Okay, I know this was a long one, but there's a ton to cover with the Eva Ribelle, feel free to use the chapters to jump around. What do you think about electric bikes? Are you looking to buy one or still waiting for them to get better?
You have 25 days to gain 4.2k subs. COME ON 100k before 2023 🏍 You should do a sit down and reflect on this year video. Many of us would like to hear it. Cheers !
The amount of energy in the battery of that thing should be equivalent (after accounting for inefficiencies) to 2 gallons of fuel.. Do you find that realistic? If that's so, we need another 50% improvement in battery, few more chargers, and then we are there.
The most comprehensive and fair review of Energica that I've ever seen, it's beatiful. Also, every grown man that has ever ridden an Energica has giggled like they've never giggled before.
All credit to Energica for putting their bike and their CEO on the line. All credit to Spite for, apparently, keeping his objectivity in the review..despite any normal temptation to cosy up to Stefano/Energica.
@@alexandercoll4863 nah you got 112 miles of range on the highway so plenty of juice as long as you keep the ride short so around 60 or so miles. Main issue is tesla is the only lvl 3 charge service that actually builds a decent number if charges at each location.
@@vector6977 yeah, electrics got thier own sound to them that kind of grows on you. Rolling down the street sounding like a gaggle of tie fighters is pretty cool in its own way.
Kudos to Energica and the CEO for making this review happen, and of course to Spite! While I'm not in the market for such a machine as I had little interest in an electric bike, the shear excitement of riding the Ribelle RS clearly came through and opened my eyes to at the minimum wanting to experience one firsthand at some point. The future looks exciting! Great review!
I know that people talk about the noise not being there in electrics - but it sounds like a tiny jet engine spooling. It's like Streethawk all over again. Love it!
I agree it sounds amazing, but probably not so much if you cruise at a steady speed for a long time, the steady whine would get annoying. It sounds best speeding up and slowing down all the time, best for twisty roads. Personally I'd like to see one of these electrics engineered to be as quiet as possible for extra stealthy squidding purposes.
Not anytime in the near future for me. I ride one of the bikes that gets the worst mpg of any bike, a mt10. The days of these gorgeous sounding pure petrol machines are numbered, I'm glad I was around to enjoy them!
Man, I KNEW you'd get some good support for your channel but this is just going above and beyond. I hope you continue to grow and achieve higher levels of success!
@@brodygagne7211 it's awesome seeing good people support good people! Don't know how Spite feels about this one but most of us feel this way! We love ya champ and FUCK Yammie!
Super cool bike, can't wait for further improvements and innovations in the future, honestly, being involved at the start of a revolution is pretty damn cool
Wow! That is a great looking bike, and I would love to hear those square cut gears in person. If I had the dough... Guess I'll keep saving my pennies. Also, Wow, what a Get for the Channel. Thank you Energica, Stephano, Spite and Magic Toaster!
Great video! The extended giggle when you first started really says a lot. A friend of mine who has ridden his whole life has one and he loves it. Quick note: we should different mists between a few terms. Kilowatt = kW = the power rating of an electric motor (analogous to horsepower in an ICE). kWh = kilowatt-hour = the battery capacity (analogous to fuel in the tank, which gives you range). It’s super common to mix these up as they are very similar sounding but in terms of talking about a motorcycle they couldn’t be farther apart. You could build a bike with 100 kWh of battery for ridiculous range with a puny 10kW of power. The cool thing about the electric units though is that it’s easy to see how they relate. Our puny power long range bike should theoretically go for 10 hours at “full throttle” 10kW. 10kW * 10h = 100kWh. A bit of a simplification but helps understanding how a bike’s battery translates to range.
GREAT video. Details and objective, which is exactly what we need when searching for a new bike. Big fans of yours over here. Grats on 100k. Get that checkmark. Keep killing it man.
