Hey Homies! I'm back with another DIY project and this time we are making over our stairs! I’m so excited to finally get rid of our old carpet and install new stair treads. We are going for the classic, black and white stair case and I think we are close to nailing it. I partnered with our friends ‪‪@lowes‬ and they sponsored this project. Please keep in mind that this is a first time for us so it was definitely a learning experience. With that being said, this is not meant to be a tutorial. This is just me documenting our process and hoping to inspire anyone who has something similar in mind.

They make pre-stain for water based stain

Yes. I prefer water based stains because of the lower VOC but I ended up with oil based for this project. The final top coat was water based though. Thanks for watching.

Did you have stair treads under the carpet? I live in an old home and my stair treads under the carpet are so worn, havent thought of fully replacing them til now
