if I let my body heal how it’s supposed to and not walk on it too much
@@ccmthorpe this is going to sound crazy but when they gave me percocet in the hospital, I still had throbbing. It wasn't as good as tylenol with aleve. I was doing 2 caps of 500mg tylenol for a total of 1000mg tylenol every 6 hrs plus the 12 hr aleve. It would stop the throbbing
I saw on another video that you should keep your knees and feet together like a mermaid to avoid stress on the joint and so it heals. This has helped me.
I'm currently in early pregnancy and the pain is 7 or 8 when I'm walking. It's very similar to a bad period cramp for me and I am not a fan. I just found your videos and will be using these exercises and strategies to ease the pain. Praying this helps.
I’m 35 weeks pregnant and my pain level is 10 or anything above that. Hoping the tips and exercises you’ve shared will help me ease out a few levels of this excruciating pain.
My pain is a 9 right now! 21 weeks pregnant with my third baby. I haven’t been able to walk without assistance the past three days. Just found this video and hoping the exercises and advice helps! I have a 3 and 2 year old to take care of daily. It’s been debilitating!
@@anastasiacurnel6126please do suggest if any one know to how to stop the pain, coz my wife's pain is at 9-10..Forget doing any exercises, She is not even able to sleep or even move her legs..She is feeling the pain every minute and we don't know what to do..
So glad I found these videos! Just did my first workout and hopeful it will be helpful! Anything to help will be so appreciated. I’d say mine is a 7-8 at night but 5-7 during the day. Thank you for taking the time to educate and help. Shared to my FB for other mommas I know with similar pain!
Hi Sara, I'm so sorry you are in so much pain :( I really hope it helps you! Did you see this video also ruclips.net/video/lNdwrrTviVU/видео.html Thanks so much for your support! I really appreciate it.
Ugh pain 7-8 started around 20 weeks and is getting worse and worse (32 weeks now but measure 34 weeks) had my babies too close together and didn’t let my body heal 😭
34 weeks pregnant and most days the pain is a level 6-7. I can feel it in the crease of my left thigh. It was still tolerable during the second trimester, but third trimester is killing me. Turning over in bed is the absolute worst, that can go up to an 8-9. Getting up from bed or the couch is about a 7-8. Somehow it gets a bit better during the day but can still feel it :( Hope it goes away after giving birth!
My pain fluctuates between 4 and 7. It started around 20 weeks, I'm in week 34 now and it's getting worse and worse since the baby is getting heavier. I'll try all these strategies. Some comments had me worried it won't go away as soon as the baby is born, which I thought would happen. Another strategy I use is always sitting down when getting dressed to avoid standing in one leg. Standing in one leg is the absolute worst!
I’m 7 days post partum and it’s got worse over the days. My pain is 9... I’m sobbing and can’t even walk or lift my feet. Literally screaming when moving around. The muscles in my abdomen have joined in now thanks to straining to move.
I really thought it was just me I am currently 2 weeks postpartum and my pain started 3 days after delivery at 1st I thought it was just me being sore but then I couldn't walk without help, my husband would carry me because the pain was so intense right now I used a waist band and it's helping but they send me to therapy so I'm waiting for my appointment but I'm trying to look for some exercises to try at home. I didn't think this was even possible 😢 I'm trying to stay positive...
I’m so glad you posted this video! Yesterday my doctor helped me figure out that pubic symphysis is likely what is causing me such pain. But she basically didn’t have any ideas to help. She also didn’t realize a pelvic floor physiotherapist could be helpful during pregnancy, but you shared about it, that’s how I knew to ask. So now I have an appointment next week, and the exercises you’ve shared in this video will give me something to work on til then. Thanks so much Jessica!
My pain is never below a 5. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant. I can't walk without my partner's assistance, holding the wall or crutches most of the time. And getting out of bed or out of the car will have me in tears. My doctor is at a loss on how to help. Tylenol, very gentle movements, sleeping in the recliner instead of in bed and cold baths can sometimes help a little.