Spite! Take a step back and look at what you are achieving on this channel!!! You've come such a long way in such a short time since your departure from YN!!! Keep up the great work 🎉👏🎉👏
This is a pretty good review. I've actually had a Ribelle for just under a year, so close to hitting 10k miles! Took it from the UK down over the alps to Slovenia and back home via Berlin, absolutely amazing in the alpine switchbacks, a real purists riding experience since you don't have to constantly balance the engine/gears. I keep it in sport/full regen all the time, never bother with modes. Range hasn't been as big a deal as I expected, once you get up in the mountains 60% lasts a long time once the twisties get tight but on more open road you have to learn a little restraint. Motorways are the worst, avoiding them has been my big compromise but motorways suck on bikes anyway. I honestly think the range is enough, there are technical issues with thermal management on serial charge stops that would be a bigger priority for me but aren't feasible to solve yet.
@@LongDistanceMotorcycleFans depends on the conditions, usually average about 115 top to tail, but rarely use all of that. Up in the mountains it actually stretches longer because corners keep your speed down anyway, I could certainly have more but my experience is the range is "enough".
Nice to read positive real-life feedback of people actually riding the bike. It is useless to hear that the range is not enough, from people that never actually travelled with an electric bike. I did not do long travels with my zero DS. So I also can't really comment on it. What I see that in real live situations I can easily ride for 2 to 3 hours without recharging. Which is for me, also the time to take a break.
Thermal management? How quickly do you connect the charger? General rule of thumb with lithium batteries is to let the battery rest and cool down before charging. Something charging stations don't intuit and you will degrade your battery faster. Have you experienced any degradation from your battery recently?
I have a Surron Ultra Bee on the way. Its no electric rocket like this thing but for 6k its a steal. The biggest issue with electric now is really just cost. We already have borderline acceptable range and tons of power but the comparable ICE is like half the price. That being said never having to go to a gas station is priceless. Also in the case of a dirt bike, not making noise is a massive boost to let me ride in places I could never before.
I rode the LiveWire once. My take on these is that really for 99% of the time, you should just be in Eco mode, where you get good range, and let's be honest, it's still beyond stupid fast. You open these modes up for specific uses, but the idea of riding on full power 100% of the time like you do on a modern 1k ICE bike I think is backwards. It should be more like, "Here's how it does in Eco Mode, damn that's still fast" and then you have face-melt fast for those times you're down to blast through a charge in the battery.
Damn this really is the best, most thorough review of any electric motercycle I've ever seen, hopefully they just keep evolving and eventually they can get the price down to 12k now that would interest me alot. Thanks spite!
I would love one of these and will probably be in the market for one in a few years. Sadly, the price will have to come down some before I can afford it. Zero has been pulling some shady stuff with their pay-to-unlock fiasco. I respect Energica more. I just don't have the money for such a fine machine right now. Maybe when EVs become more common the price will drop.
If I had money, and lived in a warmer state then I would definitely grab one of these. Hopefully they start improving the range on these things in the future.
Batteries are getting better over time. Cars are getting range about the same as ICE and charging to 80% as fast as 30 minutes. The new KIA as almost as fast in the quarter mile as a Lamborghini Aventadore.
Batteries at a mass scale are still in its infancy. Im sure people are sick of hearing it but i bet even 10 years from now solid state or other new battery chemistries will become more mainstream and energy density WILL increase consistently with time. Just imagine 20% more range and power in the same package for the same price. That's the trend every 10 years give or take. ICE is lucky to get a few percent of efficiency every decade, its already a "maxed out" tech.
@@rmzxr4395 Bro what fire risk lol. There is LITERALLY less than a one in a million chance your battery burst into flames. That is a real statistic. Stop spreading propaganda.
I have a 2018 Zero S, and a 2021 Livewire One and have done some reviews/updates on both. I REALLY want to get my hands on an Energica Eva Ribelle RS+ or an Energica Ego+. They're great looking bikes, and if Sam from NewZeroLand owns 3...you know they're damn good! Great video!
Could you name some of them? I am genuinely interested. I for my part can see the current problems, but I think that there is also a lot of opportunity. For example would the weight of the battery and the construction of the motorcycle, if it was done right and the battery was split in 4 individual batteries, allow you to actually change the battery out for a fully charged one, at the gas station. This would really allow you to have zero charging time, if you want and it would allow you to make fast, long range trips, without having to constantly stop and wait for a while to charge.
