    FINALLY some HAAK recognition. This game is one of the best games I've ever played. Do not sleep on this!

    The insanely twisted planet had some dimmu borgir Gothenburg orchestra music in it that's pretty sweet

    Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is one of my absolute favorites and cannot be recommended enough. I would also like to recommend Phoenotopia: Awakening, a game that no one should miss.

    HEY EXVARGHRA! You have an "EXCELLENT LIST" of hidden metroidvania gems! I do not agree about one thing! The Valdis Story: Abyssal City 7:20 should be the number one metroidvania in this list while Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom 10:06 should be at 2nd place! 0:09 HAAK should be at third rank! I am still congratulating you that you created this awesome Hidden Gems game list! Valdis Story, Monster Boy & HAAK could dethrone hollow knight as the number 1 metroidvania.

      Hey thank for sharing your opinion ^^
      Yeah, it could be. I personally also like Monster boy, the game's vibe really takes me back to my childhood haha

      I had enough of people saying hollow knight is he best. We are now "OVER ABUNDANT" of Metroivania games! It is impossible that none of these games could dethrone that OVERRATED HOLLOW KNIGHT! Valdis Story: Abyssal City can easily dethrone hollow knight. If Monster Boy & The Cursed Kingdom is triple its length of game time it could easily dethrone hk but the game is short AND NO REPLAY VALUE! Monster Boy should not be on this list because this one s popular selling more than 4M pieces of games including Digital copies and still selling more as of now! Monster Boy is not underrated and not a hidden gem. Valdis Story and HAAK are hidden gems and underrated. I am sure that Valdis Story: Abyssal City can even match the hk silk song! Endless Fluff Games should make a sequel of their Valdis Story and make it a long 40 to 50 hours game with bigger world, larger map, loads and loads of replay value, many secrets, collectibles and a good advertising of the game to hype it up! Endless Fluff Games needs a big publisher if they will make Valdis Story sequel happen! I want them to name it Valdis Story: The Saga Of New Heroes!

    One game I recommend you: Cathedral. Great metroidvania, not well known.

    • @Zincoshine-

      its not well known for a reason: The game is far too difficult and there's no settings to lower it to a more sensible level.

      @@Zincoshine- It's difficult but not unfair. I didn't finish it but I went for no armor upgrades (so you basically need to do hitless) and I never got a "this is b*llsh*t" moment. I had some annoying passages at worst.

      If "Far Too Difficult" is your reasoning then games like Dark Souls, Yoshi's Island Levels that are too hard for platforming, Celeste, Super Meat Boy and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is not for you.

    Great games! However, I can not agree on the soundtrack to Monster Boy. I had to turn the music down since some of the songs were so annoying. A matter of taste, of course.

      Sorry but they are metroidvania. You have an open world plateformer and exploration is rewarded. Like many game genres, the definition is quite loose based on what you focus on.

    • @ciuffoarancione8929
      @ciuffoarancione8929 4 месяца назад

      @@Ovnidemon no. In monster boy to progress into game you don't need to get abilities, backtrack and find new areas and then continue from there. Having a map does not means be a metroidvania. You can backtrack and use transformation to find collectibles or find secrets etc

    • @Ovnidemon
      @Ovnidemon 4 месяца назад

      @@ciuffoarancione8929 Like I said, Metroivania definition is quite loose. Just one example: are 3D metroidvania really metroidvania? You often have very little platforming, which is core to the metroidvania genre. For example, Darksiders. Some say it's just a zelda-like others say it's a metroidavnia.
      Same for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. No plateforming, so it shouldn't fit the metroidvania genre, but it's still considered a metroidvania.
      You want another example: Ghost 1.0. You gain combat upgrades but there is not a single ability gate. All the locked doors are opened by keys.
      If a game is an open-world plateformer that reward exploration, I think that enough to be a metroidvania. It's not a pure metroidvania, but it's still a metroidvania.
      Games genres were attributed quite arbitrarily, so there is no perfect definition. for example: what is a souls like? Is it the dodge roll, the dark atmosphere, the corpse retrieval or the stamina that define a Souls like?

    • @ciuffoarancione8929
      @ciuffoarancione8929 4 месяца назад

      @@Ovnidemon of course metroidvania can be 3d...fallen order, jedi survivor, control are 3d metroidvania for example.. You have to backtrack after gaining new abilities and discover new areas to progress into the game.
