Watch to see if Pregnenolone: Harmful Or Harmless To AFS? It's premiering soon (March 10, 2020 @ 10am PST). Come chat with Dr. Carrie Lam during the premiere to get further information about the mother of all adrenal hormones!!
@ConnieB17 Hey there! AFS stands for Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome, a condition where stress can lead to your adrenal glands underperforming. It's a bit controversial in the medical community, but many folks report feeling tired and worn out because of it.
Great short lecture thanks you❤
Thanks for your kind words! Glad it helped!
Thank you!! Very good explanation
You are very welcome! Glad you found it helpful.
I take Pregnonelone 100mg a.m plus DHEA in a.m. My holistic MD ( whom unfortunately died unexpectedly 18 mo.ago) directed me to take it. I had adrenal fatigue due to major stress due to Benzodiazepine withdrawal 7 years ago. I have continued to take it. ... I'm concerned now. Finding an experienced practitioner that doesn't push pharmaceuticals is hard to find.... HELP!

What is your opinion of labs coming up with elevated cortisol along with elevated 17 hydroxypregnenolone? What would cause both of these to be elevated?
That’s an insightful question! Elevated cortisol and 17-hydroxy pregnenolone can indicate an overactive stress response or HPA axis dysregulation. Addressing root causes like inflammation, stress, or hormonal imbalances can help rebalance these pathways!
Thank you for the video. I have used pregnenalone for a couple years. I took 50mg in the morning for several months and now I take ten mg in the morning. I’m not under doctor supervision on this supplement.
Do you still take pregnenolone?
Still on it?
How are you ?
You made some good points but you need to read about Dr. Georgi Dinkov research into the reason Four hormones most adults can benefit from are progesterone, thyroid hormone T3, DHEA and pregnenolone interviewed by Dr. Mercola🙂
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback.
Do you have experience with polymyalgia rheumatica?
Will the Pregnenolona trigger migraines???!
What are your thoughts on taking hydrocortisone for severe adrenal fatigue??
It really depends on what stage you're in and whether your body can handle it. The key is to ask a practitioner who is experienced and knows how to start it. Sometimes oral can be too much, so creams can also be used to evaluate your response. Always consult your doctor first.
Dr. Lam Coaching thank you, you are so so helpful

Thanks for the video guys. Your opinions would be invaluable about stopping pregnenolone supplementation. Specifically, can the HPA ever return to it's normal regulatory levels after supporting it with pregnenolone for more than one year (which presumably signals the adrenals, via feedback to the brain, to produce less of its own)? I am asking in general, rather than my specific case.
IF you're on the right program and do a comprehensive approach it could, but not only with pregnenolone itself
@@drlam Thanks loads for the reply Dr Lam. Did i understand right: The HPA could return to a better regulatory balance after a long term supplementation of pregnenolone, if a careful and comprehensive programme is followed. What do you mean by "but not only with pregnenolone."? Do you mean this is the case with other hormones too (whether HPA/T/G)? or something else? Thanks again so much for sharing your knowledge. It is extremely appreciated.
@@misterbenn100 There are other hormones and vitamins that could be utilized, and sometimes pregnenolone does not need to be long term supplementation.
@@drlam Thanks again for the replies. Can even a short term program including pregnenolone potentially have the risk of dysregulating the HPA (eg changing homeostatic levels) over a much longer term?
@@misterbenn100 Yes
I’m taking 10 mg pregnenolone and 5mg DHEA and 5mg of cortisone. Is this safe in light of my lab results that show all three levels are low.
We will need more information about symptoms rather than just treating lab numbers. Ask your doctor or call into our office at 626-571-1234 for a free initial consultation.
Sad that in Canada, pregnenolone is illegal so whether you need it or not, you can not even consider it in the first place.
Yes indeed it's hard to get supplements there
@@drlam I'm seriously thinking about of leaving Canada.
@@Chercheure_Indépendante We welcome you in america!
@@drlam Hi Dr. Lam, I understand that Pregnenolone is a precursor hormone that is responsible for making the most important hormones in the body - specifically, cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone. Now in the meantime, would taking RNA and DNA supplements somewhat compensate and how in summary?
RNA and DNA is very unspecific, so not necessarily impactful for specifically the hormones. @@Chercheure_Indépendante
If your system has low pregnenolone due to cortisol steal from stress and elevated aldosterone causing high bp wouldnt it be helpful to supplement with pregnanolone or even progesterone? Most patients are not able to change their lifestyle despite recommendations. Get bettee sleep ? Eat better? But if stress is high cortisol is high yoi stress eat with sugar which increases insulin which then increases stress which then worsens sleep… and so the cycle goes in many patients. What diet do you recommend for increasing pregnenolone? High fat and low sugar?
A balanced diet with healthy fats and low sugar can support pregnenolone production. Consider incorporating omega-3 rich foods and managing stress for overall well-being.
Thank you for the video ! I’m a healthy young male ( I’m an athlete ) and I’m looking for a natural way to increase my test ( My body already produces a lot ) but I also read that it has many benefits for the mind which is actually what I’m really looking for , any suggestions ? I’m also taking DMAE 400mg a day just to bust my brain considering that I work a lot and do a lot of physical activity ! Thank you again

Dr. Lam Coaching thank you very much for the prompt response ! But I was wandering if this product could help my Mind to be more performing !?
@@cesareunno2198 You shouldn't take it without an expert who knows your whole body's constitution and hormone levels.
wHo is not under stress in the US? Very few people in US have low estrogen...most of US people have estrogen DOMINANCE. I like your videos but I dont really agree with this video.
You're right that most people in the US have estrogen dominance. But we still see some people with low estrogen because we deal not with the majority of people but the 2.5% on the sides of the bell curve that are in the minority.
I'm low in estrogen
@@52msdianego to Burger King and get the everything veggie whopper by the time you finish you will have plenty of estrogen
I started taking 200 mg of pregnalone and 50 mg of dhea at night to help me sleep i been cycling 1 to 2 mil of testostorone (250mg) for last coiple of years for fitness and gym training , im 52 it really helps me sleep, is this not a good idea ?
It's important to be cautious with hormone supplementation, especially without medical supervision. Give us a call at +1 626 571 1234 for personalized advice.
Mine was "less than 10"--- is that not too low? 58 year olds ld, pregnenolone.,
A pregnenolone level under 10 may signal adrenal strain, highlighting the need for adrenal support.
Dr. Berg says otherwise. You don't take in account ageing.
Thanks for your comment! Dr. Berg has valuable insights, but pregnenolone's effects on AFS can vary. Aging does impact hormones, but individual responses differ.
