honestly, I'd think it'd be better to put the reverse training jump stuff in three separate parts. One for failing the reverse entirely, another for making it to the 'landing' (the area below the platform), and for the ones who can get back to the starting point completely.
It’s because using an aerial resets his air speed and acceleration to normal, so Sonic can also use up air or neutral air to travel farther. (But not down air because it’s a falling down air.)
Meta Knight can make the Reverse Training Stage Jump. Start neutral-b at the apex of the last jump and start mashing on frame 18. It’s possible to do it with frame 17 and 19 but 18 is the best. You have to mash the b button at a constant rate of 10 clicks per second or once every 6 frames, so it is humanly possible and I did it myself.
Sonic tech: side b and flick the right stick, he'll cancel the spindash into a jump and get a ton of distance (consuming the jump itself though), maybe he can make it that way
I'm pretty sure using his Down Special straight from the Spring sends him further than the spinshot technique in Ultimate, I know it does in the other games.
@@Callie_With_a_Bible Spin Dash travels at a *lower angle* right off the bat, Spin Charge doesn't, especially when it's used straight from the Spring. I tried it in both Smash 4 & Ultimate to know about this, therefore my reply still stands.
Fun Fact: Hero’s Down-B has a higher chance of rolling Zoom depending on how far away from the middle of the stage you are. It has a lower chance on-stage than it does when your, like, off-screen.
So basically if you have Thundaga active if you jump under stage and activate it, it’ll hit above the stage then just recover with up B and side B pretty affective if stage isn’t very tall. Just saw a video on it and holy crap it’ll catch your opponent off guard
I've been eagerly awaiting this update since the second video. Thank you for delivering. Get ready for more Mother Boy BS though because I *think* Lucas can make the reverse jump. Maybe. See, his up-b has a janky interaction with ledges where if you aim *just* below the ledge and hold down (so he doesn't snap to ledge) he'll shoot up way above the ledge. The height he gets seems to depend on how good your aim is and at what point in his up-b you touch the wall, with a sweetspot near but not quite at the end of his up-b (I don't think the height you get depends on the angle you're going at, or at least not much, thank goodness). I was able to use this property to get to the top of the left side by falling from the left side and starting my up-b just as Lucas's feet touch his right eyebrow in his P1 character portrait in fixed camera view. There *should* be other positions that will also give the required height, I think, and it's just a question of whether or not any of them are reachable when starting on the right side and bonking off the left wall. I wasn't able to do it, but I also have barely touched Lucas (or Ness) before this, so I'm far from competent at aiming his up-b. BTW, I was using 1/4 speed to make the positioning and timing easier, but from my testing I don't think that impacts the janky behavior at all, so this should all work at normal speed too. EDIT: After a bit more testing I was able to get up to the top of the left side twice at full speed, once with the setup I described above, and once by starting my up b closer to the wall and a bit lower down, going up at an even steeper angle to hit the ledge properly. Edit 2: Okay, I still haven't managed it yet, but I'm almost completely certain this is possible. The key is to bonk very high up the left wall, at the very end of your first up-b, so you get a small recoil, which you can cancel fast enough to get the correct horizontal position. Then it should just be a matter of controlling the up-b projectile precisely enough to hit Lucas at the correct vertical position and at the right angle to get the janky ledge fly.
someone else suggested this, and i was able to get the boost, but it wasn't close enough to reach sadly. were you able to reach from below the ledge with the second up-b, after a wall bounce?
@@PracticalTAS Not yet, but I'm almost certain it's possible. I'll keep plugging away at it and let you know if I manage it (no capture card so I probably won't be able to provide video evidence, unfortunately).

g&w is correct, and i did forget to do it, but it doesn't help him complete the challenge for sonic, one rule is that you can't get help from the other character, which includes bayo 2x side-b, sonic homing, belmont dair bounce, etc
@@PracticalTAS would using a homing attack for extra forward momentum (no extra player involvement, just the raw move) at the end have too much lag to then perform the air dodge up?
