- Genesis 12, explained from a Biblical perspective. In this episode, Bible teacher, Tom Bradford, will be explaining how the Abrahamic covenant has nothing to do with the concept of covenant in our current western societies. Jesus speaks of how to gain ETERNAL life.
In book of revelation 22:12-15 said who wouldn’t be allowed through the gates - he ADDED people who break other commandments like being a sorcerer.
So JESUS DIDN’T say there are ONLY TWO COMMANDMENTS. HE said those two were the basis of all the commandments.

The ritual laws have little meaning but the Justice and Doing righteously to other people to Glorify and Thank God for His blessings COUNT FOR NOTHING if you Don’t Love God and are thankful for God given strength God given food and harvest and COUNT FOR NOTHING if you don’t really LOVE your neighbours and people AS YOURSELF.
Because if you DON’T REALLY have genuine LOVE for God and others.
You can do righteous things, take care of the poor and needy and your family. You can praise God for your continued Health BUT IT WON’T mean a thing OBVIOUSLY

When John the Baptist preached, he simply stated, repent for the kingdom of God/heaven is at hand. He did not give any detail to those he preached to exactly like you who thought they were the people of God when they were not, and like you, had everything wrong. The very same applies to Jesus when he also simply said, repent for the kingdom of heaven/God is at hand.
Additionally, when Jesus sent his disciples out, he simply told them to tell the blind, lost, and deceived jews who are exactly like you and all those in the church to repent. He did not tell them to go out and explain the Bible to them and pinpoint all their error. Telling someone to repent is to say, you have everything wrong, you are not what you think you are. You must throw out what you think you know because you know nothing, and you must start over.
What you being completely spiritually dead and blind fail to understand is, you do not have the ability to understand Biblical truth. So, explaining the truth of the Bible to you will mean nothing as you have already proven. You are told in Luke Ch. 16 that you already have the Bible (Moses and the Prophets) and if anyone cannot understand that (and you cannot) then even if one rose from the dead you will still not believe.
So, no matter how much actual Biblical truth is explained to you, you will only reject it and go right back to your wallowing in the mire. Repent, and learn what the truth, the gospel, and the Christianity of the Bible actually is.

Christ told the disciples in Matthew 24 - the only time He spoke very emphatically in that chapter...vs 4: MAKE SURE YOU AREN'T DECEIVED! That made an impression on me. He also told us to search for truth as though it were a lost coin of great value or a pearl. I lived with deception most of my life. I celebrated pagan holidays and thought that Christ's resurrection on First Fruits changed the Sabbath from the 7th to the 1st day. Tom Bradford helped me restructure my misunderstandings based on scripture only. I am very grateful for him.

I stand with Israel and have been blessed by Yehovah as a Gentile grafted into the house of Israel through Yeshua Messiah and now a son of Abraham through faith. I'm not interested in any denomination, I just want to know the truth of God's scriptures and who better to learn from than Yehovah's people. I've been done with the Christian world for quite some time now! I'm just a believer in Yehovah and his son Yeshua our savior and what we are commanded to do if we love him and that's to keep his Torah. Also to come as a little child to Yeshua and be born again. When we take off the corruptible and put on the incorruptible and this mortality and put on immortality is when we will truly be born again. Exactly! I’m a Jew (engrafted by the obedience of the Word of God). Let me add I’m still considered Pentecost according to denominations which I don’t really care for but it is what it is and I’m okay with that.
We're one in Yeshua!!! Read Ephesians 2:19-22 along with many other scriptures declaring that there's only one body of believers who are called to Yeshua Messiah.... Yeshua and all of the Apostles taught from the Tanakh (Old Testament) so if we don't have knowledge of the Tanakh then how can we understand the New Testament?

Thank you for the study. When God cut the covenant with Abraham and the animals were divided, usually both parties would walk between the carcasses and it would be saying may it be to me as to these animals if I break this covenant. The interesting thing is only God passes between the carcasses, so God took the responsibility in keeping his covenant. I see this in Yeshua, he kept God's covenant for me, was sacrificed for me, did what I could not do.

