I wasn’t really making a statement on if the punishment was deserved pertaining to the actual action but that the NBA isn’t the “good” league they want people to see them as compared to say the NFL which is notoriously seen as a conservative league. If the player is good enough to make a team better and therefore bring in revenue they could care less about what they did, unless what they did would result in a loss of profit. Meyers Leonard was already at most 2-3 years away from being out the league , so he was a negative asset even if he was a plus on the court because he’s not as much of a plus as say a Miles Bridges. Same goes for Enes Kanter. The NBA is a neoliberal league and i’m not shocked at the PR moves, especially when it’s a player as inconsequential as Meyers Leonard.