@@sepro5135 That would be ideal but not really possible in the given infrastructure, you also have to take into account that there isn’t just one battery design. My issues are price compared to gas bikes, total range, and downtime (for now), ridiculous battery designs that are integrated into the chassis, as well as the ethical hypocrisy of how lithium is gathered when this is supposed to be a “green” alternative. On a more personal note I think the motorcycle designs are gaudy, lacking of a real exhaust note, no shifting (boring), and they have no character aside from going 0-60 really fast, which for a motorcycle isn’t really a selling point because they all do that.
@@Saint_Arod Interesting points! When it comes to the hard facts, you are definitely right, although I feel like there is potential in the idea if swapping batteries (you just need a standardized system and just a little additional infrastructure). Although that may not make much sense in western countries, when you look at the streets and airquality of India for example, if the right technology is there, it could make a real difference. But that’s besides the point. Lithium is always an interesting case, as a lot of it is also mined under good working conditions, and it can make CO2 wise sense. But in the case of motorcycles I am not 100% sure about the latter. Concerning the design: I disagree, but I don’t have that sophisticated of a taste and to each his I suppose.
@@sepro5135 Yeah for sure, honestly not trying to rag on them those are just my reasons 😅. E-vehicles in general will definitely have a place in the future, but in the way of corporate soullessness that has found it’s place in every other faucet of life just leave my thumpers alone! There’s just a certain beauty that I found in mechanics that can’t compare, having each individual part come together in a living machine that you have complete control over is just unrivaled.
Really sexy looking bike, the performance....well the laughter every time you twist the throttle says something VERY positiive. I agree that we're not ready for 100% electric, but as a secondary bike... it is definitely on the short list! Great video - thanks! I'm the author of "Ride Captains and Tail-Gunners".
Amazing review and really solid summary at the end. My only complaint is that you pronounced Energica wrong, but it's the way everybody in the US pronounces it lol.
I get the giggles part but I'm not ready to give up the glorious sound track of an ICE engine in a sport bike. For $25K, I can think of a couple other bikes I'd have instead. Interesting and well done review- thanks!
@@SimonWoodburyForget an atom is much smaller than a leaf lol. Buy earplugs. Failing that go spend idiot money on a suped up leaf blower for the price of a small family car 😂
I got to rip around on one of these while my harley was in for a tire change and my normally very deep bass voice reached the most beautiful sorano as I giggled like a choir boy. I want one.
I’ll be keeping my 12r for life for a few reasons, but when electric becomes more affordable/second hand market starts to develop etc, I’m all in for 90% of the riding I actually do.
It's got the Spite giggle of approval, so it's got me interested. And being an Italian bike that doesn't need constant servicing is always a plus. That range though...... It's just got the range for a Nasho run - Royal National Park, south of Sydney, our local version of the Nürburgring - but that would get old real quick. There's a lot of other brilliant rides around Sydney, but it would take more than half the charge just to get there & back, leaving not a lot in the tank for pure giggle time. With our local charging infrastructure still being in the stone age you probably wouldn't risk the ride anyway. When charging infrastructure improves & battery manufacturing hits critical mass, lowering the cost, I'm all in, but for now it's a "not yet" from me.
I'm in a very similar place. I think these bikes are so much fun, but the range and charge times still hold them back. I'm definitely going to be watching what Energica does in the next few years though, they're crushing it right now.
Give it time Bros. It's still early days, range will go up, charging times down and public chargers are going to get as common as gas stations in a few years.
Thanks Great Video ! gotta remember any big bore ice bike gives the same "range anxiety" you mileage drops the faster you go. try pacific coast highway south of big sur, those twisties as speed will drain your tank quickly, and gas stations are not very close and close early evening. you can find a electrical outlet easier than a gas pump in many rural locations.
Awesome video and liking more electric motorcycle options. I still like the sound (weight and range 😜) of a 4-cyl engine but I also like differences electric bike offers. Also subscribed to @EV-Engineer 👍
If you laugh within the first 20sec of riding you know it cant go wrong xD Bought my first motorcycle just over a year ago, got my license about 4 months ago and i am gona do my best to get an energica eva next year. Totaly fallen in love with the design, chargerate, distans per charge and yes, the 80's scifi-sound.
I have an electric scooter that goes 60mph. And tbh electric torque feels unreal. No wait for combustion to start you just start zipping. Extremely fun. An electric motorcycle I think is like 50x more tun
Love how objectively you looked at this bike. I would definitely buy it if I could afford it. We have an excellent charging infrastructure over most of the province and free charging in a lot of places. It has enough range to get me anywhere people are. It would make an awesome toy for our roads in BC.
