Which fighting style do you think Whis is using? And who wants to teach Fattaah how to say anime names correctly lol.
The three Wing Chun techniques mentioned in this video are:
Pak Sau (Slapping Hand), Wu Sau (Guarding Hand) and Taan Sau (Palm Up Hand)
I'll help out
What do you think of the Elder(Hayato Furunji)’s fighting technique from History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi?
Hit's fighting style lol
I wanna see a video on garou and bangs fighting style from one punch man
I'll volunteer lmao. He should do Hit from Dragon Ball next. Or master Roshi as Jackie Chun when he fought Krillin/ Kid Goku.
Whis’s use of Wing Chun makes some sense when you consider that he always has Ultra Instinct on, which would enhance his already formidable defensive capabilities.
Makes even more sense when you remember angels aren't allowed to fight mortals so he uses a more defensive style
Edit: I have been corrected and informed
2nd edit: I'm taking any corrections at face value because I don't read or watch super. All I know comes from a few movies, anime channels I watch that discuss it and my friends talking about things while I'm around and me piecing things together from that information.
I'm not that versed so you could ignore this comment
@@BMCKINN7they can fight just not rly interfere
@@diveblock2058 oh, my fault. I don't watch super. That's just how it was explained to me. Thanks 🙏🏾
@@diveblock2058 but wait, wouldn't turning back time with Freiza be interference?
@@BMCKINN7 yes but since hes undoing destruction on beerus's command he can...even if hes not supposed to...the entire law basically works on one guy going "ill allow it" every now and then
like in the manga there is a angel that breaks a rule and the grand priest kinda just lets him off
Im not gonna lie i feel like ive seen this man in an anime somewhere and now im convinced hes been isekaied to help us learn about martial arts and fighting styles
Reminds me of a mix of Migel and teen Gojo
I know it’s not an anime, but maybe he reminds you of Morpheus from The Matrix?
@heyu2395 mix Dutch from black lagoon and teen gojo with the chill of Miguel its the best at the image I'm getting in my head but again I love how he looks like someone plucked him straight from a manga that I'd probably would read
Leroy Smith from Tekken
different hairstyle and drip tho
but also uses Wing Chun, also has sunglasses and also talks chill.
@@ilikestuff8218 HE KINDA DO THO I agree
Leroy smith think he slick by shaving the dreads 😭🙏
The 🐐 😂
😂😂
I can’t unsee it.
Was looking for this comment lmao
I was thinking the same thing Bro well played 😂
The angels fighting in dbs is confirmed inspired by wing chun so good observation👏🏽👏🏽
Angels... wings... makes sense.
@@cctomcat321Ding ding ding! You get it! Top Comment!
@@cctomcat321you motherfucker…you’re onto something, you genius.
It’s crazy that you can go to school and get a doctrine in this
@@JustinRamsey-m4d you get doctorates, not doctrines. Might want to get the two correct before doing this weird intellectual superiority bit.
Not going to work all that much more, but at least it isn't the equivalent of laughing at someone while immediately slipping on a banana peel... 😄
The fact that Toriyama had so much inspiration from Chinese culture, I wasn't surprised when I noticed Whis using Wing Chun.
Journey to the west and Jackie Chan are the only inspiration. If he really cared for the culture Yamcha, Tien, and krillin wouldn't be back burner fighters.
@@Xannyphantom905They all have been main characters. They can't stay main characters forever as the show progresses. Krillin is Hall of Famed! A Shaolin Monk is the best friend of the main character. That's 🐐 status. They have all had shining moments. And they are still around!
@@theactiveactivist515 Yamcha and Tien have never been main characters, and krillin being a cheerleader is not something to be proud of. I'm not saying they gotta be main characters but they're irrelevant when it comes to fights that matter. Even 17 randomly got a power up to Goku level and he tried to kill Goku.
@@Xannyphantom905 Tell me you've never watched OG DB without telling me..
Great presentation and narration of the fight.
Always nice to see you! Thanks for the awesome comment.
Zack from dead or alive is not who I expected to see in a youtube short, but I'm a fan
I'm a martial artist myself but never realized whis was using Wing Chun techniques against Goku and Vegeta until I seen you break it down in this video. That's crazy. Great video! 😁😎💯
I knew right away when I watched it because I practiced for two years
U must be a shitty martial artist then 😅
So you're No Martial Artist... Evrey Martial Artist analyzes another fighters style
It’s crazy to say that knowing you would get demolished is a street fight Ctfu
That martial art shyt is for show not real life
@@critkid I actually am. Been in martial arts since my late teens currently in my mid 20s. And just cuz I didn't notice at first certain techniques a anime character from an anime that usually has fast super paced combat was using doesn't mean I'm not a martial artist. Plus I'm not that familiar with Wing Chun since while I know of the style I never practiced it or met a Wing Chun practitioner in person.
Real life Leroy from Tekken right here just with less hair💯💯💯
The Grandmaster has returned to embrace us with his knowledge!
