Dude decided to be an international jackass expecting U.S. bylaws and customs to apply to them overseas. He *absolutely* deserves worse. Remember, he's getting charged for what he did in Korea, that has no bearings on the stupid shit he's done in other countries. Even here.
I think part of the reason the courts are eager to make an example out of him is for the use of deepfakes of him making out with a Korean youtuber. Deepfakes are a HOT topic here right now, as we had several big scandals around it recently, so the court is showing no mercy.
@@Hangler613 no one in the world cares about some deepfake shit, that's just what you (a twitter user, likely) is most worried about. everyone hates johnny somali because he's a self admitted sociopath (even if he's not he's at least some sort of mentally deranged soulless NPC) that goes around bullying East Asian people "for money" "for clout". No, risk taking, impulsiveness and reckless indifference for the safety of self or others are all symptoms of antisocial personality disorder. Sociopaths simply don't think like normal people and their grandiose sense of superiority over others causes them to ignore a lot of self preservative things that any normal person would do if they got away with something , like laying low for their own good after a close call. They truly believe that they are above needing to think that way, and want people to know it...that's one reason why they do things like taunt the police when their trail goes cold, and why OJ wrote a book titled "If I Did It" rather than just being happy he got acquitted of murder like any sane person would.
As a person who always deal with American like you , I can say you all like this especially that kind of race, let's face it you all are bunch of hypocrites
Especially after knowing the tragic and horrific past of those monuments. This is a new low, I hardly believe that 29 years is enough for him to change
As a korean, I just wanna point something out about the judicial system in Korea. The prison sentences don’t stack up here like the States. Instead, they pick the worst charge from the list of crimes committed and base the sentencing off that only. Also the sentences are usually light for first time offenders of the crime being charged, so don’t think he’ll receive anything more than a probation or 3 years at best. Now with that in mind, deep fake crime has gotten a lot of attention recently, so if the court wants to make an example outta him, then he is utterly screwed.
the comfort women were often little girls abducted. The statues reflect that. he's not only disrespecting their history, he's dancing and kissing on the memory of a child with a tragic fate. its disgusting

@@norsehawk I have no knowledge at all of how the Korean justice system works, but many countries do not have a right to a speedy trial the way that the US does. It wouldn't surprise me if they're allowed to take their time there to get their papers in order prior to the trial.
He will only learn after a non-lenient sentence. While I was stationed in Korea, a soldier showed disrespect to the country. He quickly learned his lesson after the KPs got him. He cried when the US handed him back to them for his jail time.
I love that the Japanese subtitles during his apology call him out for lying when he says he doesn't know. The stuff in brackets (嘘)(大嘘)mean "Lie" and "Huge lie" respectively. Whoever was subtitling that wasn't having his BS apology.

Stuff like Korean-only restaurants or Korean-only bath houses etc still exist. - The most commonly punished crime over there is human trafficking, gang affiliation and rape. - They don't take mental health seriously. Unless you have some severe mental health disorder, you get locked in with the other, sane inmates. - Forced labour is legal in their prison system. All this means that this guy's gonna be the only black dude in a prison full of clinically insane, human-trafficking, racist gangster rapists, all the while doing unpaid, forced labour...for 29 years. He's gonna be put through literal hell for the next 3 decades.
He throws all Americans under the bus in his apology. Americans don't kiss random statues as comedy. What he did to those statues is dark, twisted, and un-American. His goal was to be disrespectful. He knew exactly what those statues comemorated.

The Korean people were quite respectful and patient with him, until they realised that he was making a mockery of their kind nature. I don't blame them for making an example out of him, they gave him multiple, multiple opportunities to tone it all down and show some respect, which in my opinion, the Korean people deserve respect, if not for anything else, for their patience in dealing with him. They don't want to encourage tourists to come to their country to disrespect them. No country wants to encourage that behaviour.
At 4:30 the police came up to him and says in broken English. You can hear keywords like "face" "assault" "recording" and "go home" in a really nice tone. Also the sentences are usually light for first time offenders of the crime being charged, so don’t think he’ll receive anything more than a probation or 3 years at best. Mistaking Japanese beer and Kanji for Korean just dug his hole even deeper 🤣
Don't bring him back here!

Oh damn, spotted a wild Alteori. Hi! 😮
Wtf I was not expecting to see Alteori here lmfao but I 100% agree please keep him or fling over to North Korea
A shiny Alteori.
America, you create idiots like this, you should deal with him
10:30 she doesn't want to press further charges. But!! the South Korean government passed a law recently that allows prosecution if anyone publishes or creates such videos. Because the law is so recent our fellow Johnny might actually be the first high profile precedent case of this law in action! Just the right timing :D
Nice
You don’t joke with Korean government. They had put the Korean president in prison for breaking the law. Good luck with American visa. lol
Shit if only we did that in the US
@@GunzerkingidiotTrump removed that. Presidents are now above law, so he can do whatever he pleases.
Every past Korean opposition president broke the law and almost all of them went jail except for a few
@@Bubblezz451nah, only the ones that go against the chaebol group go to jail. If they are friends & Leave aside the never ending assualt cases of cheabol then voila then no case no jail. "I have freedom, i am american"
Oh the delusion.
No
@@icebatofvalikinRRBZ8Yes delusional
Yes, actually
He thought he has the freedom to harass, assault, and commit crimes in other countries as an American. Disgusting.
@@icebatofvalikinRRBZ8 He was saying this IN KOREA. Apparently he is under the impression that he has US rights while in other countries.
That clip of him saying he’s a sociopath won’t go well for him in court lol
He’s going to get touched in prison
If the Koreans are anything like the Japanese, it's gonna be a Kangaroo court, he's doomed. Japan has like a 99%+ conviction rate, which is impossible in a fair court (For reference, in the US, 68% of dependents are convicted in federal court, state courts range from 56% to 84%). If you've been arrested, you WILL be be found guilty of something, no matter what, unless the case is dropped.
Yeah.. I was actually shocked to see that… I’m sure it’s true but most psychopaths are so honest like that and try to hide / fit into society. Not him though! I just hate the image he portrayed of Americans. I know Korea is our Ally and hope they know better that most of us TRULY respect them and their way of life.. this guy is just a psycho wanting clout and money. And now I hope he does pay for it!

dude thats just normal americans in asia. this guy just was stupid enough to film himself doing normal american things
@ I can definitely see tourists being obnoxious; that seems to be a trend, even with Asians traveling outside of their respective countries, but expats?
@blanco-sanchez450 Even expats.

This reminds me of a story I heard about a Russian in China. He saw that the people were polite and meek and he took advantage of it. Until one day they beat him to a point of brain damage. Do not mistake kindness for weakness.

Very well put.
My partner is Chinese and I know the mentality very well - even if I still don't understand a lot of things. They think differently than we Westerners and you shouldn't be fooled by their politeness. She likes to avoid conflicts, but has her ways of making me feel her displeasure.
At first I found visiting her family very unpleasant. Because I felt like a barbarian every time. You always think you're doing something wrong and insulting someone for a thousand years. The way this guy behaved is incomprehensible. Hopefully he learns something from it. He has enough time now.