Oh I’m so sorry, Karli ... that’s sounds terrible 😢 I so wish I could take the pain away. I’ve heard others say they have to sleep in a recliner as well. Sending you so much strength to get through this. 💪
From 0-10... my first pregnancies I went to the ER because I had to crawl at 18 weeks and that's when I learned about SPD. My second pregnancy SPD was crippling. I was in PT 2x a week up until 37 weeks. I couldnt do prenatal yoga... nothing. I wish I knew how to prevent it or something because we are thinking about our 3rd.
Thanks so much for this, I gave birth to my daughter late January and two days after, I was admitted in the hospital as I couldn't move my legs. Was in the hospital for 2 weeks and the pain reduced from 10 to 6. Av been on drugs since I was discharged and I can't really say I feel much better. I will be trying all your strategies and I hope it works for me. God bless you for sharing this.
@@mareezy ALWAYS LIE DOWN, avoid moving around to speed the healing, Get people to help with cooking and cleaning or laundry. Use pain relief such as diclofenac and paracetamol to ease the pain, and most importantly PRAY. It took exactly 6 months for the pain to vanish, so dont worry, u will be fine.
Me too, after giving birth to my daughter, i readmitted to the hospital because my leg was trembling and the pain score was 10! I had fever and shivering. Cannot walk properly and if i have to make any move the pain would be sharp.
For me, the pain started at week 25 (2 weeks ago) and when it spikes it’s a 10/10. Ended up in the emergency room and haven’t been able to work since it started.
Hello..I gave birth recently normally with vacuum assisted. It's been 4 weeks but my pelvic pain is alot and I'm unable to sleep on any side. Sleeping on bank is really painful. Do recommend what to do. I did yoga seeing your videos which really helped me throughout my pregnancy.
Love your videos! So helpful! I'm dealing with this issue now, probably at a 4 or 5 as far as pain goes. Mostly it bothers me at night when I'm trying to roll over. And I can't really go for long walks anymore or it just causes me more pain. I will try your tips!
Crystal Gibson eek... hope you get some relief. Another mom said sleeping in an arm chair was helpful for at night. Are you pregnant or did you have your baby already?
You're so helpful. I'm in alot of pain! Its friday and I'm avoiding going to the Drs because of this corona virus. Thank you for your video, I bet its helping many expecting mothers. I'm so happy to have found you. I will be binge watching your videos!
Helen Chavez Hi Helen! I’m so sorry you are in pain. It’s so terrible especially when you can’t get your doctor/ physio/chiropractor appt etc 😭 So happy you are finding it helpful :) Are you pregnant now or did you already have your baby?
My pain level is 9/10 it hurts constantly and its excruciating. I haven't gone to the ER but that is only because I know there really isn't anything they can do since being pregnant means no pain relievers. I can hardly walk, I can stand in one spot so long as I have equal weight on both feet, as soon as I go to take a step (no matter how big or small) I'm screaming in pain. Sleeping on my side is also extremely painful. I sleep sitting up because even though it is still uncomfortable, it is the only position that is not excruciating... the only problem with that sleeping position is it aggravates my back, so I can only sleep for a couple hours at a time. Then I have to get up to alleviate pressure on my back. I am at the point of tears and I have 4 more weeks until my due date.
I should also mention that because of covid, I cannot afford to see a physiotherapist or chiropractor. My doctor knows of my issue but has done absolutely nothing to help as she says there is nothing that can be done aside from physiotherapy. I think I may talk to her about getting induced because the pain is unbearable.
OMG. Exactlyy what I'm feeling!!! It's really painful, everytime I needed to get up or walk I always need my husband to be there to assist me on walking. I can't even go the bathroom alone or even sleep on my side 😭
Get some crutches! It's the only thing that's saving me until my due date. I tried a walker and it didn't help. Crutches make it tolerable to get to the bathroom and kitchen for food.
@@IreneandCoI'm a doctor myself working in Obs and Gyn and going through this. It really is a night mare and more so when only analgesia or induction at term are the only "treatment" options available.