I’ve had my Ribelle for three years now - it quickly become my primary vehicle. I did a 6,000 mile ride (round trip west coast to east coast), had no problems with the bike nor with charging. Do I wish I also had a gas bike as a back-up? Nope 😊
@@ZoahPorre I can't answer your question for the energica. But I have a zero DS and the real live range numbers are mostly inline with the manufacturer numbers. And in practice it is even better. Because they state for example range at 112 km/h. And you think you ride 112 km/h on average. But in reality, in real live situations, your speed is lower. And the range is better. So for me the manufacturer numbers are even some what pessimistic.
Let me ask you how in the world do you buy a motorcycle like this I'm in Connecticut we have no dealers anywhere around that I know of and the maintenance on these are electric bikes supposed to be bulletproof with no maintenance. And if something did go wrong I'm no mechanic how would I get it fixed
Great content. Thorough and informative. I would like to see more and/or some other electric bikes like zero or Damon reviews in the future. Keep it up!
Unless there’s a Wally’s or a big ol convenience store, there’s no way to nicely kill time while it charges. Road trip in e vehicles aren’t so bad when you’re not actively watching your battery get charged and can enjoy the time in between 10-30 minutes can fly by
if its a place thats utilitarian (like the heb, which is a grocery store) 30 minutes spent is nothing... random parking lots? Yea, 30 minutes there is lame.
Enjoyed the video. FYI, it's "foot-pounds" not "foot/pounds." (Torque units are one pound of force exerted over a moment of one foot which is force times distance. Not divided.)
It actually doesn't matter since foot pounds aren't foot per pound or pound per foot. Expressed mathmatically, they're not divided, they're multiplied, so the order doesn't matter. Torque=Force*Radius (lb*ft) but because math it can also be written Torque=Radius*Force (ft*lb) Edit: you are correct that I shouldn't be using the slash though. Gonna stop that. Sorry thought you were talking about order lol
@@momonohomo150people who comment only to say nothing that matters shouldn't comment. But since im sure you and spite hang out often you would know if his laugh is genuine or fake right
I think a lot of riders, myself included, want a powerful motorcycle so they can have it on tap when they need/want it but aren't necessarily going to use it all the time just because it's there. You aren't going to get much range on an ICE bike either if you're smashing the throttle all the time and at the price of gas these days, I can see the appeal in this electric bike.
They were charging $14.50 to charge fully ($0.675/kwhr where he was at with a 21.5 kwhr battery even at 100% efficiency), a sportbike would burn about 3 gallons (just under $10 currently) for similar range of 130-150 miles. So what's that about the cost of gas? You would save money if you're going to be taking a road trip by burning gas. Now if you had solar powered home or wind powered, sure, then you've got something (but it's a total pain to legally hook up your own DIY solar setup to anything tied to the grid)
This bike is like 30k. I can get a combustion engine bike new for under 10k which doesn't freaking weigh 260kg with a range of at least 300km. Am I ever consider electric bikes? NEVER.
@@jakegarrett8109 cost of gas, you should also count the trillions spent in the war for it and lives lost. And theres also subsidization you're paying with tax dollars. Electricity is naturally cheaper and the only reason it is not, is because of the hurdles thrown in the way and big oil actually buying into the sector to keep prices high and gas attractive
@@fetB So that's not entirely true, for example electric does not really just come out of the ground, you have to make it (often with natural gas, or where I'm from that's a huge majority of it). Since your conversion efficiency isn't 100%, your transferring away from the power station isn't 100%, your car charger isn't 100%, and your battery isn't 100% (and none are above 100%), physics says its less efficient. You may ask how many lives go towards "green energy", like a lot of child labor in lithium mines and that's just for the battery. Electric has all the above costs you mentioned because it doesn't come out of the air and often uses the same fuels you complained about. You think you aren't subsidizing electric with tax dollars? I'm close to the east coast, and they had about $120 in fees for $30 in electric, they were basically subsidizing the rich off the backs of the poor (make the electric cost almost nothing, so people in mansions would only be paying maybe $50 more than someone in a tiny shack), and if that's not subsidizing electric car ownership off the backs of the average and the poor, then I don't know what is.
