    Using the quarter inch MDF as the riser doesn't that push out the stairnose a quarter inch too far that you have to trim the back of it along the riser.

      Because my subfloor already had a round nosing sticking out, the LVP treads actually fit perfectly over it without any trimming, even with the additional 1/4 inch riser. If there was no nosing and the original treads were squared off at 90 degrees, then yes I would recommend trimming the back of the LVP tread so that the nosing slides all the way back against the riser when installed. I hope I explained that okay.
