Zippy's finally made its way to the mainland from Hawaii and it's very first location opened in no better place than the 9th Island, Las Vegas Nevada! I use to work for several restaurants. I usually wait about a month before going to a new restaurant. To giving time to work out their kinks. Its exciting to go right when they open. But chefs, service, etc are still working out timing and customer flow. So go with patience and open mind.

Zippys is not a new restaurant there been in business for over 50 years. They have several restaurants on Oahu. Nothing new it's just new to Vegas.

"Local" food, NOT Hawaiian food... Grew up with Zippy's, and will always stop by one of the many locations when visiting the islands. For Hawaiian food (laulau with lomi salmon and poi are my favorites), there are several great spots along Kapahulu, as well as, throughout the state.
Vegas is four hours on a good day from SoCal, so not really worth the drive just for the food, but looking forward to checking out the Ninth Island location in the future. Mahalo for the fun video!

Chili spaghetti and garlic bread, Korean chicken salad, WARMED apple napple (ask them to warm it). Chocolate dobash cake. My favorites from Zippy’s ❤️

When returning home from Vegas, I always stop by my local Zippy's and pick up a Zip-Pak.
No offense, but a Zip-Pak served on a plate and eating it with knife and fork just seems wrong. It's in a bento box and chopsticks for me.

Jay, if you like the Zippy's chili, you should come by my work Ewa 88 at Market on 8th. The owner modeled his chili after Zippy's chili. They also do an awesome Korean chicken.

@@JaycationToday is my last day working for Ewa 88. I'll be starting a new job on Monday in Miramar working for a new restaurant called Thai Pan.
Zippy’s is comfort food. You know what to expect and that the quality will be always great at every location.
BTW, you’ll notice that 85% of the cars at Zippy’s (and most other parking lots in Hawaii) are reversed into the stalls. It’s a Hawaii ❤ thing. 😊

I don't get to go very often so I don't mind sharing my favorite place but Lefty J's just east of the strip a bit is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas and we have tons of good spots.
I'm not Hawaiian, never even been but I'd love to hear what people think.

I’m so happy Zippy’s is now in Las Vegas! I just wish it was located within walking distance of the Strip or Downtown. I also wish they would open a Zippy’s on Kauai. 😭

Just to clarify, none of the food shown is “Hawaiian food” In Hawai’i, it’s known as “local food”. Hawaiian food is very specific to certain dishes.
Glad to see someone who knows the difference! This guy butchers up the whole Hawaiian culture. You should check out his Hawaiian videos for more inaccurate information.

I think you're giving the place too much credit. Yes, everyone was very friendly and while the food wasn't bad, $25 after tax and tip for spaghetti/garlic bread/soda is a bit much. I'll give it another try in February (according to the employees I spoke with) when they go 24/7 and the full menu is released.

There are Hawaiian transplants in Vegas that serve better food than zippys. Zippys is begging to look like L&L expanding to much not authentic.

Hawaiian Food consists of traditional Lau Lau, Kalua Pig, lomi salmon, pipi kaula, poi, and other dishes that have been made for many generations here in Hawaii. Zippy’s is a local style diner that was started by a local Japanese family with the last name “Higa”

I'm disappointed that even after your many Hawaii trips and hanging out with Amanda and Felix, you still refer to Zippy's as "Hawaiian" food. It's not, and it's somewhat disrespectful to keep saying that. Similar to people saying that Tua and Marcus (Mariota) are Hawaiian when they are actually Samoan. Also, you keep saying "in" Oahu. It's "on" Oahu.
No it really won’t change anything. It really is so overpriced. Even in hawaii