One element that I kept waiting for you to mention was the fact that God first PROVIDES where He will divide. Eve said of Seth, "God has given me a man". God Himself provided the miracle of life to Isaac. And of course, Jesus Christ is the provided LIFE where we are asked to choose-death or life. God provided for the sacrifice when Abraham and Isaac trusted Him with Isaac's life and the everlasting Abrahamic covenant hanged in the balance, too. Where Principalities would demand their worshippers' blood, God gave His own to those who trust in Him. Jehovah Jireh!

Also God' church has a covenant under God' grace. You add what is not said in Scripture. God promises to protect and favor him by others as he leaves behind his people and home. God will bless anyone that is faithful enough to follow Him. God loves all people and "does not wish that no one parish." God is only obligated to bless those who follow Him, even though he pours out His blessing on all of us when the moon and sun shine on us. When He made mankind in His image, but we must trust Him to get more.

The idea of the word shalom, does have a word/expression in old English - Wes Hal - or ‘be thou whole’. We get the word Wassail from it.

May I suggest, read the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation within their context, for they were not written in 21st century.
@@YeshuaKingMessiah I am not disputing that, yes believers in Christ are grafted in, the Son of God, who came of the seed of David according to flesh, Rom 1:3, in Rev 5:5, The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David; but what I don’t understand is how replacement theology comes in?
What or who was replaced, I don’t get it?
For in Rom 11:1-7, Paul asked, Has God cast away His people? And answered his own question, let it not be! For he, Paul, is an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin: God did not cast away His people whom He knew before; (many overlooked the following verses, and jumped to vs 26) Paul continues; have you not known what the Writing says about Elijah? How he pleads with God concerning Israel, saying, “LORD, they killed Your prophets, and torn down Your altars, and I am left alone, and they seek my life”;
But what was the divine reply? “I left to Myself 7000 men who did not bow a knee to Baal.”
Even so at this present time (in their time, not ours) there is a remnant according to the selection of grace; then he goes on to say, if by grace, no longer of works….
Vs 7, What then? What Israel seeks after it did not obtain, and the chosen obtained, and the rest were hardened, ok, who are the chosen?
The remnant of course, and who are the rest who were hardened? Unbelieving Israelites, those who rejected the Messiah were hardened.
My take, God did not cast away His people, the remnant represented all Israel, as in Rom 11:26, and so all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “There will come out of Zion the Deliverer, and will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; and this is My covenant to them, when I will take away their sins.” See Rev 14:1-5; Isa 1:9-repeated in Rom 9:29; Isa 10: 20-23, Isa 55:3, Isa 59: 20-21, Jer 31:33-34, Joel 2:32, Heb 8:10-12, and more.

If your answer is, No, it’s not fulfilled, and is in the future; then you are still in your sins, and you are not saved, cause it means, the new covenant hadn’t taken effect.
It was fulfilled, how do I know? Because old Mt Sinai covenant became obsolete as in Heb 8:13, it was vanishing away in Apostles, at the destruction of old Jerusalem and its temple, to fulfill all that is written, Luke 21: 20-23, also see, Luke 19:41-44, see Luke 24:44.
The destruction of Jerusalem’s temple is a sign showing the end of that age, which is called, “this age”, in NT, end of temple worship, animals sacrifices, end of Levitical priesthood etc; cause no temple.

There's nothing unorthodox here but I don't see the point in keeping Hebrew words in for some things and not others. The English words are perfectly ok, as this pastor prives by using them interchangeably. If you are going to use Hebrew then go ahead and quote the whole thing in Hebrew. This business of mixing in Hebrew words is a bit pretentious really, it reminds me of what the Muslims do swapping in and out of Arabic the whole time.