This is my 3rd pregnancy with severe SPD. I don’t know what to do. My first pregnancy was excruciating my SPD hit me so hard at 33 weeks. I was in physio therapy 4 days a week. Could not walk after 38 weeks. 2nd pregnancy, I got it at 20 weeks and did physical therapy 2-3 times a week. It was not as bad as my first. Now with my third I’m 15 weeks and already in excruciating pain. I’ve been to the chiro 3 times this week. My pubic area and sacrum and hip are in so much pain. I’m desperate for relief so I’m going to try this. 🙏
My child is now 11 years old and I suffered with SPD flares every month when pre menstrual. I am a trans man and I have just started testosterone therapy (3 months in) and my SPD pain has virtually disappeared which confirmed my suspicion that even after pregnancy, how much of the inflammation was triggered by hormones. The thing that helps the most when the joint pain flares up is compression shorts, they take the pain from a 7 or 8 down to a 3 and allow me to get on with my day. Secondly, my physio advised to carry a plastic bag around with me to sit on when in a car making swivelling round with both knees pressed together far easier as it reduces the friction from your clothing and the seat.
Hello! Thank you so much for these tips :) That is both interesting and super helpful. It does make sense about the hormones. I'll make sure to include these tips and I hope others read this comment too who are in pain. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and help others :)
Hi there - ive just started with the pain and want to cry through lack of help and advice. Especially in lowdown with the NHS being so swamped. Thank you for posting! I can find two videos and you reference a series of four - please can you share the links to all 4 videos as i just cant seem to locate them - thank you
Jessica, thanks so much for your videos. It would be 4-6 for me but there was one day I got a strong 8-9, as I wasn't able to stand up and walk properly. It was the day I found your other video for the exercises. They are a life saver now. Now it's only hard for me to get up in the morning and it hurts when I try to stand up from sitting position. I don't feel much pain when I just walk
Jemma Karapetyan Hi Jemma 👋 eek.. 4-6 is still quite a lot of pain, but I’m glad you aren’t getting the 8-9 again. Glad the exercises are helping:) Hope you are staying healthy and safe now as well
Unable to do donkey kicks...pain scale 9 and unable to sleep for long on left side. If I stand or walk for more than 10-15 mins my left thigh becomes numb...
See an osteopath who is also specialise for pregnancy. Mine was so bad on my last pregnancy, I had a walking stick. But after few sessions, I was completely relieved. I am afraid that you will have to pay. So sorry 🥺. I know how excruciating it can be. Receive all the healing you need.
Can’t do donkey kicks either. Pain level 5. 30 weeks. Just started about a week ago. It’s worse at night. Also have bladder pain. I’ve already gotten two adjustments. Better than day 1
I’m annoyed 14 no post partum and I’m just learning about this I wish I knew about this during my pregnancy. I try chiro but I’m frustrated because no one around me understands my pain thanks for this video best I’ve seen I will definitely start these exercises.
Mine started before my first prenatal visit at or around week 7-8. First started in my right hip then moved bilaterally. At around week 10 I started noticing the pubic symphysis pain. The pain majority of the time 4-5/10. When I’m on my feet for long and at night then it goes up to 7/10. I have noticed improvement with light exercise, and finding ways to take a break during a long work day.
I am a victim 😢started after my fist pregnancy last year..rendered me immobile for 2 months,I tot enemies were out to get me cos women and doctors around me claimed my case was new and not ordinary to dem 😳I saw hell 😢
Same, my daughter born in February. I couldn’t walk after she was born. Worse pain ever. Physical therapist at the hospital said I was the 2nd case in 12 years of her being there. Pubic symphysis diastasis.
I m neither pp nor pregnant my younger one is 7 years . Suffering from pelvic pain with 9 rating it has been a year even I have lower back pain ;I could not find any physiotherapist for pelvic pain in India so please help me with same to get rid of this terrible pain.Your video gives me little hope.
4-6 I have a high pain tolerance but I sit at a desk all day and getting up from sitting down for awhile or getting up from sitting period really hurts. Today I tried ice for the first tine and it’s been a life changer. Wish I could ice myself all day!
Thanks for the pointers. I’m in pain 24/7. I’d say I’m at a 5 just laying down and up to an 8 or so if I’m moving at all. I am being mindful of how I move. It is my left side near the groin area. It feels like something is literally broken down there. My 3rd pregnancy and never experienced this until now. Whew I have a long 5 months to go. 😢
My pain has been 9-10 for about 5 days now on and off but mostly on. I am drowning and can barely walk at work. I’m honestly in so much pain I’m afraid to try these exercises. I tried chiropractor yesterday but not sure if it helped and I’m sore or the pain is the same. I have PT in 3 days and I’m so scared I won’t make it through the weekend. This pain is excruciating
I would say my pain is at about a 7 during and after working all day (im an esthetician /lash stylist so i sit all day). So far a saddle stool has helped some. Very excited to add the exercises and see if that helps 😫 The pain is nearly crippling and my midwife basically blew me off and said if i had SPD, I'd be in a walker. My pain started around 13 weeks and im 20 weeks now.
