Like, no joke. I rewatched some of them a couple of months ago and my reaction was like, "Wait, uploaded 5 years ago? That can't possibly be right, can it? ...holy shit, it is... WHERE THE FUCK DID THE YEARS GO?!"
I mean... it may well have, as it did demonstrate there was a demand for that kind of game which may have inspired Capcom to do the collections and, by extension, Megaman 11.
@@PepeMetallero I didn't have or want an xbox one at the time, but when I saw KI announced, I was beginning to change my mind. I loved KI, and it was a great time for me because Smash 4 was also revealed so it was a win-win for me. The problem is I didnt get an xboxone until much later, but when I got my xbone at a pawnshop, KI was the game I got with it! It was great!
Started watching you in March of 2013. I remember you making a real talk video about killer instinct. Then the reveal happened and started coming to the streams, became the 2nd ever sub, and loved your content. Thanks for all the years of awesome. Not gonna lie, I was really jealous you were so close to the KI devs and behind the scenes. I still get really bummed out I couldn't contribute and get my name in the credits. Either way, can't wait for the future of KI and your content!
I wasn't a traditional FG player, still am not one that much. But seeing Max and Simmons reacting to Megaman got me introduced to the channel and I've followed since
I've seen some Assist Me vids back in the day, but they never really grabbed me, because I wasn't into MvC3. Max's reaction to KI tho. That really got me intrigued, since it was super genuine. I started watching his Injustice vids, KI vids and have been subbed ever since. Thank you hype man for the amazing content. I discovered my love for 3rd Strike thanks to you
I want to sincerely thank you Max. Thanks to you and your love/coverage of Killer Instinct I got into the FGC in 2014 and discovered my love for fighting games!! I’ve met some awesome friends along the way thanks to Killer Instinct and you!!
First year I'm really all that familiar with. I didn't find this channel until 2014, but I've watched plenty of videos from this year. Crazy to think about how much Max history I've missed because of how damn late I am. Still great shit.
Im in love with this series. Reliving the years all over and getting in depth behind the scenes. I was there since marvel 3, so this is nostalgia for me aswell.
Wow... it feels like just yesterday when I subscribed to your channel, and I can’t remember what grabbed me first between Yo Videogames look into Dive Kick, or the Third Strike series... but watching this nostalgia footage and realizing I’ve been following/supporting you for 8 years now is such a mind job man! I can’t believe how fast it all went, but it’s been so great to have your videos throughout the years. Thank you all for so many years of hype and hilarity-you guys are the best.
I still remember watching all your episodes from those years. I was like whoa this guy loves fighting games let’s go and you been making video game videos that make you want to keep on playing on more. You are the messiah of fighting games lol much love to everything you do because you are a great person with a great personality to capture any audience you desired. You are the man Max
Thanks for all of your dedication to KI in 2013. I had just started college and I remember racing to find the nearest table to watch your videos after class.
Did anyone else just realize they’re excitedly waiting to watch Max’s reaction to Max’s reaction to Cloud in Smash? I think the Twilight Zone just looped itself.
I will never forget the day I found that KI Dynamic Music video. I started watching Max's videos after that and since then I've been having so much fun!
KI is was what brought me to Max. I think he was commentating a tourney I wanna say at Combo Breaker during the KI Cup I forget what year but it was when they announced Rash (I could be way wrong though). His excitement was contagious and it pulled me into the FGC
I started following your channel because of the KI videos you were doing. I was also there on your very first livestream on twitch. Where I was able to contribute helping you get your Hauppauge capture device on stream while playing Rogue squadron for gamecube. Your content keep getting better and better each year. Keep up the great quality work and shine on, dood.
6:05- This was my favorite all-time moment from Max. Just that delivery and how nowadays, we can literally apply that to most game companies that prioritize profit over quality. That and Benny is adorable and the outtake was just as good too. ^__^
The first vid i watched was the KI reveal for Xbone,a friend sent me the video and i was like "who is this guy,is he crying because we finally get a new KI or because it is on Xbone?" then youtube recommendations actually worked for once by picking Max's KI videos and here we are, cant believe its been 7 years already damn
So I'm pretty sure I found Max sometime in 2012 because of Assist Me and learning UMvC3 but 2013 I became a fan and subscribed. What an amazing year for fighting games. Shine On!
Growing up as a teen in the 90s was amazing. I still remember walking into my local arcade (fun&games) and immediately hearing the intro to Killer Instinct blasting out of the Cabinet. Everything abt the game was done with style. The Music awesome, Combo system awesome, and characters design and Graphics were amazing. I'm still playing the OG KI on Mame and only dream of them remaking it with UE5. Combine 1 & 2 with MK style Graphics and I would play that game into my 60s. KI had such a shockwave after its release that many games took something from it in one way or another.
Donnie Darko right? I can’t believe it’s been 7 since years since that game out. This console generation just flew by. I still can’t believe we are getting the new consoles this year
It's crazy to see how a video just uploaded a few hours ago has the same views as a life-time video of yours back in 2013! Talk about increasing your Community - you're amazing Max!
Asura's Wrath Boss Rage is the reason I subbed to this channel and stayed. Boss Rage is an awesome series and so damn relatable, I had broken many controllers trying to beat games on the hardest difficulties.
Hi Max. This. Is around the time I first started watching your channel. You coverage of KI is what drew me. I really loved your Assist Me on KI and that made me a fan. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos.
I actually started watching you when MKX came out. I was looking for some story mode content in RUclips and lo and behold here I am in this magical place
2013 was the year of Simmons, not only for Doom, I think it was when he started doing the Iwata impression, and of course, the legendary "Benny, my nigga!"
This is the year I found out about you dude. Was looking for more KI content and news after the reveal and you delivered. Hope microsoft coughs up the money for a new KI soon. Love your decade in review series.
Shoot... I found Max a year ago (maybe?) because of his Final Fantasy VII New Threat Run. I don't even PLAY fighting games (not since like... Capcom vs SNK 2) and I still love his content. Watched his WHOLE Bloodborne run and it inspired me to buy the whole bloodsouls series + Nioh.
for me boss rage was the thing that bring me to your channel at first with the asuras wrath one thanks to you i started to enjoy fighting games even more than before thank you for making content dood
So wait Max worked on stuff like the spinal and fulgore trailers? Because those were fucking awesome and I'm just picturing Max geeking out while making the fulgore one
UMvC3 had exactly one patch and one of the only things done was they removed Phoenix Wright invulnerability from his assist if he's in Turnabout mode ... which was a thing they specifically pushed about him and how he could be tournament viable.
Y'know, it feels like I've been watching Max since the start which I know isn't true. I can't remember where I began; It just feels like Max has always been part of my viewing experience.

