Bret fucked Vince up tho 😂 Knocked him out cold. Great story
And that was the best part, or should I say the only good part, of the whole Montral screw job situation.
Vince felt like he owed him that. Took it kike a man
“Somehow, Vince ran into my hand”
Wendi Richter deserved more respect from Vince McMahon. Fabulous Moolah set Women's Wrestling back to the 50's. Wendi was the future of Women's Wrestling and Moolah killed the future for her own personal gain.
I wish Vince never screwed her. Imagine a program between Ritcher and Martel.
Hey the man ran a business and ran it as he saw fit. It's not a popularity contest.
Remember Wendy in the Cindy Lauper "She Bop" video. That Rock and Wrestling Connection was huge at the time
Wendy Richtor got screwed way earlier
Oh Yes.
I think that was briefly mentioned in the doco.
Wendy spoke about it and how she ended up leaving the WWF/WWE because of that BS with Wendy and Moolah.
Does not surprise me that Vince would side with Moolah.
Birds of a feather and all that.
Are you sure ?
There wasn't much choice back then and Vince took anyone who needed to tie their shoes.
@@MariuszMroczek-dd7ku
What do you mean, exactly?
Are you saying Wendy was no good or something?
@@mebeme007 I say she got in the way and Vince didn't do anything to her that he wouldn't do to doors.
Wasn't surprised to the see Wendy Richter screwjob being brought up, anything they could find that makes Vince look bad they were going to add in. Weren't going to miss this one if they had time.
8:04 I could imagine Vince not wanting any talent there showing the jury all their physiques thus influencing their decision.
So did Eric. Fired people who were injured. Didn’t have the guts to do it in person either.
True,ask Austin.
How could he do it in person if someone was home injured?
@@TL2354 wait till they were back in the office, call them into the office, go to see them…
Eric was right to fire Austin in the manner he did (over the phone to his wife, Fed Ex the next day). Pouting while wearing a “3:16” shirt isn’t a good look, by the way.
@@cheesecakemousetrap the point is Eric is living in a glass house while throwing stones. Keep up.
I have always respected Wade Keller even though I don't always agree with him on current wrestling. I definitely think he should come back as a guest on this show because he is knowledgeable and articulate.
Bret is the only person in history who can say that he knocked f out of Vince McMahon. Imagine how many people wish they could say the same now. And Vince still put him in the HOF and lost to him at Wrestlemania. Bret deserves so much credit because most people are still afraid to bad mouth Vince even now, yet Bret kicked his a$$ almost 30 years prior! lol
Vince screwed Vince
But Bret was the biggest star he screwed.
80s must of been amazing as a fan.
Awsome wrestling podcast guys Awsome story 😀 👋
Every WWE superstar from 1994 to this day owes their future and success to Hulk Hogan after he saved Vince McMahon from going to prison. Even though the federal government threatened Hogan and Hogan was going to wrestle his first match in WCW against Ric Flair. Hogan could have destroyed Vince and testified against him and sent him to prison for nine years and we would have seen Jerry Jarrett running WWE and making his son Jeff Jarrett the WWF world champion and destroying WWE and in return all of this would be in the interest of Hogan and WCW. But no. Hogan saved Vince despite all the golden opportunities that were given to Hogan. That's why all the wrestlers like Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Bret Hart, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, etc. all owe it to Hogan. Even the wrestling fans and especially the haters have no right to criticize him. Hogan is the greatest name in wrestling history, no question
This message doesn't work for me brother
@@ERC641 I know the truth hurts you a lot, but in the end your opinion doesn't matter as long as you prefer to lie to yourself son .
What kind of defense did Vince's legal team put up in the courtroom?
@@basedelon I watched the Dark Side of the Ring episode of Vince McMahon's trial and they hosted Vince's lawyer MR Jerry McDevitt, in the episode and he explained many details about what happened that day, but he said the following about Hogan ( Hogan was the top dog. And when Hogan said that Vince was innocent ,there goes the case ). This is what Jerry McDevitt literally said in the episode and Jerry's testimony about Hulk Hogan proves that Hogan saved Vince and the future of the WWF and all the wrestlers.
