I love his teaching. His teaching makes me understand the bible easily. He is an anointed teacher. Thank you so much for sharing the lessons. FATHER BLESS your family abundantly.
Bro David Pawson was truely an anoited teacher of the Word. By following his short video teachings has helped me in better understanding of the Word. Amen.
I read about many brothers and sisters led by the Holy Spirit to this channel as myself. I’m grateful to the Lord for helping me understanding better his Word. I read Philemon in the past but after this sermon I realised how much I’ve missed out from a “simple” letter. Peace
Thank you David Pawson what an amazing teacher “3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
Ever since the Holy Ghost lead me his way (Pawson), as a baby saint, he has really become instrumental, by God, for my upbringing in Christ. Truly grateful. The Anointing is evident. Beautiful, well developed gift and human. God's workmanship (Excellence).
6:04 bless you for understanding this passage correctly. again, your point of reading and studying scriptures as a whole, provides understanding based on context. jesus in so many instances was recorded as claiming to be god in action and words and also admitting surprise, thirst, etc.
Thankyou so much for this channel! So David said in min 17:01 that we should forget the things behind us, our failures as wel as our succeses. Shouldn’t we recognise are succeses that God has gave us to thank him for, from time to time in prayer?? And also our failures to learn from our past mistakes? I would love hearing from you!
Maybe Onesimus was beaten or told that he was to be sold; that could be the reason for him being a runaway. There is nothing that says that he was lazy and shiftless. Or why would Paul ask Philemon to take him back? And Paul boast of the worthiness of Onesimus to Paul's situation. Am I missing something brothers and sisters? I like this little 'sideshow', it reminds us that they were all everyday people like us. Love, love, love David Pawson. Can't wait to see him in heaven.
"Formerly he was useless to you" ruclips.net/video/uj6VvtIQBIU/видео.html It seems you missed this bit. So I saved the video at a specific point. Yes, there is a play on words in Philemon: 10 I appeal to you regarding my child, Onesimus, whom I fathered during my imprisonment. 11 Formerly he was useless to you, but is now useful to you and to me. translation notes: The words: Onesimus & useful are a Wordplay: This is the witty use of the meanings and ambiguities of words. Biblical writers commonly made plays on word meanings that can only be seen in the original languages. You may be thinking, that's not my point! But I'm not concerned about what Onesimus did to be useless. The who, what, when, or how he became un-useful. Paul said whatever he owes I will repay. The point of the epistle is here in these verses (vss. 10ff).
15:39 each time god accomplished a phase of creation, he declared "it is good." of course it is good to delight in being able to do good. this is a godly attitude. it is not feeling good about doing good that is wrong. it is feeling that one is good enough for being able to do good (self righteousness) and therefore does not feel the need for jesus.
6:19 referring to omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence as privileges is not scriptural. these are part of his being god, not privilege, just as having intelligence having feelings is part of being human.
Tropical fish are not a good example, unless you had created them in your own image and you needed to rescue them from being infected and destroyed by some very much other creation of yours !!
4:22 what jesus emptied himself were ABILITIES not common to man: omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, not his NATURE. he is of divine nature acquiring human nature at conception. he then was fully god and fully human in nature while he walked on earth. unlike satan who sought equality with god, jesus was already equal with god before he took on flesh.
If PHILEMON was such a lovely Christian brother as Paul mentions, did he not learn love and forgiveness from Christ or Paul. Why would he even consider crucifying or branding a slave? Why would he even treat someone as a slave or a property in the first place? Does someone need to be a Christian brother to be treated with compassion? Does he not know Christ preached love and compassion for all. Even those who are your enemies and persecutors ?
An analysis of medical and other scholarly literature from that period show use of σκύβαλα to mean dung, and not a profane word. I think Pawson was incorrect with his statement at 15:40
@@justinchamberlain3443 it appears that pawson was claiming that paul used a profanity (as some others have done), and "to quote an anglo saxon term" is a turn of phrase used by someone who doesn't like to swear, but is about to.
