They sent my an email for “additional information required” right after my offer email to submit my name/ss number. The link doesn’t work. I emailed hr and idk what else to do
Did they ask for additional information like social and DOB? There process from my experience is first interview, second interview in person live, you'll get an offer, then questionnaire, back round check, then medical questionnaire/records. No they don't respond promptly. I applied in December 2021 and im only now in medical screening. Anyone paying attention to the train industry. Know a lot is going on..strike is set to start the 18th until Biden appoints a board. So he can let them strike until wall street gets mad enough or create the board so the union and the railroad can agree on negotiations.
@@derrekdillard2351 I've done multiple interviews with them and there interview questions are consistent. Why do you feel you're a fit, you're physical ability, working outside year round no matter weather conditions, are you okay with traveling or being away from home or family. And last was safety and how you make sure safety guidelines are met ppe, I feel safety is there number one concern. Overall pretty basic. Do you know how long traveling track laborer positions fill? Worked as a contractor for NS repairing a bridge in Jackson, AL. It’s tough to get in but worth trying. How about getting Professional Developmental Hours at a college that offers Railroad courses like UT-Knoxville offers in Chattanooga? Any suggestions to better my chances?
Hey, I just wanted to ask a quick question. So I got an email with my class date but I got this note on the side regarding my hire location: “Please note: due to union seniority rules and business needs, you should expect to work out of your hire location permanently. Transferring locations can be nonviable.” Am I 100% gonna be working out of my hire location? Does that mean that I have to relocate? Or would I be based at my hire location and would I just be working in other locations most of the time. Anything helps thanks!
Most likely just out of your hire location for now until unions can meet an agreement with company officials. But you'll still take trains to other locations but you'll still be based out of wherever your hire location is at. I hope that makes sense!
My profile was updated to 'awaiting start date' on November 1st. Patiently waiting, any information from you about your process would be greatly appreciated. Norfolk Southern
@@erics5496 my process from the time I applied to my start date was about 4 months. Just depends on how quick NS is really. It varies. Some people it happens very quickly and others it happens slowly. I think I was right in between.
So I got an email for my virtual interview and picked the 2 dates that worked best for me and they never sent the link afterwards. Is this a common occurrence? I sent an email to HR and never got a reply.
I did my background check for NS January 19th. The next day I got an email for me to sign some medical documents. Now it’s been over 5 days and I haven’t heard anything else from them. I know I’m hired because on my application status it says “Pending pre employment clearance.” Does anyone have a clue as to how long I might be waiting to start training?

I go in for my pre employment screening next week. I’m trying to get arrangements set up for while I’m down in GA. I live in KCMO and don’t have a vehicle I can take down there. Meaning, I will probably have to fly. How far is the hotel from the training center? Is it possible to find another person to car pool with?
They use multiple in the McDonough area. Generally they are 10-15 miles from the training center. About a half hour or so. I mean I never car pooled as I drove down myself so I'm not sure. However I'm sure you can. In each of the hotels they have there's usually 8-10 people from class

I didn't but I heard others have so it's hit or miss