I do wish that bikes like this would lean into the futuristic styling instead of just repeating the same stuff you get from normal bikes. I'd also like a more simple minimalist styling. A return to Form from function would be really nice and would suite these bike really well
The bike looks and sounds extremely nice. Probably the best motorcycle on the market right now. I agree the fact that you do not need to change gears and the regen, is very natural to ride in corners. A lot of fun.
I admit I've been hating on the electric bikes forever but this one is pretty dang cool, it fast and it sounds futuristic . Your doing a fine outstanding job Spite.👍
Great complete review. I want one but at $25k the market is filled with too many bikes, and more dealers. Several Ducati one offs models only has range of 125 miles but they are at the $15k range.
That was entertaining. It's got to be really hard for the EV companies to deal with the weight, range, battery life issues but I'm glad they keep trying. These could really become more viable in the future as they're building a lot of new nuclear power plants around the world. Should I decide to get into electric motorcycles, Energica is where I'd look first. Thanks to Magic Toaster for his help in making this a reality.
@Liam Tuthill Many states and countries have stressed power grids already. Increasing the percentage of EV's, which is a huge priority for a lot of these places, will only amplify the problem. Fortunately, many of these places are trying to get ahead of the problem by building new nuclear reactors or extending the life of the existing plants.
Loving the comprehensive content. Want to see you on some old school VS new school sports tourers! Like Concours 14 or FJR1300, VS Tracer 9GT, S1000XR or Multistrada
This thing looks insane.. props for making something that actually looks really cool. Love the naked bike sort of center look + the sport bike fairings. That would be so weird to experience... no clutch... I wouldn't know what to do! The electric noise actually sounds pretty cool too. Hopefully there will be some option to make it louder! That torque.. my god..... The regen braking is an awesome touch and it's definitely necessary. 171 hp is fucking insane hahaha.
As owner and user (9k km past - 6k miles) of Energica I agree with all of this, hopefully cruise control ergonomics can be upgraded with aftermarket button which its low cost or even DIY to place it on left side
also even energica is best from "great three" (livewire/zero/energica) I think harley and zero has better with software/display - zero has even an app with scheduled charging etc, I hope they can make an upgrade someday
I would love the same in a higher « hypermotard » look. It will be nice to navigate in town traffic jam, climbing sidewalk when traffic fully blocked. I have an Hypermotard as a daily and would love an electric one.
Great review. Like anything new it takes awhile to get used to the settings. I bet most people will just find the setting they like and leave it there.
Awesome review. Normally all I get is Newzeroland showing me how much I want one of their bikes. Me, I was it for a commuter....but that price tag and the fact I'm rual.
I’ve been driving an electric car for about 2 years now, and just took my first road trip about 2.5 times as long as the range of my car. The best way to go about charging is to plan your route out before hand and aim to arrive at the charger with 10-20%. The longer you own a ev the more comfortable you get running it down low. I’ll use my trip as an example. I made 2 stops, the first one was from 55-94%, took 23 minutes and delivered about 11kWh. The second stop was 20%-93%, took 31 Minutes and delivered 20.6 kWh. 8 minutes difference, double the range added, all because I arrived at a lower state of charge. Most electric car mapping software will target your arrival to be as close to 10% as the route will allow as that’s a good balance of spare range and best charging speeds. If you’ve committed to an EV purchase and have the time to do so, get out on a joyride and target getting home with 5% charge. You’ll notice that the cars typically hold a lot in reserve and the bottom 10% takes you way farther than the top 10% does. Teslas are even known to have 10 miles left at 0%. i squeezed 110 miles out of my car, it's rated for 93 and only estimates it can do 80 miles.
I love the idea of electric motorcycles and cars. I also love my ice vehicles. We need a breakthrough in battery technology. Sitting around waiting for it to charge would suck. I can fill up my Himalayan, with spare petrol cans, in under 5 minutes and be good to go for 500+ miles. Sure it’s a Himalayan so it’s dirt slow, but it’s still fun.