Using Hero’s up-b 2 might be better than his up-b 3 in a couple of these examples; it offers more horizontal mobility in exchange for less vertical mobility. Not that it matters too much since he made it regardless, but it might make the reverse jump less timing dependent, for example
Lucas might actually be able to make it. There’s a glitch with his up b that makes him go way farther when he passes by a ledge. Beefy smash doods showed off the glitch recently
To add to the list of Copy Abilities that Kirby can use to make the regular Training Stage Jump, there's another that I managed to pull off: Sonic - albeit, the timing is pretty strict, Kirby just barely makes it. To make it work, start with a jump into an airdodge (diagonally-upwards), going low past the ledge, then using jumps 2-5 carefully so that you've got as much height as possible (going just under the Battlefield portion). At the peak of the fifth jump, B-Reverse the Homing Attack in a position so that you bonk the other side of the Battlefield portion. Then use the last jump and time the Up B to get to the ledge. The B-Reversed Homing Attack part is the hardest part of this due to the way it works against the sides of stages, and it took a while to get down with some consistency. Without proper height going off that, Kirby just barely doesn't make it with that last jump into the Up B. I originally thought this Copy Ability wouldn't make it without Sonic standing at the ledge to Homing Attack off of (which I feel would have been cheating), but this method can work. It'll definitely take a lot of practice, though.
I think the Pac-Man route is made more difficult than it needs to be, I cannot record a route since I don't have a switch with me but I will outline the method Walk to the ledge to get a ledge teeter animation Place down hydrant Run off hydrant and roll to the ledge, so you're inside the hydrant Shield the 2 waters, so you stay inside Fully charge side b in the direction you want to go This makes the side b go much further than before and you still have your double jump. Beefy Smash Doods figured out in their video today that Lucas can grind up a wall with his UpB and he gets a huge burst of height. He might actually be able to make it doing that. You should check it out.
Oh wow, that must have been what happened in the original video with Lucas, and how I got it with only one up-b. I just tried it out and got the height burst, but it doesn't look like it's enough to reach - the extra speed looks like it stops when you stop riding the first ledge.
Apparently there’s a glitch that might help Lucas in particular get further, if not make it. If you can perfectly aim PK Thunder Tackle to slide along a wall and go above a ledge, the distance Lucas flies in the direction he was going in effectively gets doubled. I remember there was a Beefy Smash Dudes video on it or something.
META KNIGHT CAN MAKE IT! I found out! Basically you want to very carefully time each flap and always go under the platforms of battlefield, then once you get to the 30 line you mash neutral b like you never have before.
Pikachu can make the reverse jump! I'll see if I can record it, but in the meantime, here's the method I used: Roll left to ledge Full hop with left drift At peak of full hop, non-smash skull bash (undershoots right platform) Buffer double jump with left drift At peak of double jump, smash skull bash (overshoots left platform) Wait just a bit Non smash skull bash, holding down to not hit the ledge Wall jump At peak of wall jump, quick attack at angles about 120 and 150 Land on the stage :
pikachu can make it if you do 2 jump thunders and then you can do 3 tap side b's and just barely have enough height to up b before hitting the ground. i tried this a while back with pichu too and got it with a similar setup but wasnt able to replicate it
Mii Swordfighter can make it farther With the moveset 2132 Neutral b just stalls but with down b you can drift a bit farther like Mario, and the up be is Ike's if it drifted more, its strangely really good, of course, side b also helps
Pichu can make the Reverse Training Stage Jump. Jump down b as left as possible. Drift left a little bit after. Jump down b as left as possible again. Drift left a little bit after. Then 2 smash side bs, wall jump, then up b at angles 120 and 180.