Your midwife was rude. She shouldn't have told you you're not in pain. Only you know if you were. Like what the heck? I hope you've healed alright. It took me over a year to the first time around
How To Make Dinner oh no!! I’m just targeting all the problems, but lots of moms LOVE pregnancy! I’ll have to bring Octavia over to give you her sweetness before you decide 😉
I won't change my pregnancies for the world, I would go through all that pain and suffering all over just for my babies. All my pregnancies were horrid, but in the end it was worth it. From the time you hear there heart beat for the first time, to there first kicks,, to constant all day nausea, aching ass boobies, heartburn, sever pelvic pain, vomiting, them kicks that just shoot through your stomach and when they are just nice and comfy setting in by your spine, swollen ass legs ankles feet . Its all worth it in the end. When they hand them to your arms, you will truly know unconditional love 💘. I had to have c-sections for all of mine. High risk pregnancies. My pelvic pain is on a level epic 10!! But I didn't really get much of any break between my last 2 . I had found out I was was pregnant again 4/5 months post partum c-section, non fun down there lol 😆 😅 but I know I need to strengthen this pubsis symsitis mess. It's god awful, sex , sitting, walking, trying to sleep, bend , roll over etc. I want to scream my damn head of, do not let me get started with the blasted heavy ass periods either! 😒 but I'm getting on this durn reform and it could only get better, I think I reached the most worst on the scale ⚖ 😅 🙃 baby dust you. If your scared/nervous, very understandable. Just do the exercises before you get pregnant, during, and after. I'm sure you'll put your body in a much better situation to support your growing little one, then I did. Good luck to you ^_^ 💜💙💚💜🙏
I'm a first time mom, and I'm currently 1 day away from 22 wks. My pain level is about 7-8. I only feel it whenever I'm rolling over, getting out of bed, or lifting my leg.
Am pregnant now its 9 month .i have lot of pelvic pain when i sleep .and going to change my position from one side to other .is it help me to reduce pain
I have tried different strategy to roll over .. put pillow to the side at which u want to move and put your body weight on that pillow using your elbows move your other leg towards first.., this will decrease the distance between the legs .. and when you wholly put your legs and weight over the pillow slowly take out the pillow .. this will reduce the pain upto 60 percent
Thank you for this! I had SPD with my first pregnancy and it definitely got up to a 9 or 10. My doctor didn’t acknowledge it until I was about 7 months along but chiropractic and physiology helped a little from that point on. I’m just now pregnant again (very early) and already feeling some twinges. I’m going to try to do the exercises at least once a day to try to prevent it from getting bad this time. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
This!!! I’m pregnant with my first and I’ve been in excruciating pain since 26-27 weeks and no one believed me. My OB told me at my most recent appointment that being unable to walk was “normal” and that “the only cure for this is giving birth.”
A former PT of mine said if you can’t do donkey kicks you can drag your pointer foot back and return it back to position. Regardless, it helps immensely to contract your lower abdominals to stabilize yourself during thar exercise. Don’t just lift a heavy leg without grounding yourself!
I just got home from a 3 day stay at the hostel because of this ...they gave me crutches and symbalta ...im 24 weeks pregnant...and my pain it definitely at a 9
Never had a pregnancy. I run half marathons and ride horses (Dressage). I believe I strained my joint squeezing too hard with my legs riding, working on a difficult movement, and over a few months may have pulled on that joint too much. I would score mine a 7 at times. I have gone from competing in trail running to can't run around the block.