These breakdowns are really interesting to see just how much effort was put into the fight
We NEED a full breakdown of Mike Tyson vs Ip Man from Ip Man 3 by Fattah!!
We filmed it :)
That fight was actually so good. I like that Ip man essentially lost. Mike was just way too strong. And for his size you'd assume he was slow, but he was JUST as fast as ip man he kept up with all his moves and countered with more power.
Yes
😂
This is so cool i can't believe i never realized Whis hit Goku with the Ip Man 😂
Brilliant breakdown. Wing Chun is the coolest defensive style for me.
I think this man should play Leroy in the next Tekken live action
He also can't really interfere in mortal matters, or he will die. It actually makes a lot of sense for him to only deflect and block attacks because he can't really fight back.
This was a training session to be fair, so he likely could have fought back if he wanted, but he is so vastly above the level of anyone in Universe 7, that fighting back wouldn't teach them anything. Another great example though of where he doesn't fight back in a situation where he realistically would have if he was able too without the threat of erasure, was against Broly. There he just casually dodged all of Broly's attacks with both hands behind his back lol.

The return of grandmaster fattaah
Love hearing explanations like this and how they fight
Pretty sure Hayato Sou uses this style in Wind Breaker too.
Yes, be my comrade in arms in championing Wind Breaker. I have been eagerly anticipating anything from Wind Breaker on Scenic Fights ever since Episode 1.
Lets GOOO i've missed the resident wing chun master
Yep! I agree with Fattah’s assessment. Lots of Wing Chun movements
In the interest of seeing more Fattaah, I would love to see him talk about the Wing Chun used by Hayato Suo from the new anime Wind Breaker.
There is a fight scene in that show where Suo seems to combine elements of Wing Chun with certain locks and take downs to embarrass his opponent. It might make for a fun little short.
Finally, more Fattaah!!!
Wing chun may not be practical in the professional scene, but it looks badass.
It's a great spiritual practice and has some awesome history but in today's age should never be your primary way of defending yourself
Wing Chun has been used to excellent effect in mma.
@KryptonBorn1 Just out of curiosity, when has wing chun been used successfully in mma. Not trying to call you out or anything, genuinely interested since wing chun is generally regarded as pretty useless in anything other than videos of bullshido masters.😂
@KryptonBorn1 LOL like who , who uses it??? Wing Chun is only for show 🤣🤣🤣 Just because it works in a movie, doesn't mean it works in reality ..
@@KryptonBorn1 there is far more proof to the opposite lol.
this man is the guy you don't mess with on the streets
I find it enjoyable when someone points out the fighting style of an anime
I like this a lot
Man, Fattah is too cool tbh
Excellent breakdown. Your explanation makes good sense.
Best breakdown Whis never wastes any movements.
Your voice is so smooth and soulful. Also great short. Very observant.
Thank you 💪🏾
@@ScenicFights of course. Have a blessed day.
What's cool is the animators that throw those references in their work
I just came across this while scrolling and I must say. It stopped me in my tracks and I was immediately invested. Nicely done with this, good analysis and terrific breakdown. You have earned yourself a new subscriber.
Thank you very much for the comment and subscription! If there are any other Wing Chun fight scenes we should breakdown, let us know!
Is that LEROY?? "WHOSE THE MASTER?"
SHO’NUFF
This is the best thing I've seen all day
I want to see y’all break down the actual uses of a stop sign like how it’s used in lethal company.
Toriyama was such a creative author, shame he passed. I wouldve loved to see more dragon ball stuff like this😔
Amazing video and explanation, but am I the only one who heard him mispronounce his name?
I always mess up them anime names - Fattaah
If you broke down various fighting styles across all anime shows, I think you’d go viral! 🎉
Great video!!
Really makes you think about all the thought that was put into animating the scene
In conclusion : To get Ultra Instinct we must learn Wing Chun
Sensei 🙇🏾♂️
I like this breakdown ❤️
Do momoshiki vs naruto and sasuke break down. The hand to hand combat in that fight was amazing
We did! You can watch it on our #shorts playlist
@@ScenicFights I also remember you talking about the Validity in Sasuke's Arm-Bar In one of his earlier fights!
Perhaps one day when you're in the mood you could try to break down what Sasuke's martial art's/fighting style is, Using The Various Fights in the anime where he actually uses Taijutsu? In the boruto Era we don't really get to see him use Taijutsu anymore, So we Really only have Naruto and Shippuden to try to Determine what his Taijutsu style was before he even lost an arm! and now that we know that Naruto Uses Wing Chun more then anything else, I'm curious to see what his Rival's martial art (Or Art's Plural) is!
I really enjoy these sports you make. Thank you.
Glad you enjoy these Shorts! Let us know which other fight scenes or characters we should breakdown next.
I like wing chun it is a very defensive fighting style and real life ultra instinct.
There is mushin no shin (無心の心), or "the mind without mind", which is akin to Ultra Instinct since it is a state of being able to act without thinking, of being in the movement and reacting instinctively.