Some of the poetic books are not part of the class and in the New testament a few of the very short Epistles are not yet covered, but other than that Torah Class is a 100% complete word for word, verse by verse reading and teaching, often from several versions at once.
All that said I do agree that personal scripture reading is highly important. Not just for informational edification, but also for intimate time spent with God.

I get how you may come to this impression from this video alone, but just clarify, Torah Class is a complete verse by verse study of both the old and new testaments, minus a few books like the poetics. For example, this is a small snippet of something found in chapter 12 of Genesis, but the entire study of Genesis is actually about 45 HOURS long and covers every single word of it.
Also the concept of covenants in general and this specific covenant are expounded upon in further lessons. It's worth exploring in its entirety, not just a single class.

You said "y'all" so let me start by saying I'm not affiliated with Torah Class or Seed of Abraham Ministries. They're based out of Florida, I live in NY and I've never even spoken to anyone from SoAM so I definitely don't have THAT kind of skin in the game. I've just been using their materials for a few months. To the question about expounding on God's word until it's been rendered unbiblical, I'll just say that this small portion of teaching from Gen 12 may not be the best example to people quickly gleaning the material, but yes, Tom does provide personal opinion at times, BUT makes it clear when something is his opinion and written proof or a decisive answer does not necessarily exist or he's at least not aware of it. Tom also lets you know when he's citing or paraphrasing commentary such as Talmud, which of course is understood to NOT be inerrant scripture, but merely ancient commentary by people that are as fallible as any other human being. This is merely given usually as one of many perspectives and possibilities, definitely never as rock hard doctrine.
I hope this answer helps soften your patience a bit and please understand that right in Torah Class Genesis Lesson 1 Intro Tom makes it clear that he generally doesn't do "topical" studies (especially in a 45ish minute time frame, which is rarely enough time), BUT sometimes the content does beckon a brief topical study "break-off" from the otherwise mostly linear verse by verse study, which this particular video seems to be doing.
For reference, the start of the study of Genesis chapter 12 all the way through to the start of chapter 13 actually encompasses roughly 3 times the amount of content found in this one video.
Depending on your preferred means of exploring material, every individual lesson is available as either video, audio only, or text only. All 3 formats can be downloaded or streamed for free from the Torah Class website or their app. I know that last bit made it sound like I'm an advert for Torah Class, but I swear I'm 100% unaffiliated, just sharing the listening/reading options.

Eh......very important point to raise if you want to represent yourself as focused on the Torah. The original scripture that Paul depended on to make his arguements about the nature of Christianity and to validate his conclusions was a copy of the SEPTUIGENT. Chirstians have habitually miss interpreted ancient Hebrew Scripture as Christian traditions consistently go back to this corrupted rendering of what the actual Torah in particular, and the Tanakh in general, says.

Abraham was not told to go... he was Abram then - he was renamed. Names are important as when one is renamed, they are 'new'. Notice when the Angel of the Lord speaks to Abraham! Abraham! God speaks once... the Lord always speaks twice - because the Lord does all things and to (2) extremes... see Isaiah 45:7.
But, the Angel says... because you have not withheld your ONLY son... thus the separation of Abram & Abraham, by name.

