    You can get the ST line with AWD and the 2.0 turbo for about 36K. Not a bad price for a vehicle that can do 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds.

    Great Review Ben, the Ford Escape ST-Line Select 2.0L AWD with Tech Pack #2 is incredibly fast, has a nice sport tuned suspension, beautiful screens, 360 camera, amazing 10 speaker B&O sound system. My wife absolutely LOVES this car! We looked at much more expensive cars, but this model had it all. The Elite model adds a lot of cost but not much value.

    Power in this SUV is a major plus. Very fast. Steering is very firm which is great. Suspension is a bit stiff though. However, at least $4K overpriced.

    Nice Escape, but overpriced by at least $3,000. Escape offers good value in $35,000 range, but not so much at $43,000.

    Bonus points for the twin exhaust pipes. I support any measure which evades the EV no pipes look. Thank you Ford. FoMoCo's most damaging failure is the glaring absence of driver controlled gear shifting of any kind. Ford has abandoned the console mounted shift lever as well as the shift paddles; thus eliminating a driver's ability to change gears on his/her own. The ST model of the Escape is supposedly the sportiest of all versions. This contradiction alone is enough to send me to Mazda for a sporty CUV.

      @@taniabanes4707And you’re irritating the majority of the car community in America by being a bigoted idiot that likes their own comments. The Big 3 has been producing overpriced, low quality cars for decades now. The US domestic market has been the laughingstock of the world for decades - and our comparatively poor export sales per capita prove that - because of the high price/low quality vehicles people like you blindly buy solely based on where they are assembled. Do you know how much of the average “American” car is made up of “American made” parts? Just under 50%. Most foreign manufacturers manage to keep their domestic averages over 75%, and are close to 50% US made on their North American exports that are assembled here. In laymens terms the Japanese (as one example) make better “American” cars than American companies do. The ONLY way you get the Big 3 to make better cars for less markup is by NOT buying their crap. Your mentality is the exact reason that has enabled them to decline in quality while increasing in price over so many years. You are what makes your beloved domestic brands the trash that they are in todays world.

    ST does mean Street & Track though this is not a sports car its just an appearance package on a commuter car its not like the Dodge Charger/Challenger RT/ST's of the 60s and early 70s my uncle Dan's wife Stephanie used to drive a 2016 Focus ST she now drives an Escape crossover uncle Dan's always been a Ford guy he drove a couple of used Lincoln Continental Mark 7s when I was a kid late 80s to mid 90s yeah we do know several other people that drive Ford products I.E. our next door Neighbor Jose drives an F 150 Pickup truck for work he's a Carpenter for a living. you can't exactly haul 6ft by 8ft plywood in the back of a regular sedan such as a Chevrolet Malibu/Toyota Camry so a pickup truck is necessary. also in the last 19 model years alone the F series has averaged 730,000 units sold per year where as over that same time period the Toyota Camry averaged 375,150 units per year in the US as the top selling mid size sedan in the country

      Mazdas, Toyotas and Hondas are ugly and foreign, no way

    • @TheDiameter
      @TheDiameter 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@taniabanes4707well being “ugly” is pretty subjective. Strangely, every major automotive reviewer on the planet praises Mazda for its elegant design so you’re likely in the very small minority there. If you actually like modern American cars your taste is pretty bad to begin with so I won’t bother arguing on that point.
      But to the actual point about being “foreign” being a Japanese designed, manufactured, and assembled car puts it head and shoulders above ANY American made vehicle in the last 30 years. The Big 3 haven’t been known for good QC in decades and they’re interiors are some of the most dated, ipad centric garbage on the market. There is a good reason why US cars sell so poorly outside of North America… it’s because Asia and the EU do it substantially better.

      @@TheDiameter They don’t do better, simply over there people are smart enough to buy their domestic products, it’s the case in every car manufacturing country, people don’t act like kids wanting the next toy but know buying domestic is good for their economies therefore for themselves… it’s not a question or good or bad, dare telling French or Italian cars are good but nonetheless it’s what those people buy. People like you represent everything wrong in this country… seriously you should move abroad, you won’t be missed, America love it or leave it, it goes for our cars too, so pack your stuff and so long, send postcards from Kyoto,
