90% accuracy tests. This meant this guy fell into the 10% failure rate of each of the 4 tests, 4 times AND survived the infection AND managed not to infect his wife with the virus.
He and his wife won the lottery, the lottery of life.
no sir..that when covid19 first detect in wuhan,the first gen test kit was 30-40% accuracy in early development not enough testing before being used..a lot of foreign countries had to returned back the kit..now the newer kit was 90% accuracy.

At least if he was COVID-19 negative, he should be diagnosed with pneumonia and had a same right to be treated in hospital
I think normally he should stayed at the hospital, but the other patients or maby even medical staff could infect him. I am not really sure did Wuhan had any capacity to treat other patients without the coronavirus
Hospitals are full with corona virus patients. Maybe he had just normal flu and he could be caught corona virus in the hospital.

While for USA, using the exact same test kids, only test for one time per person and not even test all patients, letting thousands died at home...

I had most symptoms , but got negative result in May. As a medical staff I had antibody test last week, hope the antibody still lasts long enough to be detected
The most expensive test still only has 80% accuracy in the first place,and that is only detectable 80% all the time after symptoms show up, he isnt the only one around who was told to go back, it happens in every country

He is a classic example of asymptomatic infection.
Actually not exactly, he mentioned he was sick and went to get tested in case he had it but as time was passing his illness was not going away. That's more of a sign of a test that doesn't work properly.

that is not the case, asymptomatic means,absence of symptoms, he said he felt sick and have difficulty of breathing. it could be his wife was able to build antibody as day goes by ,by having an exposure day by day..that is possible theoretically.
At 1:03 He said was was kneeling at the side of his bed and holding his head, not his wife.
There were cases of having up to 7 negative tests whilst the 8th confirmed it

That happened in Indonesia too. There was one guy that face 11 test, the results were always change from positive to negative and it made the medis staff confused. He will be tested again for the 12th times. If negative, he won't be claimed as a coronavirus patient. But the problem is, if the test was negative, he has to pay the tests for about 780 dollars. Who have that much money in this situation? Except if he's a rich guy.

the coronavirus outbreak in China was of a strain less deadly and less infectious, otherwise his problem would be worse.
Just take note on the personal responsibilities shown in this video, he looked more protected than many of the nurses and doctors in New York. wear a mask when you go out regardless if you're sick or not, it can save lives.

There are weird symptoms like loss of smell, nausea even rashes reported, not just in China but Globally.
Some patients respond to traditional treatments but some don’t.
Some get hit badly, fatally and some are Asymptomatic throughout and recover.
Indeed. Different form Chines patient earlier, in Europe, people with a-symptom is more than 30%, In Ijsland, it is 50%. Not sure if they will be tested negative or not.

Because of the crisis, we are paranoid and think that any body pain is related to COVID. But we can still get sick from other diseases and must still seek medical help. Sadly non-covid patients are not the priority anymore, they might even contract covid if they visit the hospital..
I am worried of the false negative but what caught my ear more than anything was the fact the man said his Dr. has told him he has no cancer or tumors.Why would they be checking him for that after the virus?HHMM.Or was this what they suspected because of the breathing problems.
Unfortunately, it's not the test kit that's faulty. The results may show negative even if positive. However the sample on most test require 3000 copies of the virus per sample.

So, 90% test kit accuracy, and 4 tests all negative.
He only got 10% chance of tested false-negative for each test.
So it's 10%*10%*10%*10%... basically the chance is only about 0.01%, if the testing kits' accuracy holds.
Is either this dude been extremely unlucky or maybe the test kits are not accurate enough?
It is still 10% not 0.01%. Every testing is an independent event.

@@TheChenchen Statistically, parameters are estimated based on sample not "population". In this case, "some" is the sample. 90% is the parameter. plz educate yourself before arguing the number.

Faulty Testing Done.
That goes with other countries too. At least he was tested few times whereas other countries most of the time one test only.
It's not called faulty testing. It's not like they wanted to lie to him about being positive. Test kits are only at around 80 percent accuracy and he just got unlucky a few times.
He could have died at home. I wonder about the sensitivity and specificity rates of their PCR test. What are the chances of a false negative?

There bound to be some odd cases. My son tested 4 times negative (over 5 days) for dengue while having very high fever. After 6th day rashes appeared. According to doctor, this was already recovering stage.

All of the covid testing kits do. It's a relatively new strain of a virus so kits only have around 80-90 percent accuracy at best