Not saying Sora would make it, but I think you could push this further by stalling with another neutral special. Not technically someone went snooping through the files and saw a blank near the guardian helmet which might mean there's actually 1 last dlc character
Imma villager main let me explain the up b, the way it works is the up b as u know is very controllable allowing you to go up down if u don’t hit b right and left due to this in order to gain more control of the up b u must mash to avoid getting the balloons popped during a recovery and mashing super quick allows a slightly higher vertical gain then if u mashed slower due to the move being time based on that u have a time limit for how long u can go up without the balloons piping on their own if that makes an sense
Min min has a grounded up b that launches her into the air, can be angled, and doesn't stop her from double jumping, air dodging, or using aerial up b. I can't test right now but she might be able to make the normal training stage jump.
Sora with 2 extra jumps can make It from the right of temple around the mini island under the temple and grab the ledge of that mini island from the left
I’m pretty sure Sephiroth could’ve made it. What are you doing wrong was after you did all of that you air dodged and then he fell off stage and then you tried to recover, what you needed to do was just do his upper special sideways and then he probably would’ve grabbed ledge
Kirby can make the regular Training Stage Jump by using his copy ability on Jigglypuff, Marth, Lucina, Joker, Kazuya, and Sora too. (And Sonic if Kirby uses him again to home in on him, but that counts even less.)
Im super late but found out pikachu can do it easily, jump thunder and double jump thunder then side b 3 times, make sure to smash input, afterwards its easy to reach the platform w up b Wont work with pichu tho, his side b has a lot more endlag
Luigi can make the Reverse Training Stage Jump with only 2 misfires. I did it with 2 smash side bs each from a jump and I charged each side b until I got around the apex of each jump. I then did 2 more side bs with each one being a misfire. With the second misfire I stuck myself to the wall then I did up b and drifted to the leftmost platform.
Bayonetta can make the regular Training Stage Jump and ruclips.net/video/ISPEiAJaDu0/видео.html shows it at the end. I didn’t make that video but I made the jump with Bayonetta with a different method before that video came out.
Since hero can jump out of Zoom while falling down, is it possible to use that to make a less lucky reverse jump with the sheer height Hero gains, or is it too far regardless?
@@STHFan1992 The center of the stage isn't actually too far from the edge where the jump originates (around 4 blocks back on the forward zoom across), my question is if the height gained offsets starting slightly further back
Couldn't Kirby do it with Greninja hat again? Use all your jumps at the start then spam B to the other side? In the video going towards the right it looked like Kirby didn't lose very much height when doing that.

For the hero i think you can do it without hocus-pocus, maybe if you charge the tornado to level 2 , so you can go farther
he returns less goooo!!!!!
i got a smash ultimate ad before this lmao
If you timed pac man a bit better, jumping with the water (like you would for fruit gun) you can get a good chunk more height
Final DLC should've been Raiden.
triple misfire third into wall for luigi so he can make it and why can't you just pk thunder off the wall? (i'm talking about the walll to the far left right under where they need to get to)
Thanks for the likes
The luigi one makes sense but i dont get what you mean with the pk thunder one. How can he hit the far left wall when he cant even reach it?
@@tareqal-hasan4975 ness can infinitly bounce off things he can tech off of and at most points in the reverse jump theres a wall he can use.
@@gnarkaaga just read off the smash wiki to make sure right now and it says pk thunder can only be used once after bouncing of a wall with it. Bouncing another time of a wall will result in helplessness immediately. That's why i was confused with your comment. I would try it out myself but I dont have a switch
@@tareqal-hasan4975 oh. Sorry I thought Ness could just chill in the air forever.
2:08 "wanna see me speed bridge?"
Not technically someone went snooping through the files and saw a blank near the guardian helmet which might mean there's actually 1 last dlc character
my king
Eh, Kirby with jump monado art still makes it both ways. I would add a tier that says “requires specific move-set” specifically for him.
My brain hurt from reading all of that but it was helpful.