While Ill always miss assist me! it definitely makes sense to me now looking back at it why you ultimately ended up dropping it. That said your excitement and passion for KI that really stood out this year made me a fan of the series. My brother had an xbox one and I bought the combo breaker pack to play on his system and it was really a great time. Best off all was that my purchase transferred over to the pc and now I can play KI3 whenever I want which is good because I seriously considered picking up an xbox one purely for that game. Double helix did a great job on KI and Strider, I really miss them.
KI: "4" needs to have Zitz and Pimple (along with Rash)... but it can also have The Dark Queen (also from Battletoads) and Joanna Dark as the guest characters. That's not 'too many' non-traditional KI guests, but if they're going with the seasonal thing again, these are the five.
Btw @TopHatGamingMan did coverage of the original game in Arcades, and it's SNES counterpart in. KI was incredible. Loved the visuals, music, stages, characters, and special moves. It was a sweet surprise how well it did on home console release. And still thriving
Man those reveal reactions became such a stable on this channel. I remember the KI and Smash reactions like it was yesterday.
Like, no joke. I rewatched some of them a couple of months ago and my reaction was like, "Wait, uploaded 5 years ago? That can't possibly be right, can it? ...holy shit, it is... WHERE THE FUCK DID THE YEARS GO?!"

2020: Max's Legacy
I started watching max aftee his KI reveal reaction
Same here
Same
Same!

Same! That and the Megaman reaction were my first exposure to him
“The first thing I noticed about Scorpion is that his teleport is HELLA FAST!!!!”
LMAO 🤣
15:38 "Can Mighty Number 9 save Mega Man?"
Oh no...
I mean... it may well have, as it did demonstrate there was a demand for that kind of game which may have inspired Capcom to do the collections and, by extension, Megaman 11.
It was saved in the same way an anime fan on prom night was crying
Well, Mighty #9 made Capcom to actually resurrect the Megaman brand...
so Mighty #9 saved Megaman... in a way...
M9 died to bring back MM

I also got involved with the channel also by the Megaman react video, such joy seeing him happy for Megaman return.
I’m surprised he didn’t bring up his Melee EVO video. Every time someone brings up that moment in Melee history, they use Max’s video as b-roll.
