    Contrary to popular misconception, jkd is not a fighting philosophy, even though he describes it in a philosophical way it’s not that. Bruce described jkd best when he told William cheung on his thoughts on Chinese arts and his style in 1969: "William, I’ve lost faith in the Chinese classical arts…my line of training is more toward efficient street fighting with everything goes, wearing head gear, gloves, chest guard, shin/knee guards, etc…I’ve named my style jeet kune do, reason for my not sticking to Wing Chun is because I sincerely feel that this style has more to offer regarding efficiency."

    It's also great to mention about the history of silat, Before modern times, Silat was often paired with "keris". A traditional knife. And they often read charms and curses on it to be protected during combat. Sometimes even on their own body. Their practice include meditating while calling out name of djinns which are going to be the one securing the safety of the person.
    A famous story i heard, one silat technique that requires the person's head to separate with the body. The head would have the keris in their mouth and fly around attacking people from the air. Whilst the body just fights on the ground.
    However now, silat doesn't use this kind of techniques anymore since most Asian countries, especially Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, bans the use of magic, or curses
    Silat is also a very deadly form and competitions would set certain rules in order to have a safe match.

    • @faxify453
      @faxify453 9 месяцев назад +2

      nah, the curses and the djinns are also still used nowadays both in silat and general, it is illegal in Indonesia but many ppl still secretly use it especially if u have a business or smthn, and the witches called "dukun" and the curses called "santet" , while also they use some items like keris, ring, etc that equipped with magic as amulets

    Can you make a video on the differences of the techniques between japanese jiujitsu, brazilian jiujitsu, hapkido, combat hapkido, combat sambo, sambo and judo?

    • @HA11EYS_COM3T
      @HA11EYS_COM3T 8 месяцев назад

      Well I can tell you about sambo and judo.
      Jiujitsu is basically all about grappling and submissions, with some exceptions, namely some takedowns.
      Judo is basically all about takedowns, lots of throws and such. Some submissions in there as well.
      Granted, I may be wrong and those are both oversimplifications.
      Anyway sambo is a Russian martial art that was developed in the Soviet Union after what was essentially a ban on anything non-Russian being practiced. It’s its own mix of judo, jiujitsu, and various forms of wrestling, primarily Eastern European styles. It’s incredibly intense and physically demanding. Combat sambo is like sambo except with striking as well. Sambo is kind of like a self contained Russian mma in a way.

    • @notreallyafamousartist695
      @notreallyafamousartist695 8 месяцев назад

      Japanese jiu jitsu is much more similar to judo with a longer allotted ground time, in judo you only have like 5-8 seconds to execute a submission before they stand you up. In Bjj takedowns are not awarded and are rarely practiced heavily as nobody cares about the stand up
      Japanese Jiu Jitsu removes both of these weaknesses by conjoining judo throws & takedowns with bjj subs
      Why Bjj is diff than Japanese jj is because it evolved with different guards and more elaborate submissions since it was only focused on the ground game. This led to people specializing in either Bjj or judo and Japanese jj basically became a lost art

      Non è così perché vedi ogni paese ha la sua arte marziale originaria ok fin dall alba dei tempi ok perché tutti combattevano avevano un loro stile proprio capito? Quindi che poi le arti marziali si sono influenzate a vicenda questo è un altro discorso ed è anche così ma dire che le arti marziali si sono originate in un unico paese non ha senso per niente queste sono leggende popolari e dicerie e anche perché non ci sono prove certissime che sia così del fatto che il kalari è la madre di tutte le arti marziali quindi .

    To be honest, though I found it better than expected as the first part of each “martial art” was mostly (not always) OK (as a short info for someone who really has no idea of martial arts / fighting sports / etc.), but the second part was often inaccurate or simply bla-bla.; all together it was a lazy job done with/by an AI, sadly without having been checked and reedited afterwards by somebody who knows better. With other words: if it would have been done only in 5 minutes with an expert human redaction it could have been much-much better.😁 Not to mention: it’s very-very far of being every martial art. But most importantly: shouldn’t be forgotten: AI is just a(nother) tool which makes the work easier and not something what makes the whole work!