I do not have pain on pubis bone until I Press with my fingers... but my adductors pain when I turn around in bed or after a 10 min walk. Difficult to put my jeans on while standing on one leg. Will these exercises help with adductor pain as well? Thanks for ur help
I had mild pain for maybe a month while walking but just this past week or two (I’m 25 weeks) it has gotten pretty intense at all hours of the day. I’d say a solid 5 and I’m desperate for info on how to reduce it. I’ll try the exercises, I told my midwife and she gave me a belly band but idk how much it helps
Mine is 10,I have all that pain including my hips and waist too. Am 3weeks postpartum but can't carry anything yet even a weight of 1kg hurts,I can't walk properly, I can't even sit for ore than 15mins cause the coccyx hurts. Its so terrible 😢
I'm glad to finally find some helpful info though as I been really scared of it getting worse like it has past few weeks. I've noticed it is way worse at night. I also did a lil more research and found alot of what I do could be making it worse (mostly how I sit which is legs crossed, or on the couch I sit kinda tilted)
I'm watching this as I'm pregnant and just found out the term for what I'm dealing with. I've noticed it's really bad when I stand up, get out of bed, push a full grocery cart or when I sit crooked on the couch. Sometimes I feel it when I'm walking which is even grosser. For me it's only 4-5 but I'm scared the further I get into the pregnancy it'll get worse. I didn't have this issue with my daughter but this boy got me hurting! Funny part is I use the first technique to roll over in bed. Not that I learned it I just kinda noticed that way wasn't painful. I've had this pain the whole pregnancy sadly so I have been suffering for weeks and I'm only 12 weeks almost 13 into this pregnancy and noticed this pain a few weeks in somehow. As soon as I noticed I was pregnant I noticed this pain which was my biggest sign I feel.
Hi did it ever get better for you ? I’m currently going into my 14th week and I’ve been dealing with this for weeks now :-( I’m only hoping that it will get better I’m nervous it’ll get worse
@@kesherawarren2272 I had to go to physical therapy and they taught me different stretches and exercise stuff to help. it didnt go away but it did help alot!
I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my second child after having my first last year. I told my doctor two weeks ago I was having this issue and just because my husband is in the military and I asked for a note for his higher up. That I need to be on bedrest and he’ll need to stay longer at home. She didn’t put me on bed rest. Now I’m at a 10 pain scale. It takes me 5 minutes to get out of bed in the morning. I can barely walk on most days but have to push through. Even with sleeping with a pillow im between my legs have stopped working. I have to constantly be up and moving because my first baby is well developing and growing and we don’t have the means to pay for childcare so I’m always up and down. Making sure because of my health I’m not affecting or not doing the best I can for her. They only gave me a pregnancy belt to help. And that barely helps. Idk what to do 🤦🏻♀️ I want to try these exercises but im so worried I’ll be doing damage are these exercises okay for 30weeks + pregnancy???
I've been rolling over by straightening my legs, keeping them together, then rolling. It hurts too much to keep my knees bent and causes the joint to pop if I do it that way. With my 1st the pain didn't start til 3rd trimester and got up to a 9-10 the closer I got to delivery. I'm pregnant with my 2nd and started feeling pain at beginning of 2nd trimester, possibly because of using one of my adductors too hard and straining it. I'm 20 weeks now and already up to a 7 when moving around. I see a Physical Therapist and Chiropractor at my work (luckily work at a Chiropractic office) who regularly check my pelvic alignment and that helps. But they don't specialize in pregnancy or pelvic floor so I'm hoping your exercises will do the trick! 🤞🤞
We hear about this pain with ladies in pregnancy. Is there anybody out there who gets the pains after menopause? Can these exercises help with SPD (symphysis pubic disfunction) in this later stage of life?
Hi Sobue, You can likely do most of them, but depending on your severity you may not be able to do the rows with a weight. You can get someone to look at your stomach or record your stomach with your phone underneath while you do it to make sure you aren't getting any bulging while you do it. If you do then I would do that one without weights. If you still aren't sure then check with your doctor or physio :)

Same here. Only that I live in a country where my ob-gyn did not tell me what was wrong with me. I suffered from that from the 5th month of pregnancy but understood why I can't move my legs in the evening only 10 months after giving birth. People around me made me feel as if I was imagining my pain and walking difficulties.
Everyone I've talked to about it doesn't seem to relate at all. They know what ligament pain is.
Thank you for your channel!
Did yours go away after birth? 🙏
Very helpful
I got relieved by all these.....and I want everyone to heal faster....coz it was very irritating and frustrating pain during my postpartum journey...it took me 3 month to completely get rid of this pain...
