Just purchased a 23 Escape St Line Elite for the wife, we love it so far. The 2.0 ecoboost is no slouch!
Just discovered your channel, very glad i did, professionalism at a peak level and just overall very entertaining to get to experience all these vehicles AR style!
his videos are like ASMR for car guys
I love my 2020 Titanium Hybrid. The infotainment looks really nice on this one compared to mine though.
whats ur favorite thing about it? IM thinking about getting a new escape titanium hybrid this year.
The group quickly understood that toxic waste was the most effective barrier to use against the zombies.
That pop up heads up screen is so 2016. C'mon Ford.
I want this car so much🥹
The boxy body style was so much better
if you drive often always watch on gear selector, not convinient looks for me. didnt drive it but this is less convinient than prius 2013 i drive or then on a new porshes on a dash that i didnt drive too.
Odd that an Elite trim doesn’t have paddle shifters. My 2018 Escape SE w/ Sport Package has paddle shifters.
43k jesus christ were in the silly ages
Had a brand new 22 titanium. Junk. Traded it in after 8 months. Engine kept going into fail safe mode. The interior is plastic everywhere. Rattles everywhere. Bridgestones became extremely loud after only a few thousand miles. Such a disappointing vehicle for me.
I have had three Escapes, it has been one of my favorite vehicles! I am curious what Ford will do with this size after the nameplate is retired.
They are turning it into a 7 seater is was I heard and longer of course
The screen is laggy af and this is brand new! We bought the entry level escape and the smaller screen works very well plus analog air-condition button for the win!
Half way through the year it switched and is fast as your phone now
10:14 made me subscribe instantly and immediately comment on your intense descriptions, you are like me, perfectly skilled as a reviewer, to mention the tiniest details that matter SO MUCH. SUBSCRIBED FOREVER
The wife and I bought one of these fun toys and we LOVE it!! Ton's of power and that means TON's of fun!!
I dont hate it, but I'm still scarred from my 02 Focus and its dropped valve seats. Also my mom had the transmission blow on her 08 escape, and my dad had endless issues with his 05 F250. I know its been decades since anyone in my family has owned a Ford, but its tough to get back that trust after so many nightmare vehicles.
My oldest sister, her husband, and their daughter are blue blood ford owners. They’ve had a couple good ones, but most of them have had major issues. Here is the latest example.
Two years ago her husband bought a new F150 with the v8 and 10 speed. The transmission gave out with less than 10k miles, ford replaced it. Fast forward to earlier this year; he sold that truck to some guy privately. A week later the guy he sold it to called back pissed because the transmission failed on him.
Man idk, I’ve only owned one ford and it was a 2012 escape v6, 2wd. It didn’t drive very nice and it wasn’t particularly comfortable for long trips. But since I’m not a ford guy and I bought it used, I did the bare minimum in maintaining that suv and the few issues that ever popped up, I just ignored and they went away (except for the brake line collapse, I had to replace that). Honestly for a car that I drove 150 miles a day five times a week for five years, it was pretty damn reliable all things considered.
And even after that, I wouldn’t buy another ford again in my lifetime. I actually sold it this year and got a Chevy colorado back in February.
Those very early Foci and the last generation Escort shared the SOHC 2.0L SPI/CVH engine. It was notorious for that issue. It took my moms Escort out right at 101k miles. The 2.0L/2.3L Mazda engine that they used in some 03+ and all 05+ was bullet proof.
I had an 2004 Ford Focus and it literally disintegrated inside and out within 5 years. And I take excellent care of my vehicles.
@@Ricky-mo6mv my 03 did the same thing. It literally disintegrated due to rust. My dad's 06 and my 2011 were both solid cars tho.
K@@CTjacob13 The last time I had a Ford was a 3 year lease of a 2017 Ford Fusion. That was actually a very nice vehicle. No problems in 3 years, but I suppose that doesn’t say much. However, it certainly lost its “feel” of being and riding like a new vehicle. My next 3 year lease was a KIA Seltos, and that felt and looked the same as the day I brought it home. Currently in a Hyundai Tucson and loving that!
