Leon would be a very difficult fight for Islam. In the fight v Usman, Leon was able to stuff multiple takedown attempts by Kamaru, which eventually affected his cardio. And because of that, Leon was successful in stand-up with him.
But Shavkat is a really bad match-up for Islam.

The point is when one of these guys in that sort of position they will always move and do something to signify that they are still awake in case the ref stops it. Just because he got up and ran around does not mean that if the round lasted maybe 10secs longer he would've still be awake. I do believe he was on the brink of being put to sleep.
@@rojhasan548 Well then you don’t understand how grappling works. If a choke is in, it will put the other person out in about 5-10 seconds. If it doesn’t, then the choke is about as good as useless. Half submissions don’t exist and their only purpose is to just tire the other person out. To finish a D’arce, you need to turn your opponent to the side and be perpendicular to them. Charles had Arman in a ninja choke grip (even though you would need to be arm-out for that) and Arman was laying flat (to relieve the pressure). There is no choke in that position, there is no pressure which would cause Arman to pass out. Charles knew this better than anybody else, he tried to get into the proper position for the D’arce for about 10 seconds, but then realized he was going up against a better grappler, so he just layed there sticking his tongue out thinking it would get him points. It was the final 20-30 seconds of the round and Arman didn’t need to move around since he was doing just fine in that position. If he did, it would create more risk considering that Charles could just jump the guillotine as he did earlier. Then, he would have definitely lost that round/fight since that would actually be a locked in submission which would be the biggest part of that round.

Big Islam fan here. Arman isn’t doing himself any favors with the sound bites he’s giving the media but make no mistake, Arman is 100% the biggest threat for Islam in the division. Bigger threat than Dustin and Charles. Islam still probably puts on a masterclass but it’s very fair for Arman to have confidence in his ability in that upcoming fight.

@@mohibrehman9825 He didn’t get “saved” by the bell. You just don’t understand how grappling works. A locked in choke would put you to sleep in 5-10 seconds. Charles held him for 30 seconds then Arman burst out celebrating immediately. How does that work? Does Arman’s body defy biology? There’s no such thing as a half submission attempt that puts you to sleep in 35 seconds or whatever dumb idea you have.
To finish a D’arce choke, you have to be perpendicular and turn your opponent to the side. Arman flattened his body, which removed all the pressure from his neck. That is not him getting “saved by the bell,” it’s you not understanding basic submissions.
Also in what world did Charles outgrapple Arman? Arman definitely was the one out grappling him, he controlled him for the majority of the fight, had him in side control, Von Flue attempts, crucifix, and even took his back at some point. Oliveira had one submission attempt in Round 1 because Arman slipped, Arman got out of it (because he’s a better fighter), and immediately reversed him from full mount. Besides that Charles Oliveira did nothing besides that poor excuse of a D’arce attempt in the third.

To do that, you need to turn your opponent to the side and be perpendicular to them. Charles just held onto his neck. A locked in choke puts you to sleep in 5-10 seconds, he held on for 30 seconds and it did nothing. You have no idea what you’re talking about lmao

There's no way this kid was sad when Dustin lost, which is obvious based upon his reactions and answers. It was his own mistake that he turned this fight down and I won't be suprised if Dana gives someone else the next title shot considering that rankings and winning streaks doesn't mean anything anymore. Listen even as a Islam fan, it would be stupid to think that Arman doesn't present a tough matchup for him. Although Islam won the first fight, it was via a very a close decision. Second, I believe Arman's strength, cardio and conditioning will also be a challenge for Islam. Style wise, they are not that different either though it may not look like it. The only way I see Islam winning the fight is via a KO/TKO, a decision or submission as the very last resort, which I think will be highly unlikely unless Arman makes any stupid mistakes.
