Heads up, that fire resistant paper you have for pressing will leave a mark on the comic cover. The same grid pattern on the paper will show up on the cover. I think they call that pebbling. Switch to Silicone Parchment Paper
I'm procrastinating so much that I'm watching someone clean up instead of cleaning up myself lol
Hahahahaha
A future video of you cleaning and pressing a comic would be interesting to watch.
You’re the definition of: when one door closes, another opens. Ever since the job lay off thing, I’ve seen you dive hard/harder…into this comic hobby. I noticed the change in the channel’s videos. And lately…looks like you’re making this hobby into something you can get money & enjoyment out of it. Just glad it’s working for you, keep the passion and hard work going.
Thank you James for all your fun and informative videos and great discounts onn Claim Sales. I just wanted to show my support for you, your RUclips channel and new store. Now, go buy some tape for that Uber-Tape Dispenser. ;-)
Hahahaha that’s enough to buy a room of tape! Thanks man!!!!
Congrats James! I would love to have a station like that. I think many people waiting for video tutorial on how to clean and press comic books. And would be great to see shopping list of what to buy.
Something about taking a messy space, and turning it into an organization area. Is deeply fulfilling.
Don’t forget to have a clock or a digital timer to keep time for the light and pressing use.
Please post demos of your pressing work. I would love to see the process brother!
James could you do a video of you using the press machine ? I want to get into cleaning and pressing my own books but don’t know how to ! It would be a great start for me and probably many others who don’t know as much about it !
You picked the right air cleaner....just got a larger version of that model and the difference in air quality in our house is amazing. Well played!
Looking good and organised!
Nice progress. Happy we both have Comcast 1GB internet. You can relocate that modem under the table or the window sill just fine. I utilize the Comcast pods around the house for best expansion.
You still need a poster of On Golden Pond
Nice work area now to keep it clean
Great setup you have there. I hope to set up a similar cleaning station for my games and comics that come from garages and basements!
Looks great, well done!
The bigger challenge and cleaning the station is keeping the surface from gathering clutter. He would be surprised how quickly it will come back.
looks great James! I would honestly love to see more videos like these! I dig them.
I just spent some time cleaning up my area, and it feels great having things organized once again. Just have to spend a bit of time now and again to keep it that way. Looks great!
That seems like a lot of work! Not to mention the actual pressing part of it😂
You better believe it!
nice work, can you put out a video of ur storage of ur personal collection
Best of luck! This will greatly expand I bet.
This is great, James! I can’t wait to be able to utilize your skills!
Looks great! Keep up the good work sir!
Sweet setup!
I've just started getting into using light therapy as well. So much to learn.
Looks great! Good luck with the new set up. 👊🏽
Love those kind of videos as I reconfigure my own space(s) man!
Great idea Brother. It looks awesome!! Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😀 👍 ❤️ 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 ♥️ 💯💯💯💯💯
Just started getting in to pressing a few months ago and there's something weirdly zen about the whole thing. From setting up the work space to the the entire dry cleaning and pressing process. Would love a review of the Immaculate Comics light box further down the line. Love their stuff. Great vid.
Great video! any chance of a video of how to press coming?
Looks great!
Really like the “Key Issue” stickers. A few books I bought from you have them.
Wow James, that’s an awesome work station. I really like how everything has a specific place (that does remind me of me 🤣)
Very impressive artwork, I am sure it will flourish in those idyllic surroundings. Thank you for the video and good luck with your future projects 👏🏻
Nice clean and professional setup dude!
Dude this is a great video idea!!
Love the way you attack projects. Nice inspiration.
I would love to see the process, could you do a video using your new station?
Nice man! Just need a hydration chamber and your all set up
Clean that room 😂
I'm right there with you James. I'm still in the cleaning ofthe room stage though. I also follow Immaculate Comics and have ordered from him. I learned years ago about those clamp on lamps. It WILL break if you move it around. I prefer a lamp with a flexi-stand so I can bend it around at different angles. And yes, that clamp-on one should be sold at the Dollar Store. If you can I would return it while you can go for something else. Congrats on getting through the setup. I'm eager to get started too and share our experiences as beginers.🥴
*_This looks great._*
*_It's just...well, depending on what you are going to draw with, I guess it's OK to use this workstation for more than comic book CPR; but do be mindful._*
*_That is a very shallow light box, is it meant to be a quicker exposure maybe?_*
*_Did I miss the humidity box?_*
I'm making a co.ic room so I feel the pian
I want this!
