    I've loved seeing people work with brusho crystals and am so glad you did a inspiration video! Since I am more of an artist than crafter, I tend to have artist grade materials and I've been interested in these for years. Thank you for the review!!

    I found this "older" video of yours, Jennifer, and the Brusho technique caught my eye as I just have been introduced to them...I ADORE them and your techniques are so "do-able"! I have a suggestion as to how to store your little jars of Brusho after poking the tiny holes in them...I just poked one hole in center and put a push pin in the hole to store them! Easy peasy and a very inexpensive way to store...Again, Jennifer....you are my absolute favorite! So glad I found this one!

    I bought the "Magenta" brand of these a while back & absolutely LOVE them! You can paint with them, Brushos, etc. like regular watercolors... soft of! The colors can get away from you very quickly, as you said, VERY concentrated!!! That cannot be overemphasized!!!
    They tend to be transparent, but are staining in my experience. You can lift them though, at least the Brushos & the Magenta ones... There are quite a few brands out there. It seems Brushos has quite a few tutorials if you're looking! There are paper apparently "embedded", or coated pigments too in a few brands, and those are similar in that they're all very concentrated... Peerless makes those watercolors, and those are a bit less concentrated, but are still concentrated too!
    I love them all! Just have to use differently than regular watercolors & in micro tiny amounts, as they can EASILY make a page a single color with just a few grains of sand!
    Nice tutorial! I use them in a pallet, shake them on then spray water on them too!
    I love the embossing with these! I'll have go try that too some time! Very pretty!

    great review. I have some brushos and they are fab and brilliant, I also have some bistre powders and they are more natural, like subdued (rusty) colors and they do not mix well, the brushos do andwith just the three main colors you can mix and get all the other colors. it's very messy and it doesn;t come ot of your clothes..ask me how i know :-(

    Thanks for sharing!though i would've loved to see an example of each color in the 12 pack and how they compare to the Ken olver color bursts. From what i could tell the brusho colors had a lot more pigment for only a little more $....

      Gavi S i likely will do another video in the future and i can show colors. i don't have the ken oliver (i tend to go with the "originals" when i can) but i can show the brusho.

    • @mccosha
      @mccosha 9 лет назад +1

      Gavi S the color bursts are the same but you get much less.
      and you can make both like i did - i got the whole collection of brusho colors from the UK and put about 1/4 of the contents of the jars in little plastic containers I got from SKS bottles the 04 size (www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin22m.html) and for 7 bucks you have your brushos AND your squeeze ken oliver bottles. The amount of pigment you get in the brusho containers will last you for a lifetime.
      But I would get the 24 colors - cost-wise it's a better deal.
      I created a swatch and adhered on top of my jars - if you want to see the 24 colors, they are here: stampingbuzz.com/sunflower-in-brusho/
      but i am a watercolor painter, so in this example, I used it as traditional wcs. they are VERY fun - but they WILL stain the boogeesus out of you. they were actually created as fabric paint, so if it gets to your clothes, it won't come off.
      i suggest getting yourself an apron and "decorating" it with brusho like i did :D
      it's addictive. I don't think I have made one card without it since the beginning of May!

      Ariane M Thanks for this tip. I LOVE the look you get from this type of powered but I hate the fact that you have to poke a hole in the top of the jar. Something about the lack of control you lose as well as the ugly look of a random hole bothers me. If I had no other options I guess I would deal with it but knowing that Ken Oliver's Colorburt has a better delivery system intrigued me. That said, I don't want to spend more money than I have to and a good deal lis a good deal as well as getting two products for less than the price of one. LOVE it.

    • @mccosha
      @mccosha 9 лет назад +1

      GPhoenix08 kinda.
      you would need to add some kind of filling - only color shavings will overload the water with pigment.
      these crystals are about 1/4 clear.
      maybe if yo shave some white crayons and mix you might get something just like it :)

      Kathy Amstutz Hi Kathy, I have, for many years used powdered dyes (Dylon) to get exactly the same results. I'm not sure what the price is on the Brushos, so perhaps it would work out about the same, but if you look out for a good price on dyes, you can just buy 2 or 3 to try them out and add colours as you feel you need more. Hope this helps.

      Rob K the Bisters are from Denmark and they are way more expensive than the Brushos, and they are a different kind of pigment as well... but getting the brushos from the UK was not hard - i got my set as a gift and afterwards i bought 2 as gifts. Dylon are the fabric ones?

      Yes, I used the powdered Dylon fabric dyes, but they work perfectly on paper too.