Just an fyi, when it to electric there’s a difference between kW (kilowatt) and kWh (kilowatt hours). kWh is a unit of capacity, so a battery is 21.5 kWh, and when you measure efficiency it’s the amount of miles you get per kWh used, or another way of putting it is how many Wh (watt hours) you use in a mile. Now kW is about the amount of power moving at that exact moment, so a motor or charger can be putting out 100kW. kWh are your gallons, and kW is how fast you’re either filling up or blowing out those gallons. An example to contextualize everything: a 25kWh battery on a constant 25kW load would last for one hour. That same battery on a 100kW load would only last 15 minutes since the load is 4 times higher. The reverse is also somewhat true, a 25kWh battery charging at 100kW would be full in 15 minutes, but that would only be if you can maintain that speed the whole time, which batteries simply cannot do. Think of them like filling a balloon. At first they’re pretty easy and you can cram a lot in fast, however towards the end they become harder to fill and you have to slow down to avoid accidentally popping the balloon.
Great honest review I think if someone had their heart set on an electric bike most of the erks you had wouldn't deter them at all 😆 This looks like the best one I have seen reviewed so far. Great job with the new channel 👍 Keep it up.
Why? I truly don't see the need for electric bikes! this bike is nearly £30,000 in the UK, equates to around $37,000 US dollars, my Aprilia RS 660 was £10,000, it does around 150 miles to a tank, cruise control is on the left and it works well, it has all the bells and whistles, and it takes less than 3 minutes to recharge. Also sounds awesome. I love all things Italian but 30 minutes to charge 40% is crazy. I'm a long way away from being convinced to convert to electric. Great Video, and well done Energica - some people will love it I'm sure 👍
On price, consider zero maintenance and the savings of oil, filters, valve adjustments, etc., and the hassle of servicing. It all adds up over the years, so after 4 or 5 years the purchase price makes total sense. (That said, of course I wish it was cheaper up front)
What a great review. I can relate to range issues. I've got a VTR 1000. 30mpg and a little tank so I can relate but when I fill up it's a few mins rather than half hour.
I must be one of the only people that sometimes I just coast along, and enjoy the ride. No speeding, no worry about the speed limit. I just coast. I like these things. Looking at a Damon, right now.
Cool review. Still range issues for me dawg. I live in Cali where I can go to the coast and back in 1 day ~300 miles but there's a serious lack of charging infrastructure between metro hubs.
My take on the mileage thing is a bit skewed. I currently have a klx300 that’s heavily modified. If your nice to it the klx can see 65+ miles per gallon, I never see more than 45 because it’s fun as hell to ring it’s neck. That’s about 90 miles to a tank. Does not limit my fun on the bike just means I have to plan my adventures accordingly.
I really enjoyed this review. One thing you didn't mention is the Energica's are the only bikes that do level 2 and level 3 charging and I think that's definitely worth bringing up. To those haters out there, go ride an electric bike before you judge them you don't know what you are missing. As far as cost goes, I put 6767 kms on my Harley LiveWire this year used 817kWh of energy to do it. Charging at home that's about $138 CND, or for the Americans $101 to go 4205 miles. I wonder how much that would cost for a comparable ICE bike, fuel plus an oil change. When range comes up I like to ask people, if every time you left the house on your ICE bike you had a full tank of gas how often would you need to go to a gas station? The majority of riders are not doing 100+ miles every day on their bikes. They are going out for a blast each evening or commuting to work each day and then doing longer rides on the weekends when the weather cooperates. Yes there are outliers that do more than that and for those people this may not be a viable solution but the majority of people will not find range an issue and when you do have those longer days there is the L2 and L3 charging stations, charge while you are having lunch. IDK if electric is the future or not and it's certainly not for everyone but I think many people right it off too soon without really even considering it. My LiveWire was my first EV and I'm sold on electric my next cage will for sure be electric too... but it won't be a Cybertruck that thing is Fugly!
Hi, I've now seen the video for the second time. The first time before and the second time after I bought the exact motorcycle. I was lucky enough to find a used one (830km on the clock). I had to laugh at the same places. Still very entertaining, thank you. I rode ice motorcycles for many years, mostly Yamaha R1s, so I was spoiled when it came to performance. But apart from the performance beyond 150 km/h, I don't miss anything. I enjoy not having to worry about engine speed or gear. This summer I did a 2500km tour through Germany with my Energica and I was happy to have to charge every now and then so my butt could always recover a bit. ;-) You're right that you're always tempted to open the throttle all the way, but with time (or age) you calm down. :-) I often go on weekend trips (around 250 km) with friends who still ride ice motorcycles. I always have to charge every now and then and it usually takes us longer for our break, where we often eat a little something, than it takes to charge the motorcycle. Of course, with new technology you have to accept adversities from time to time, but this special driving experience makes up for it. I am convinced that this is the future and it is not a bad one. Many greetings from Germany.