@@GreatSageGoku the mushin no shin is a technique invented by Bruce Lee and I have been trying to achieve it, but to be honest I don't know how to achieve it I try though. 😔
@@connormarcus4225Bruce Lee was a master at many martial arts and created hybrid martial arts like "jeet kune do" or the intercepting fist which combined the fundamentals of modern mma like kick boxing with defensive arts like kung fu. That flow state was achieved because Bruce has practiced for decades. Don't just learn wing Chun as it's a spiritual art meant to discipline you rather you should also learn mma as it could actually enable you to defend yourself were as wing Chun will just get you hurt because it's not a valid fighting style
Real quick, I want this guy as Leroy Smith if there's ever a live action Tekken movie/series
Analyzes the fighting style of the garou, from one punch man
I really like how this gentleman broke it all down. 10/10
I love this man.
💪 Appreciate the love
I never knew that he actually had technique to his movements in the show! That’s so cool!!!
Im learning wing chun small world 😅
Ik that was allot but stay safe friend and keep practicing
The explanation made the scene so much better
Please analyse hayato suo fight from wind breaker
Wing Chun practitioner for 12 years here✋🏿, it’s great to see the system being used in a Premiere Anime.. if you look closely you can see Whis using a Bong-Sau before he reaches out to Goku’s neck.. Great work.
Chen 🤜🏿🫷🏿
I thought that's what he was using, I'm glad you confirmed it for me
Professional MA DragonBall Breakdowns is now my new favorite genre
That was a great break down
Wing Chun seems to be a really viable fighting style, considering you can do extremely fast and quick attacks to your opponent without hurting yourself or letting the opponent hurt you. I don’t personally know since I’ve never used Wing Chun or learned it, but it seems pretty good for self defense from what I’ve seen.
The movies make it look cool. In a real life scenario it’s not really effective. There’s a video of a wing chun user going up against an mma fighter & he got wrecked. When the WC fighter assumed his stance the mma fighter just rushed him & knocked him off balance. All the IP man movies just make it look cool but it’s all just choreography. Yes you can hit people but there’s no power in the strikes. If you’re going up against an opponent that can take hard hits you’re finished.
I can listen to you talk about Dragon Ball fighting styles all day, bro love it
Broooooo seriously good break down!!! I enjoyed the video
Subbed immediately this an OG who know how to reach the youth 💪🏾
I'm really blown away I didnt know that anyone broke down there fighting style but I never knew I'm shocked and I gotta watch more
Excellent videos dude, I dig it.
I freaked out about Whis when I saw this scene. I am a practitioner of jkd and of course you know the roots of that art. I love when real combat styles enter other genre.
Dude all I gotta say is I love this guy
Subbed for this
Thank you! We have more anime Wing Chun breakdowns on the way.

When Gogeta got serious against Broly, Gogeta did that pose, and Wiz raised a brow 🪶
Man seeing Wing Chun used in any media makes fights 110% better
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 good break down og
I like that they are giving actual martial arts representation in DB now. Also this guy seems pretty cool
He doesn’t really have a fighting style he just fights on instinct without thinking
When Whis’ eyes are low, he’s studying you and he’s training with you is about to get intense
Wing chun has always been my fave. We got Whis Chun now
this is so fire bro, I wish more people would speak on the callbacks in these shows 🔥
Wow... as a former martial artist... you just blew my mind!
I used to do the mistake of believing DB hand to hand fights were just punch 'n kick barrage but I heard someone mention they use many martial arts they learned along the way, and watchign stuff slowed down with narration really changed my view on it too
Thanks 🫴🏼🫸🏼 that was dope.
We really need an Ip Man break down with Fattah. Cant wait to see it. Good short, i really like it. Love, Martina
W video, I've always wanted to see someone debunk a Dragonball fight and here it is, made perfectly on top of that, hats off 👏
Looks like I just found my new favorite channel
Glad you found us 💪
Been waiting for this one!!!
I got a whole new appreciation for the anime after watching this 🤯
if tekken would make a live action this guy right here needs to be Leroy smith
Good thing Leroy Smith himself took time to explain this to us 😊
Great video sir.
This guy looks like a mortal kombat character
Thank you for what you do! 🙏
This feels like a spiritual lesson
I never thought about that, but that's totally true. True defense with Ultra Instinct would lend credence to all the deflection techniques he uses
Love the breakdown take my sub
Thank you! Let me know which other Wing Chun fights I should breakdown next 💪🏾
Leeroy teaching some wing chun
Hit also uses a similar Wing Chun style. that would also be a good one to break down
Makes sense when Whis wasn’t really trying to hurt or beat Goku but test his capabilities 🧠
Still one of the coolest looking fighting styles
I love how Leroy Smith is breaking down whis fighting style LOL
You are Tekken’s Leroy, you can’t fool us
Never seen a DB video like this 👌🏾💪🏾
i knew it was Wing Chun from the stance on frame one, been doing the art for 15 years now, love it