The WWE is beyond garbage now it’s unwatchable. The matches are so lackluster the storylines make no sense… WWE was not saved and became garbage, especially after WCW went out of business in March 2001… WWE was only good when they had WCW kicking their ass in the Monday night wars and after WCW drop the ball in late 1998 the WWE basically steamrolled WCW and after 2001 wrestling became very mediocre and it’s never going to be like it was in the 90s….
Conrad PLEASE…….. don’t get up
ahahaha.
Wendy was way better and hot in Mid South Wrestling
I was just a little girl when my Dad got my brother and I into watching the WWE (or WWEF in those days). Always been a bit of a tomboy.
When I went to school, all the boys were into watching it as well.
Suddenly, I got to see Wendy Richter one night.
I was so excited that there was finally a female that I wanted to look up to in the WWF/WWE.
No offence to the other women, especially the older ones. I'm well aware of the legacy most of them have and how they paved the way for women like Wendy to come through.
But Wendy also seemed more cool and relatable to a younger audience like myself.
Especially when she later went on to team up with Cyndi Lauper, that made her even more cook in my book.
When I went to school and all of us kids were all playing around and pretending to be Hogan, Macho Man, Bundy, Big John Stud, whoever.
I didn't have to choose a male wrestler to be like anymore. I could be Wendy Richter from then on. 🤣
And if it wasn't for Wendy, I think I may have ended up giving up on being a wrestling fan back then.
@@mebeme007 zzzzz.
dude 5 shots of Scotch couldn't make Ritcher attractive.
Vince screwed vince!. And Pat. And. Shawn, and Hulk, and Bret different way.. Well just business.
But the exodus of Canadian fans to wcw made ya famous bishoff that's the difference and the fact that you totally boned his booking makes me wonder that no one told you that ironically that's most likely the key to aew's success as well lol
Thanks!
So did eric
Good god people, screwing other people over is a part of life and quite frankly it gets you ahead most of the time.
With friends like these😂
@@Jayyy667 friends??? Who needs those??? Jeez don’t be homo bro.
He also shit on plenty
Bret screwed Bret, he left for more money and refused to lose the championship... Vince had no choice.
"The Grand Wizard there..."
I don't care about the "screw job" that's just business, but Bret was forced out contractually he didn't leave.
Bret had a 20 year deal for $20 M with WWF in 1996. Shawn got bitter about it even though he couldn't draw with Diesel or even get a good feud with him, unlike Bret. Bret deferred money, which is unheard of in pro-wrestling then, and had to go like HBK said, "with all those other dinosaurs". Ironically, SCSA and the Rock were on top less than a year after Bret left.
I think so too Bret damaged his career a lot with this behaviour and couldn’t get back on that level
@kseven6551 he was forced out. He was there long and Vince had new guys he wanted to push. He repeatedly said Vince came to him about renegotiating. In the end, he never got most of his WCW money due to injury, so I don't think it worked out well for him there, but it wasn't his reason for leaving. Shawn himself mocked Bret for being ok with being the $700K champion. Bret was the only guy putting new guys over at all. Shawn tried to get Vader fired, how come Vince didn't can Shawn for that?
I'm starting to think Montreal was a work. Vince would never let one of his wrestlers spell WCW out like that when they were getting smashed in the ratings.
How could Vince have stopped Bret in the moment? By jumping in the ring and tackling him to the ground once he’d made the first ‘W’? Or maybe Vince has the ability to predict the future? He could have then cut all the cameras on a live PPV just before Bret did it, thus preventing anyone, except the people in attendance, from ever seeing it?
What are you on?
It was done after the PPV went off the air
@@Mere_Puffery I'm high on life. Vince could have easily told them to cut the hard cam or cut away from Bret but instead kept it focused on Bret? Cmon that's not a little strange? Btw I'm not the only one who thinks this. Scott Hall thought the same thing, and he said this when he was totally sober. Scott had a great mind for the business when he was clear headed.
@@JGD185the zoom in to brets face after is strange they could have cut away but zoomed in to see his reaction. I don't thunk it was a work but it is very strange
It wasn't a work how would Vince know that he would go to WCW and it would have actually been better for the WWE . Plus he was trying to be a good guy when he said Bret screwed Bret he had no idea the fans wouldn't see it that way . Plus I was in Montréal the raw after and Davey boy's brother Mark was sitting in front of me and we talked about how pissed Bulldog , Anvil and Owen were