Glad you’re finally driving one. We had a 2020 Escape 2.0T as a company vehicle for about a year. It was overall a decent suv, fuel efficient and comfortable.
The 8 speed automatic was very unrefined and jerky in traffic, and the B&O subwoofer in the trunk would rattle. Looks like they’ve fixed those issues for the facelift which is nice.
I have a 2020 escape titanium. The whole thing rattles not because of bad quality but because I have subwoofers in mine. The car seems to handle the bass very well. First thing I did was take out the weak spice b&o sub
I’ve had a 16 and now a 24 for work, absolutely night and day difference
Thanks for the video. I ordered a 2024 Escape ST-Line Elite. I wanted the Atlas Blue but it was not listed on the website.
if the car is stolen , can we loacate it ? as a GPS inside car ?
Yes 100%. The My ford app also shows it which took 1 second to setup. It's really accurate
I have a 2013 ford escape titanium, seeing this 2024, first thing I notice is there is still no place to put small things. Not much different than my '13, except for the wireless phone charger. I don't like to have keys, wallet, phone, in my pockets when I drive. I was just in a 2023 Toyota Rav4 and there is plenty of "cubby" space in the front for small things. Thanks for the review.
Love my 2013 Titanium 2.0L
The best thing about this car is the big sloping windshield adn seating position. It gives amazing visibility and makes the front area roomy. Also, side mirrors are pushed forward so you don't have to turn your head too much. Any other car feels like you are super close to the windshield and feels very compact. Engine is good and reliable, definitely underrated.
Very true. The Sight of vision is Best in class.
Awww my 2020 escape is just falling apart. Rusting on the tail gate and needed front struts. Oh Ford... Fuc* off
A few creeks and rattles already? No I wouldn’t want that. I wish manufacturers would go back to standard sunroofs as they had far fewer issues, less noise, less creaks and rattles and were just a more simple design. Like the new Chevy Trax and Buick Envista they use standard sunroofs and that is plenty for me.
The door panels on these Escapes look so cheap and are all plastic besides the armrest. For a car of this price that should not be. Cheaper cars yes but not this price point. Heck even a top trim Mitsubishi Mirage SE for $20,000.00 has a cloth padded door arm rest then fabric material inserted in the whole center portion of the door as its the top trim line for the Mirage. You would think in this trim they would have added the leather on the doors like Mitsubishi does in the Outlander, Outlander PHEV, and the Eclipse Cross.
However I do love the large screen its very impressive and I love the exterior styling its super sharp! Also the gauge cluster is pretty neat.
I would buy the 2023 Ford Escape All Wheel Drive Hybrid
unpopular opinion maybe but I just love the ford chimes. Really nice XD
Luckily you can find these discounted by $4-5k. That puts it more in line with the CRV hybrid touring. Thisll be much quicker and has better tech than the Honda though.
In terms of reliability, the CRV is better.
I’ve seen a 2021 Escape need a new transmission after 70k highway miles with the base 1.5. Stick with a manufacturer that isn’t domestic, the discounts just aren’t worth the headaches anymore.
Another thing is that the CRV might have better lane centering and adaptive cruise. Honda's next-gen camera ADAS is apparently decent.
@@MukisaSS even with the CVT and tiny displacement 1.5 turbo? Ford’s been making the 2.0 ecoboost and 8 speed for years.
@@SixGap fair point. We’ve had horrible luck with wife’s 2022 Tucson so shopping around. Honda and Toyota are probably the safest bet, but just boring.
Does anyone know if the escape offers cooled/ventilated seats or if it’s just heated seats? If so which trims?
They don't PERIOD any trims
How did you get the atlas blue??? The 2024s i thought only offered the Vapor Blue.........
Did anyone else see the black part of the concrete under the car and think it was a huge oil puddle?