My level of pain went up to 8 since 20 weeks of pregnancy (I'm 32 now) I really hope the exercise will help 🙏
Two weeks later: it really did help !! A lot ! And the donkey kicks are my go to immediate relief. Thanks y🙏
Thank You Veronika Pop, where do I find the donkey kicks..??
After a week of increasing pain I finally figured out that I likely have this condition with my pregnancy! I’ve taken the last few days to stop doing any kind of movement that triggers the pain, and knowing to keep my legs and knees together when moving and taking smaller steps when walking has helped tremendously! Now that those muscles aren’t as irritated as they were, I can do the exercises so much easier. Looking forward to more progress! Thank you SO much for these tips. My spirits already feel so much better not being in so much pain all the time!
Hi dr. .urs cured ?
My level of pain is only 3, but since I know how bad it gets for some poor women, I decided to start doing your exercises daily and it has helped a lot. Thank you for your videos.
26 weeks recently started the help! Have not seen my doctor about it but the pain 6-8 when walking scared to walk but after this exercises I started pain went away. Helpful tips first time mom here
29weeks, level 5 when walking. I was afraid that my baby was coming early! Thank you Jessica for the video and tips!!
I'd rate my pain a 5-6 on a regular day and 7 after I run/walk. These workouts have helped me so much! I've been doing your pubic symphysis workouts for 2 weeks (twice daily) and already feel a difference. Thank you!
Hi Jenna! Eek..that’s a lot of ongoing pain 😢 So happy it’s starting to help :) Great job on doing it twice a day 🙌
After I gave birth, the pain in my groin went away until I started doing strenuous workouts regularly (about 6 mo postpartum).
Thank you!!
I will try the exercises and come with feedback 08/08/24
Quick edit 31/10/2024 exercises are really helping, I can get on and out of bed on my own without screaming, I can now sit for more than 30minutes without much pain.
How are u doing now? I'm at the hospital now because of it. It's so painful and frustrating
I should be fully healed and back to “normal” in February if I let my body heal how it’s supposed to and not walk on it too much
@@ccmthorpe o no, I'm so sorry to hear that!!! Man, it's so hard being a woman. Are you pain free at least?
@@mareezy I’m currently coming off of these pain meds and the pain really sucks but I’d rather deal with it than keep taking opiates
Reading this made me not feel so alone ❤️ I’m 23 weeks with my 2nd and same! So debilitating!! I have a 3 year old.
Same, I can't walk at all! I can barely take a step to situate myself!
@@anastasiacurnel6126please do suggest if any one know to how to stop the pain, coz my wife's pain is at 9-10..Forget doing any exercises, She is not even able to sleep or even move her legs..She is feeling the pain every minute and we don't know what to do..
My physio also recommended the pillow between the legs when sleeping and it made such a huge difference!
Super happy you have a video for this. Suffering the pain now at 31 wks. :( laying down in bed, rolling and getting up is the hardest for me. 😭
So sorry you are in so much pain :( I hope you get relief. Sending a big virtual hug
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV Thank youuu I hope so too! Started trying these yesterday.
Me too 😢
34 weeks pregnant and most days the pain is a level 6-7.
How are you? I hope you are doing great. I'm at the hospital because of it. Very painful
omg this is me right now :(
How it is after giving birth?
My pain fluctuates between 4 and 7. It started around 20 weeks, I'm in week 34 now and it's getting worse and worse since the baby is getting heavier. I'll try all these strategies. Some comments had me worried it won't go away as soon as the baby is born, which I thought would happen. Another strategy I use is always sitting down when getting dressed to avoid standing in one leg. Standing in one leg is the absolute worst!
Did it go away when you had your baby?
I’m 7 days post partum and it’s got worse over the days. My pain is 9... I’m sobbing and can’t even walk or lift my feet.
Literally screaming when moving around. The muscles in my abdomen have joined in now thanks to straining to move.
This is me now... 1 wk pp and crying. How are you feeling now?
Until when did you experience this? My baby is now 5month old but still experience a little pain. 🥺
3 weeks postpartum and still cant get up from bed and cant walk..
Im really struggling with the pain too its horrible i cant even move
Thanks so much Jessica!
level of pain: 0. I just watched this video to learn about it. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and really appreciate all you offer on RUclips, Jessica!
