Great video, looking forward to my Ribelle arriving!

Your instructions here are at odds with those in owners manual. Which says to remove chain guard, measure from rear of upper guard pad and measure on centre line of chain. Manual edition Rev.01-2020

Can you elaborate on the "30mm" movement? It seems like in the video he is already within 30mm and by the end of the video before he puts it back together, he's still under 30mm?? It's very confusing. My bike had a very loose chain that was sitting on the swingarm and tapping it constantly, probably sawing-through my guards... But when measuring 30mm with my caliper as per this video, it says i'm still only around 25mm or so? I don't understand.

@@twrcrew8852 all I can suggest is to refer to your owners manual, there very clear instructions. I prefer to use a steel rule resting on top of swinging arm and read lower measurement first then lift chain and take the 2nd reading.

@@jamesferro5715 I came to youtube since the manual alone wasn't clear enough I suppose lol. I'm a visual learner. The steel rule was instrumental - no pun intended. This video is borderline dangerous, as I was attempting to follow it move for move.
Makes you wonder how they'd do chains in shop..

1:30 remember, you don't have to floss every link ... only the ones you want to keep (sorry, I just got back from my dentist)

There are more than one method to check the freeplay of the chain. The manual states one method. This is another method.
Either method will work will, the key takeaway is, ensure you do ALL the steps properly, and generally in the correct order :)
Also, chain adjustments can be made with the bike on the ground, however it is recommended that since you are there, go ahead and clean / re lube the chain as well. A well kept bike is a well running bike.
One thing I DO caution folks, when making the adjustments, you very well might overshoot a bit and have to go and re loosen the chain. Either way / No matter what. The adjustment screw, where it hits that little aluminum base plate, make SURE the wheel is TIGHT on that, otherwise your readings are off.
The way you are changing chain tightness is by actually moving the entire wheel forwards or backwards. If you go spinning a lot of slack into that adjustment but don't move the wheel to properly engage the stop plate which is moved by your changes, it'll be off and you will have to redo or you could possibly damage bike / injure yourself in extreme cases.
So basically make adjustment, make sure wheel is fully engaged on the stop plate, if you loosened, tap the wheel, or back the bike up slightly, do something to make sure the wheel is FIRMLY against that plate, THEN snug it and re check your chain freeplay. Once you are happy, double check all your tightenings and torques and you are good.

The chain slack measuring procedure is totally different from what is written in the owner's manual!

1:32 I was learned to lube the chain on the inside. You just spray it on the outside. Which is much easier to do off course. So I can forget my lesson?
BTW spraying the Ribelle chain on the inside is near impossible.

WARNING: Idk why but the way he is doing it here is very very different from what it says to do in the owners manual. Measurements must be taken from the end of the guard, and the guard must be removed.
