Three hours sounds like a dream. 7 1/2 hours for me today to drive from Bridger Valley Wyoming to Ogden, five initiatories, back toward home and a stop at Walmart in Evanston for a half hour. I always plan on 7 - 8 hours to go to the temple for initiatory and 8 - 9 for an endowment. And I still count it as a blessing🧡😂😭
He is lying Ephraim is not the birthright tribe the whole nation of Israel is he's lying because when God says Ephraim he's talking about Israel and it's not 10 tribes it's 9
You asked us to respond if we listened to the entire episode and I am here to tell you I listen to every episode all the way through. I am so thankful you do this. It is a blessing in my life. My wife and I are serving as MLS missionaries in Kobe Japan mission. So we are listening half way around the world. The guests you have are wonderful. Again, thank you for your knowledge, inspiration, and efforts.
I am so grateful for modern technology that we can do things like this and sit at the feet of great teachers from anywhere. Bless you for what you are doing! You are perfecting the saints!
I have listened to every word of every episode since your Old Testament sessions. I can’t thank you enough for your time and expertise and all the amazing guests you provide. It’s just impossible to describe the blessing your podcast is to my life.
I appreciate your wonderful and clear teachings delivered every week. You have helped me greatly in my book of Mormon study. Please receive my gratitude for the time to prepare every lesson. You are loved too.
I enjoyed this podcast so much. I own John Bytheway’s Isaiah book. I loved it and went through with my mother in her 90’s! What a great way to tiptoe into this book. I was an Elementary School teacher and taught school with Terry Ball’s wife. I dove in knowing I could send questions to him. He shared a characteristic of those who love Isaiah. True Humility. After even a limited skill I have been humbled again with you testimonies. I’m a little retired school and have been giving hours of study with you young men to the scriptures and never sorry in the time spent. As a teacher, I know you are never compensated in monetarily means. I taught struggling readers how to put in in the practice to rea. What you do is far more eternally purposeful in my goal to grow closer to my Savior. Thank you! I have new favorites as I attached my notes of your discussions on the podcast. “Thank you” seems small but I will be eternally grateful. Sincerely, Patti
I went the distance and am still going! We as a family love your podcast. I listen weekly and share what I learned when studying as a family. Very uplifting and spiritual way to add to my personal scripture study. Thank you from Washington
What a rewarding podcast. So grateful for the insights shared that help me to understand Isaiah. I have learned more today than any other resource. Thank you Shon, Hank and John
I made it through!!! I just started listening a month or so ago, but I am trying to catch up on what I've missed from this year. I am in Pocatello Idaho!! I want to thank Hank, John and all of the wonderful guests and the staff. I have had a hard time getting time to study the scriptures as regularly as I should or as I want to. I drive a lot and over the last few months I have found my testimony strengthened beyond measure because of all of the study I get to participate in through the podcast. I love how John talked about how sitting around and exploring the scriptures and talking about then was fun. You are my kind of person. Thank you for your testimonies and the love you have and share for our Father in Heaven and our Savior and the plan of salvation.
I like to think that going to church is like having our armor cleaned up and polished, but going to the temple is like having our armor "made new" again. If we go often, our Armor of God never has a chance to get too worn at all, just like the interior of the temple always looks "brand new" too.
I went the distance twice Hank!!! I love your podcast. I listen once, then I listen again with my book open and take notes! Thank you for this please never stop!
"...Many people slog their way though Isaiah... They have that one verse that makes sense to them and they always look for that verse and get really excited about that one verse." It's like he can see into my soul lol. This is comforting that I'm not alone haha
Let’s also not forget that the work done in temples isn’t just what we can get out of it, and who we become from going, but think of all of the millions of spirits we are serving and allowing to progress on their spiritual journey!
Better late than never, I finished up this episode! Thank you so much for all the great insights! I'm an American writing to you from Berlin, Germany. We attend the Berlin Ward English, a wonderful, thriving ward in the heart of Berlin.
It’s so important to note what Jesus said “you are the temple of God“ because the physical temples we build to worship God, and are merely symbolic of the real temple, which is within us, where God dwell. If we don’t understand this, then we miss the fact that after the millennium is over, and the final battle with Satan, Jesus said there will be no sun or temple because he will be the light and the only temple we will ever need.
These podcast have opened my eyes and my mind to the scriptures in a way that a few years ago I would have never thought was possible. I listen to each podcast at least 2 or 3 times as there is so much in them, that I want to take in as much as I can. I feel so blessed to have all the many resources that are available today, which with the spirit as my guide, have helped me get to know my Saviour better, because I am step by step understanding the scriptures better :)