My Ford dealer uses these for Drops and i feels its power but a bit overpriced. If ford lowers the price they would sell.
I have a 2020 Escape Hybrid. You make me want to trade mine lol
why do you all use the same music for the test. I want to hear the rattle capacity of the lows. Might I suggest something like Let’s Live by FKJ
How would you compare this to cx-5? Which do you prefer more?
CX-5 definitely punches above its price tag for its class. If you are in the market for a vehicle in this class, go with the Mazda for sure. Still built in Japan too so that’s a huge plus.
@@thefleegle7202 It doesn't, slower, less cargo space, less leg room, price is cheaper, but not by a significant margin. It's taster's choice.
If it is considered an ST then they should have put the 2.3 in it at least. Even the Lincoln edition of the Escape offers the 2.3.
Have you drove it? I had it for a loaner, I HATE ford right now because my F150 is junk. This new 2.0 escape rips and it was fun too drive. I wouldn’t pay that much for one though.
Not anymore it doesn’t
Actually a really fun car to drive. But because ford service is near par to talking to 12 y.o. Petulant adults I must go with grown matured manufacturers.
$43k for a Ford Escape, they're trippin'
how old are you if you don’t mind me asking.
Don't like a vehicle with botton gear selector. Over-modernization carried in-built engineering problems.
Why not the 2.3L to actually make it special? It’s not hard Ford, if you did they’d sell like hotcakes.
Gotta pony up to the MKC/Corsair for that sadly
They wouldn’t sell like hotcakes, and Ford knows it, lol.
@@TranceFur people purposely buy the 2.0 for the power, it’s not a bad engine. The 2.3 wouldn’t sell better you think?
They stopped putting 2.3 in the Corsair
Too much torque steer. The electric power steering has a hard time countering the 2L torque steer as it is.
I thought the 2.0L Turbo has a 3500lb towing capacity, not the base 1500lb rating.
Wouldn't purchase this at 43, or even low 30s
Low 30s for the top trim sounds more reasonable than 43k for this especially when there are way better options available in this class for the same price or less
NPC car
The average price of new vehicles is well over 45k. This is a nicely equipped little crossover for the money. Gone are the days of sub 30k nicely equipped cars.
Low 30’s would at least make it a viable option. Not that I would buy it, but you know what I mean.
@@churchyandfriendsthe Mazda CX30 can be had decently equipped for $30,000 and is nicer than this thing in every way.
No wireless CarPlay?
What a handsome crossover. I’m old school and prefer a full size sedan like the Avalon or Impala but I would consider this refreshed Escape. Very masculine! 👍🏻
I’m glad you pointed out the esthetic similarities to Mecan. I’ve always thought the same! 😂
hello, how are the full led headlights on night? I'm coming from a focus with matrix LED and for me this static LED would be a downgrade.. :(
I'm not ready yet for a new(er) car as I'm happy with my 16 Fusion Titanium but hopefully they don't decide to cancel this in 2025 as was announced, and I can get a close to spec as shown pre-owned with low miles when time comes.
I personally would pay an extra $5500 dollars for a 1.1 naturally aspirated duratec 3 cylinder 84hp and with a reduced power train warranty just to have that engine in this escape.
I'm not a loyalist but Ford knows what the f they're doing I will say that ever since I had an escort manual stick station wagon that was fun as F to drive
Have a 2020 Titanium, wife's car, and 2022 SEL my car. Nothing but good to say about both only exception is road noise. Previously had two Ford edges which is a great road car noise wise but not so great visibility wise. Edge has large pillars and so far away from from window have to half climb one dash to clean windows inside, I'm 6'1". Went to Escape better visibility, easier to park as I age. If they were just better insulated or whatever for road noise would be a happy camper.
You know what?? I like all models from Ford, even one SUV like that.
10:14 wonder if those creaks could be alleviated with baby powder, this is what I had to do with my 2013 cmax, the rubber door seals were super creaky until I treated them this way for about a month, then silent for the last 10 years.