In 2007 I bought a brand new Fireblade, CBR 1000RR (177 hp & 84 ftlbs).. Still have it today.. Its a great analog bike, that is pretty good at everything, just not best at anything.. I am glad I kept it all these years, and couldn't get myself to get rid of it as it was only $11,500 brand new.. Back when sport bikes were actually affordable and not covered in technology.. I have bought and sold probably 10 different bikes since.. These E-bikes are def the future, and I will be a customer one day.. With the same HP as my 1000rr and 75 more ft lbs, its gotta be a blast..

The amount of energy in the battery of that thing should be equivalent (after accounting for inefficiencies) to 2 gallons of fuel.. Do you find that realistic? If that's so, we need another 50% improvement in battery, few more chargers, and then we are there.

Motorbikes suffer on highway is not accurate bro...
What is your range?
Wow I am so excited for this motorcycle. Great review Spite!
Just added this video to our electric motorcycle playlist!
Definitely can’t deny that Energica has perfected the motorcycle exhaust note.
RIP Energica, definitely you will be missed
@@CrossWindsPat10 years from now nobody will go anywhere near anything battery powered due to the fire risk.

Dude, Spite, your channel is killing it. Great job man. I’m loving your content. Kill’n it. Thanks dude, keep it up.
While I’m not a fan of e-motorcycles for multiple reasons, it’s hard to not admit how fun they are.

Torque=Force*Radius (lb*ft) but because math it can also be written Torque=Radius*Force (ft*lb)
Edit: you are correct that I shouldn't be using the slash though. Gonna stop that. Sorry thought you were talking about order lol

I think a lot of riders, myself included, want a powerful motorcycle so they can have it on tap when they need/want it but aren't necessarily going to use it all the time just because it's there. You aren't going to get much range on an ICE bike either if you're smashing the throttle all the time and at the price of gas these days, I can see the appeal in this electric bike.
the difference is 5 minutes to fill up and there's a gas station on every corner.
Af1Racing in Austin is my favorite dealership, hands down.
I do wish that bikes like this would lean into the futuristic styling instead of just repeating the same stuff you get from normal bikes. I'd also like a more simple minimalist styling. A return to Form from function would be really nice and would suite these bike really well

Sorry, what’s nuclear got to do with it?
@Liam Tuthill Many states and countries have stressed power grids already. Increasing the percentage of EV's, which is a huge priority for a lot of these places, will only amplify the problem. Fortunately, many of these places are trying to get ahead of the problem by building new nuclear reactors or extending the life of the existing plants.

Gotta get to bed but def gotta watch the rest tomorrow. Very nice Spite!
Qeobg
Great honest review I think if someone had their heart set on an electric bike most of the erks you had wouldn't deter them at all 😆
This looks like the best one I have seen reviewed so far.
Great job with the new channel 👍
Keep it up.
correct. I have a zero and I'm not bothered by 90% of the stuff they complain about
Great you enjoyed it.
You'll be chewing up tires twice as fast. At least the rear tire, that you can count on.
All he wanted was a shout for his BROTHER'S channel. He has my respect and I subscribed
I really appreciate your support of the discord member's request. I will visit that site and send it to a coworker who also drives an EV. Respect.
Very honest review, keep up good work Spite.
To solve the eco speed problem, have an emergency mode bypass button that puts it in its highest performance mode for 60 seconds.
Hi,
I've now seen the video for the second time.
This summer I did a 2500km tour through Germany with my Energica and I was happy to have to charge every now and then so my butt could always recover a bit. ;-)
You're right that you're always tempted to open the throttle all the way, but with time (or age) you calm down. :-)
I often go on weekend trips (around 250 km) with friends who still ride ice motorcycles.
Getting so close to 100k subs!! Good luck brother!