I love it when I study the lesson and then listen to your show, and your guests interpret some of the scriptures the same way I do! Which happened today with Joseph Smith being an example of the child, the weak, simple thing that leads and rules. Not that I don't learn tons, but it's nice to know I can learn some of this stuff by myself.
I went the distance twice. First listened and second time read the transcript so I could go more slowly. 😂😂😂. Thanks to all of you for sharing your love of the Savior and your testimonies. I feel richly blessed.
Dr. Hopkins, I loved you first example about the simplicity/complexity of Isaiah. Last week end my 7-year-old grandson, who studies trumpet and not piano, played on the piano a medley he had put together of five songs: Mary Had a little Lamb, Sunny Day, Hot Cross Buns, Heart and Soul, and Für Elise. All the notes were right, and all five tunes had precisely the same dynamics (or lack thereof)
Yes, I remember how excited my husband and I were in 1973 when the Washington DC temple was dedicated and we only had a 16 Hour drive to the temple! We are both converts how we love the temple!
Made it to the end! Went the distance! I love you guys you are awesome! I am going to listen to it again. I learned so much I need to make notes now! Thank you for what you do you’re the best! And I love your guests. They are fantastic.
Love these teachers I had to rewind a ton I wish you could talk slower for the elementary learner lije’ myself It was a Amazing and incredible experience
Love your podcast and some times l listen to them actually twice. I have a lot of Bytheways books And l am serving in the Chicago Illinois Mission right now and love the temples
I asked for a blessing from the missionaries because I had been hit in the neck from a flying canopy. He blessed me and gave comfort for things that had been troubling me that he was not aware of testifying to me that he was a vessel of God.
The reason why Hank and John are so great is because they are KIND AND REWIND the crucial parts of understanding Isaiah. Some of the best professors that taught me were not afraid to be KIND AND REWIND. I would like to also add the phrase of NEAT AND REPEAT!
I really enjoy this podcast and listen to it regularly. I might make one suggestion. When Shon was giving the quick timeline it would be nice to have a visual so I can hear it and also see it. To have some of the scriptures posted on the screen is also helpful for me. Thank you for your study and for sharing it with us. Loved the comment, "You saw the movie, now read the book." :)
After my husband passed I went on a mission to the Family History Library in Salt Lake and my Mission President quoted 2 Nephi 12 :2 to us and said that we will have people come from all over the world looking to find there Ancestors. I have never forgotten that.
Omg gosh, my brain 🧠 s burning lol, somethings over this chapters is so hard to understand, I can say I am one tiny hair more educated over Isais. I am glad I found you guys. I want to launch a podcast in Portuguese, so my people back in Brazil could have the opportunity to learn as much as I am. Please, help me out on this project?? I have no idea how to do that. I feel like I have to contribute with something more than just leaning myself. Please. Thank you. 🙏🏻
I think the use of "Prostitutes" is the opposite of holding on to the covenant... the depth if feeling of leaving The Lord... as in marriage the bride... we are the bride .. we prostitute the covenant by our infidelity to Him who is our Lord. I love how prophetic words have so much depth. ❤
Such great info. I think I need to go find some visuals for this type of stuff to help me more. Isaiah is still a bit confusing. Getting easier but I still have so much to learn. Thx for sharing your knowledge!
Hey John Bytheway... why didn't you share your "map" of those historical events to help us make sense of the Isaiah historical timeline. I'd love to see that map you made. :) I absolutely love the podcast and that you guys make everything available for those who seek it without paying a bunch of money. We just need to seek after it and you guys graciously provide it! Thank you very much!!!
Just a minor correction to Brother, Hopkin. Für Elise starts out somewhat simply, but the ensuing sections are quite difficult. You would need to be at least an intermediate pianist to tackle the entire piece accurately. Maybe that ties into your metaphor/simile to Isaiah. As a reference point, it is placed in Suzuki Book 5. Für Elise is actually quite advanced in the ensuing sections for you music enthusiasts 😊
I love this podcast but since there was a reference to the Utah Jazz I need to say that I was rooting against them when they lost to MJ in back to back NBA Finals! Lol
Anyone know where I can find the two quotes John mentions at 2:06 that he gives his students? One is by Elder Bednar and the other by Ezra Taft Benson. I'm not having any luck on the Church website. Thank you!
I love your podcasts but I have to make a correction to your introductions. You say that your guests name is "Dr. Shon D. Hopkins" "Dr." is a title, not part of his name.
Great reminder of how blessed we are to have a temple 1 block away. I need to be better.
Ephraim was the main tribe in the northern kingdom then . But now Ephraim is in America ??
He is lying Ephraim is not the birthright tribe the whole nation of Israel is he's lying because when God says Ephraim he's talking about Israel and it's not 10 tribes it's 9