Hey there, I noticed @ 14:40 you were using Apple Carplay to do a sound quality test for the speakers. Over time, I've noticed a decrease in sound quality whenever using both wireless carplay and wired carplay. I do not know what it's all about but I though i'd just let you know. Great review by the way, I love how you went in depth about everything I had questions about.
Wow I am very very very impressed not lie in can I trade in my crv 2022 for this oh my ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
why did they get rid of the 2 best colours - Atlas blue metallic and cinnabar red
Shoutout from Southfield!
I'm on Southfield also
Best test drives on RUclips!
Love music test speaker
Climate controls on the display? Really Ford?
Can you cover your stuff in the trunk or does not have a cover?
This crap is 43k? Dealer will sell it for 46 😂
well done with the edifying the viewer. very nyce!
The major problem is that the Sportage, Tucson, and CX-50 make this vehicle completely irrelevant.
They absolutely do not. I'm sitting here day over day trying to compute what my budget can afford. If you want something with decent to above average leg room and cargo space that actually gets out of it's own way, this Escape is fine. If you want something larger with more leg and cargo room you roll with the Sportage, Tucson, or CRV. Even at that you'd need to buy the hybrids to have trims that actually move since the gas ones are god awful slow. I can see a case for the CX-5 not the CX-50. None of these cars with full tech packages are under $40,000. So if people have issues with this being $43000 then there's not much else people will be buying.
@@invictusf5790 There are definitely choices out there that could be worse. The refresh along with the ST Line package certainly makes it look quite decent. Interior is also slightly improved but remains outdated. The turbo may offer some good acceleration, but it’s also more problematic over the long term. It should definitely be a lease only vehicle.
Do you like the bigger or smaller screen ?
Who is buying this garbage. Especially at over 40k. People are nuts
Sun roof creaks already? Bahahahahahahaha
lol 43 grand for an Escape. What a joke. I can think of at least a dozen vehicles that are better for that price.
Name even six that match features, cargo room, leg room, and power.
@@invictusf5790 you can get a Lexus NX250 for that same price and it’s far more reliable than a “Ford”
Rather have a base model RDX at a similar price
Some of us want all the tech options we can get without hitting $60,000. Only other car you can achieve that with is Hyundai and I bet you'd prefer this Ford over Hyundai?
@@invictusf5790 no, I’d prefer the RDX as I said. Rather have a quality car with a decent driving experience than a throwaway econobox with extra “tech” features
Rdx is much more expensive
How tall are you, so I can get an idea of leg and head room.
5’10
This is a vid on 2024 escape?
Wow this shit is goood
tthese new escapes are freaking spectacular
No cooling seats?
How is it supposed to be a sport trim with no paddle shifters? I mean I know it's a GM designed transmission and probably won't hold up, but would rather have the option to test that theory!
The 8-speed transmission has been very reliable along with the 6-speed that was co-developed with general motors nearly 10 years ago at this point.
L car L price
so uh 2023 or 2024?
40k 😂
Gotta say, I’ve been a die hard Ford guy for the entirety of my life, but I feel sorry for the sob that ends up buying one of these. Especially new, good Lord 🤣
You should get the 2023 Ford Edge ST
Maybe cool and all, powerful, not much roomier than the Escape ST Line Elite. Edge is wider that's it, same leg room etc. But, the Edge ST is priced in an alternate reality. These guys crying about the price of this Escape but the Edge being damn near the same SUV but $15,000 more is corny.
Not impressed with the amount of road noise. So many better vehicles in this segment.
Get back to me with your list of cars that are better. I'm looking to buy one. So far, the best mix of price, power, cargo, and leg room seems to be the CX-5 and this Escape.
Do the back seat windows not go all the way down? I saw in the video they might have stopped short of it.
No sirven para nada
Who?
No cd player? And wheres the spedometer?
They left the cd player back in 2004 where it belongs.