Try using more than 1 sentence next time though lol
@@desuvult8463 sorry it’s kinda complicated hard to skim down
dk can go slightly farther with cargo down throw due to the little flutter effect it has, but he still fails
Min min has a grounded up b that launches her into the air, can be angled, and doesn't stop her from double jumping, air dodging, or using aerial up b. I can't test right now but she might be able to make the normal training stage jump.
Even with ARMS Jump, her horizontal recovery isn't great, therefore she can't make it.
Mac can do with the aerial double jump tech, I swear bro, trust me bro
Sora with 2 extra jumps can make It from the right of temple around the mini island under the temple and grab the ledge of that mini island from the left
Actually, if you time it right Steve doesn't even need a minecart with the first jump
I’m pretty sure Sephiroth could’ve made it. What are you doing wrong was after you did all of that you air dodged and then he fell off stage and then you tried to recover, what you needed to do was just do his upper special sideways and then he probably would’ve grabbed ledge
He has to land on the leftmost platform, remember?
Lightly charged hero up b gives yu more control then the fully charged version
The king is back
I've been wondering for so long, how do you wall jump/cling off a same-sided wall twice?
I think it's a matter of gaining additional height.
Kirby can make the regular Training Stage Jump by using his copy ability on Jigglypuff, Marth, Lucina, Joker, Kazuya, and Sora too. (And Sonic if Kirby uses him again to home in on him, but that counts even less.)
Wow. Thank was quick
2:29 steve?
Ih just like the other ones i’m prob gonna be watching this one A LOT of times
Im super late but found out pikachu can do it easily, jump thunder and double jump thunder then side b 3 times, make sure to smash input, afterwards its easy to reach the platform w up b
Wont work with pichu tho, his side b has a lot more endlag
For hero have ya tried using acceltrattle and then use zoom? Because u can cancel zooms going down animation
Idea: Who can make the training stage jump without jumping
You can hold b for villager/isabelle up b to go high no need to mash
Mashing grants slightly more height than holding the button
@@gbx4858 that is news to me
YOU JUST GOT COCONUT MALLED SHARE THIS WITH ALL YOUR FRIEND ABSOLUTELY COCONUT MALL THEM
How many trys did it take to get jigglypuff across? Looks like the timing of the jumps and side b is very precise.
Joker would probably get closer if you used gun dash in the air.
Honestly, I don't think i've ever seen a smash bros racing/ distance / maze where Sonic DIDN'T succeed. Not ever since Ultimate first came out
what’s the difference between ness double bonk and Lucas double bonk? (i did not know lucas can do double bonk)
Idk either. For me i feel Lucas is easier to do since i main him.
Using Sora Blizzaga before firaga makes him jump a little further.
NIIIICE
maybe you can go across the stage with sora if you use an enemy as help cause then you can just f air him right? like 1,2 1,2 1,2
Bro I think Luigi can make it with triple misfire but that would be pain to go through
Luigi can make the Reverse Training Stage Jump with only 2 misfires.
I didn’t make that video but I made the jump with Bayonetta with a different method before that video came out.
hey thanks for letting me know, that's really cool
Since hero can jump out of Zoom while falling down, is it possible to use that to make a less lucky reverse jump with the sheer height Hero gains, or is it too far regardless?
It sends him to the centre of the stage, remember? It only makes it worse since he's going from the centre to the end.
@@STHFan1992 The center of the stage isn't actually too far from the edge where the jump originates (around 4 blocks back on the forward zoom across), my question is if the height gained offsets starting slightly further back
I said it makes it worse, so it obviously means no.
@@STHFan1992 Have you got video evidence of this?
No, it's just common sense really. You have to look at it horizontally, not just vertically.
Couldn't Kirby do it with Greninja hat again? Use all your jumps at the start then spam B to the other side? In the video going towards the right it looked like Kirby didn't lose very much height when doing that.
Keep in mind that Kirby was marked as a failure even when he used Copy Abilities to "pass".
So they decided to add wind bombing to smash in links move set