Ooo love these strategies and love those roll-overs! Awesome video, as always, Jessica!
Balanced to the Core Thank you, Gretchen!
4 strategies which help a lot of women. Thanks Jessica.
I hope so!
Helping husband is a good tip to help the pain
How are you doing? My story is similar to yours. Do you have any tips
@@adedayookafor605 o nice, so you are completely healed and pain free right now?
@@mareezy yes.
Hey i am in the same position as you.. have your condition improved? i need some hope this is making me so stressed 😢

Just started your videos today. I’m 34 weeks pregnant and regularly at a 2, it goes up to an 8, depending on movements. I hope this will help!
Im a level 10 and 2 weeks postpartum. Unable to get out of bed and walk . Glad i found this video, about to do these exercises. We can do this mamas.
Will these help with pelvic girdle pain as well?

Thanks for the pointers. I’m in pain 24/7. I’d say I’m at a 5 just laying down and up to an 8 or so if I’m moving at all. I am being mindful of how I move. It is my left side near the groin area.
How common is this type of pain? I must say, this channel is starting to have a lot of impact on my decision whether or not to get pregnant!
Good luck to you ^_^ 💜💙💚💜🙏
Can you do these when pregnant please
I'm a first time mom, and I'm currently 1 day away from 22 wks. My pain level is about 7-8. I only feel it whenever I'm rolling over, getting out of bed, or lifting my leg.

Hello, thanks for your video what excercise can one do for pubic symphasis widening after birth
9-10 for sure especially right before childbirth
Great video. Thanks!!
A former PT of mine said if you can’t do donkey kicks you can drag your pointer foot back and return it back to position. Regardless, it helps immensely to contract your lower abdominals to stabilize yourself during thar exercise. Don’t just lift a heavy leg without grounding yourself!
I just got home from a 3 day stay at the hostel because of this ...they gave me crutches and symbalta ...im 24 weeks pregnant...and my pain it definitely at a 9
Did they talked to you about getting a csection or how far apart is your joint apart?
I went to the er and all they did was send me home saying theres nothing they can do but for me to go to physical therapy 🙄.
Hi, thanks for the information. Will all 4 strategies apply to a pregnant woman- 7th month?
9 to 10 even not moving. I cant do any of these it makes me cry
Same here. Pain score 8
Mine is 10 I can barely make it to the toilet or sit on the toilet. Fed up as I am losing so much sleep.
Is doing ballet, which heavily engages the inner thigh muscles, good or bad? Jumps I suppose don't help...
I will try these strategies
I hope they help 💞
Also, try sleeping in a recliner with your knees together :) or you water exercises are great too!
Pain is at probably an 8, hoping these help. I'm in my second trimester and I feel like the pain is getting worse. Thanks for the tips.
Oh no... that sounds terrible. I hope you get some relief. Another mom says sleeping in a recliner helped a lot as well.
The close knee one helps the best

I'm glad to finally find some helpful info though as I been really scared of it getting worse like it has past few weeks. I've noticed it is way worse at night. I also did a lil more research and found alot of what I do could be making it worse (mostly how I sit which is legs crossed, or on the couch I sit kinda tilted)
26 weeks and pain level is 7
Rolling over is a nightmare. Getting out of bed or the car is so painful. Ice packs help but not for long!
Crutches and physio band and adjustments
So helpful, right!
Level 5 pain, Ice and Pelvic floor physio adjustments and ICE
So helpful :)
We hear about this pain with ladies in pregnancy. Is there anybody out there who gets the pains after menopause? Can these exercises help with SPD (symphysis pubic disfunction) in this later stage of life?
Physio never helped me and t’s been 6months postpartum. I hope this works!
Hello , thank you for video . Can I do these while having diastasis recti ?
Hi Sobue, You can likely do most of them, but depending on your severity you may not be able to do the rows with a weight. You can get someone to look at your stomach or record your stomach with your phone underneath while you do it to make sure you aren't getting any bulging while you do it. If you do then I would do that one without weights. If you still aren't sure then check with your doctor or physio :)
Pregnancy and Postpartum TV thank you do much for replying. Like wise can I also follow and do diastasis exercises along with these ? I have 2 and half finger gap?