As for the speedometer it's right where it should be however the Escape has several different screen settings you can choose from to make the odometer look either traditional or digital.
CD player in 2024 🤣🤣
Insane price. For about the same price (in 2018), I bought a BMW 330 X-Drive wagon with plenty of options.
I know the market has changed since 2018, but $43k is f-ing insane for a 2.0L Ford Escape.
Agreed, its laughable
Cool story bro. I don't see a 330 wagon on BMW's website, and the sedan retails for $12k more than the Escape in this video.
What
BMW is 14 grand more and a 2 l . turbo maybe better handling but not much more😢
@@ontarioman6301 It's enough
Love the content hero
So many people are buying expensive ass cars nowadays and have no idea they are being scammed. Get a used car and stop spending $700 plus a month on a damn lease!
Clunky engine, jerky transmission, lacking storage space, fog lights, roof rack - very scaled back and cheaper overall than my 2018 Escape !
Stick with Japanese for best value
I will stick with Ford 😊
I support American made
Maybe I’m seeing things, but did you see how that thing of plastic moved when he pressed it for the auto start stop? That looks horrible
That's because it's just one large button
It’s supposed to - it’s one solid unit that has capacitive reactions on each “virtual button”
43k for this Elite.. you can get a base Cadillac XT4 for 39k and at 43 you can have some decent options. What the hell is Ford thinking
The 2024 Platinum trim Escape which is the highest level trim before you get to the plug in hybrid, isn't even 40k at the moment, it is just under 37,000 so you are incorrect there.
@@seraphx26 The ST Line Elite is above the Platinum. Even still it starts at $38000.
Who is buying these cars?
if you have a tight buget you're buying this car because no other car in the market it's giving you B&O which sounds awesome, HUD, ACC, heated back seats, electric tailgate, nice driving sensation :)
All the NPCs
People that are looking for feature rich and technologically advanced cars without paying $60000 for them. Not hard to fathom.
I’m getting mine this week. I have a 2016 Escape now and love it!
Smart people who don't need to spend almost 6 figures for a vehicle they don't need.
What is that clear plastic thing that popped out and stays out from the dashboard, and what is the purpose???
Did you watch the video?

@@whitetrashmillionare4858it’s the Head Up Display. According to Ford, “The system displays information on a display screen in your field of vision, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road. You can select which information the system displays including speed, navigation and road signs on a display that is projected to overlay the view ahead.”
You can disable the Head Up Display in the vehicle’s settings.
Looks almost identical to the Kuga
Yeah… that’s because it IS identical! Same car, but tailored to different markets
This is a nice $25,000 vehicle. Oh wait...
I don’t think you can buy a brand new car anywhere for $25k with the exception of a base model Toyota Corolla
@@BrianWaller-qe7gr Mazda 3, Corolla Cross, Civic, Kona, Elantra, Impreza, Trailblazer, Forte, Rio, Crosstrek, HRV, etc. Yes they will be lower trim levels, but they will also be way less than this pile of junk.

I wouldn't drive any of the cars you listed either tbh lol.
@@seraphx26 so you would drive this piece of crap but none of the other vehicles listed? Man, you really must not be familiar with cars or reliability ratings.

I just had the .. unfortunate situation of having a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport as my rental vehicle for almost two full weeks. And my lord was that car an absolute hunk of crap! Just the overall feel of the car and the way it drove felt like a $15-20k car at best. The styling cues are 100% geared towards young adults and teenagers who would know nothing about what a good quality value car should feel like (ie Accords, Camry, etc). I don't see how Ford keeps getting away with these platforms lol... like genuinely who on earth is buying these low quality cars for these prices? Mind you the MSRP on my 21' Bronco Sport rental was a whopping like $31k...!
Couldn’t pay me enough to live in Michigan. Looks boring and miserable:
It’s a Ford….guaranteed problems!
Honestly not a bad little package.
39k for an escape 😂
Wait until we show you the $60k Lincoln Corsair 😄