Love the video's I just set up my own cleaning station recently. Want to get a press as well but not sure what to look for. Would love to hear what model you got and how its working.
I don’t have time to watch this right now, but I’m excited to watch later. Might have a question or two… if you don’t mind.
nice, maybe I should do some spring cleaning too!
Setup is looking really clean dude! Nice job, are you hiring ahahah.
make sure the heat press doesn't get near those slabs on the wall.
Your setup is nice! Bigger table would have been nice, but you got to work with what you got.
Dry cleaning scares me more that wet cleaning. Be careful with the 40 factor (12%) peroxide. I would also say that your "eye/knowledge/spider sense" for spotting 9+ level comics in the wild is your greatest power. Where will your cold press stack live? Above all, have fun.
My favourite hunter of mint comics 💙🔥
That's so funny, I legitimately have an entire run of Shadow of The Bat sitting in a file at my LCS and i'm grabbing like 2 or 3 every time I go
Would you list the name brands and model numbers for the press, light box, black cgc frames, cleaning supplies and air purifier?
I'd love to see you take a junk comic and let the light box ruin it as a "beware" video. That would be cool
Its Friday, its raining and I'm watching a man tidy up. 👍
I keep my humidity chamber under my desk to save space.
Great setup. Wondering 2 things, what’s the model of that pressing, and what would be the avg. price to press a book?
Great video man, also i got a question what would a nova #1 (first app of nova) in a cgc 8.5 slab be worth?
Love this. Do you have any kind of setup for playing music when you work? I know we all have different work methods, but as an author for over 40 years I’ve never sat down to write without some music playing in the background. So I’m just curious if you have similar habits of inspiration.
How much do you want for shadow of the bat? Love that run!!
You need to have a bigger table. Where is your steamer? VERY nice .
Steamer not shown, and the problem is my house is the size of an NYX apartment lol
When can I send my books to you to clean and press ;)
What do those black slab boxes run?
What type of press?
What frames are those?
James how much are you looking for the shadow of Bat run ? If it hasn’t sold already
$225! many dupes in there too. Less than $2 per book
Highly recommend getting an aluminum plate for your press if you haven't done so already
Won’t you use metal plate for pressing ?
Staples is the pits
I would love a link to your eBay page!
I mainly sell on My Sunday claim sale!
Nothing to introduce a bit of humidity into the books before pressing? Like a clothes steamer?
Actually ironic u posted this, my station is 80 percent done as of last night.
How much for the Shadow of the Bat? Lol
When you need help with wet or dry cleaning just give me a call @ The Comic Book Underground here in Florida.
Just be careful with anything Liquid based cleaning cgc starting to hit people with purple labels. For cleaning .
day 1 of asking where i can buy your stuff
I like you’re set up but I desorption in time you will discover more space would be better, but in the meantime I hope it works well for you
Prob is my house is the size of a NY apartment lol
@@MintHunterComics I understand, there’s never enough room no matter what you start off with
I think you've maximized the best use of the space you have available, although it may not be save to have your press that close to the curtains. Am I seeing things, or is the press hanging off the corner of the table?
Just a heads up about light therapy. I've recently been watching videos of people who restore yellowing plastics from old computers and gaming systems and most of them use UV light boxes, but there was one guy who did a comparison video with multiple techniques/mediums and he discovered that with UV the lightening the results had less to do with the UV light itself and more to do with the heat generated by the light. In his trials, heat without UV light did a better job of lightening the plastic than UV by itself did, and while it takes a longer amount of time than UV he also got better results using an ozone machine (putting the plastic in a bag, inflating it with ozone, and letting it sit for 24 hours or more). I don't know if these techniques would work as well on paper as they do on plastic, but now I'm very tempted to try. Link to the video is below.

I ment to say comic book
Looks like the perfect amount of space underneath the top row for another row of slabs. Just sayin.
I accidentally disliked sorry james , i changed it