Thank you for making Isaiah understandable.
Brother Millet is the best! He is a humble and sincere teacher of Christ!!
Thanks, I'm starting to like the Isaiah chapters ❤
Love Isaiah For Airheads! I now love studying Isaiah because of that book! Sooo good!
Went the distance and loved every minute of it!
I went the distance and am still going! We as a family love your podcast. I listen weekly and share what I learned when studying as a family. Very uplifting and spiritual way to add to my personal scripture study. Thank you from Washington
Insightful guest scholars and hosts. always learn something new. Hosts humble, humorous (without treating others or sacred things), and faithful. Excellent

Hi, I'm listening from New Zealand. What a difference your podcast makes for studying these chapters. Now it makes so much sense. Thank you.

Isaiah is making me listen to all the podcast about him. 🎉
Thank you so much, I want to simplify so that I can write a letter to my daughter about Isaiah: this has made it possible.

Thanks for mentioning the symbolism of the Provo temple! It deserves the attention as it has been such a big part of the work in this area.
We made it to the end and wanted more. Loved this episode
I went the distance-thanks guys!!

Thank you for your study and for sharing it with us.
Loved the comment,
"You saw the movie, now read the book." :)
If you want a great visual and full explanation of Isaiah, Look at Rhonda Pickering's Isaiah Book.
“Ryan Smith is your listening WE BELIEVE”😂
I laughed so hard…and I shouted Amen! 🙏

Oh, and I LOVE the podcast. Keep up the great work. ❤
I wish I could go baby to school to learn more … these guys has so much education background … I would need to be borne again to start over.
I made it through! And boy it was great!

John please share your cheat sheet on the history! I need a chart too!
I went the distance!
I love this podcast but since there was a reference to the Utah Jazz I need to say that I was rooting against them when they lost to MJ in back to back NBA Finals! Lol
There is only one God, Isaiah 45: 7 I am the LORD and there is no other. There is none besides Me.
Just tried to order Isaiah for Airheads on Amazon and there aren't any available 😮
Anyone know where I can find the two quotes John mentions at 2:06 that he gives his students? One is by Elder Bednar and the other by Ezra Taft Benson. I'm not having any luck on the Church website. Thank you!
This is all very confusing to me, I would love to see John's chart..any chance that is on the show notes??
I love your podcasts but I have to make a correction to your introductions. You say that your guests name is "Dr. Shon D. Hopkins" "Dr." is a title, not part of his name.
I can't find the Follow Him Favorites for 2 Nephi 11-19. I see the one for the following week, but not this one. Does anyone have the link, please?

John, you squint a lot in the podcasts. Do your eyes hurt and do you need glasses?😢