Ohr means 'light' - but we should notice that the light is the 'Word' as no 'luminaries' were yet created... and are not until 3 1/2 days (1/2 of 7) have passed.
The structure of this book is incredible! It is of God without doubt.
This may be off topic but is food for thought.
To understand God one should first understand the nature of knowledge. Knowledge inherently has no physical form. That which we see is the physical representation of knowledge. For instance, imagine all light bulbs on earth are destroyed, even then the knowledge of the light bulb still exists. Since knowledge inherently has no physical form, it is eternal (no beginning & no end) Now with that said one needs to understand the different types of knowledge. 1st of course is the knowledge of awareness. We know that it exists because it is what we truly are. We are the knowledge of awareness & since we know that knowledge inherently has no physical form, we know that what we truly are is eternal in nature. (no beginning & no end). Our bodies are the physical representation of the knowledge of all it's corresponding parts. If the knowledge of a thing didn't exist then we would never see the physical representation of it. Now if we know that we are eternal in nature, then we know that some other being did not create us, or even create the knowledge of the light bulb, since it too is inherently eternal (no beginning & no end). However, that is not to say there isn't an intelligence of awareness that has been awakened unto the knowledge of all things. (Effectively making them GOD). One could argue that there is truly only this One knowledge of awareness (GOD) in existence and it is focusing it's awareness in every variation of perceived reality simultaneously. Which effectively makes us all apart of a single whole. For instance imagine you where seeing reality through 2 different bodies at the same time, the first body being of a male design and the second body being that of a female design. Now it would still be you perceiving reality through both bodies but individually they would be perceptually separate. On the other hand one could argue that since one piece of knowledge is eternally separate from any other piece of knowledge, like the knowledge of the light bulb is eternally separate from the knowledge of a strawberry. One could argue there is a single unique piece of knowledge (That is you) combined with the knowledge of awareness effectively setting you apart from all others. Eternal none the less.
Amazing teaching! Before this, the only reference I had about Covenant (Hebrew), was a book I read called Blood Covenant by W.E. Kenion in 1978. Somehow I went deeper about Lucifer's fall, when, and how it affected the whole creation, and that helped me understand more about spiritual warfare. This is my next step in understanding deeper. I also studied Derek Prince, and how Father demonstrated the example of covering Adam and Eve's sin with the bloody skin of the 1st animal Father grievously had to kill because the unblemished blood of an innocent animal was not tainted with sin. Can I just say what the book the Strongest Strong’s exhaustive concordance published by Zondervan says with Gods Word, He says in Proverbs 30:5 that every word of his is pure, So using his little words, he will tell you things about the covenant. The First One Genesis 1:28 that is the Only One, They All comes from it.
Just start with the little words like If, At, All, Say, and all the first time used Hebrew words and the verses associated with them. Be prepared if you do it there is a lot of different words and meanings some have 2 or more words are verses . Your eyes will See even if you just read each word the short sentences and if you’re interested read the whole verse. Any of the verses can be done through the book. Just make sure you know the Root Word of each word. Learn the picture graph for even more.

We see this clearly in the book of HOSEA where GOD rebukes the nation ISRAEL, using the name EPHRAIM, the one who received Jacob’s BLESSING AND NAME ISRSEL. We see GOD interchangeably using the name of EPHRAIM and ISRAEL in many places.
Hosea 11:8 “How shall I give thee up, EPHRAIM ? how shall I deliver thee, ISRAEL?” GOD go given to JACOB (ISRAEL...HIS FATHER)
The book of JEREMIAH the PROPHET calls EPHRAIM as the FIRSTBORN of GOD and ANOTHER NAME of ISRAEL. EPHRAIM was and is ISRAEL. The Lord said.....
Jeremiah 31:9 “For I am a father to ISRAEL, and EPHRAIM is MY FIRSTBORN.”
So who is God’s FIRSTBORN (of the TRIBES) -Israel or Ephraim? BOTH the answers are CORRECT!.

The promises that ELPHIM gave to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3) DO NOT REQUIRE any righteous actions on Abraham’s part and are UNCONDITIONAL in nature. In the exchange in chapter 15 ELOHIM bears the responsibility of covenant fulfillment by participating in a self-maledictory covenantal ceremony stipulating symbolically that HE himself will BEAR the consequences should the covenant be broken by either party. God does, however, call Abraham to LIVE in loyalty and faithfulness WITH him in RESPONSE to DIVINE GRACE. (Genesis 17:1, 10-14).

In my opinion: There seems to be a lack of understanding of how the universe works.
Here we see a scholar looking for something authentic* from the post hoc.
History had served the time, of its own; but time & history all changes with the truth. It may not mean the same, the exact same way. Because it simply cannot.
Looking for words to mean something, looking for meaning in words is a completely different thing.
If words have meaning, it would limit understanding - The silk lines of webbing that centers in the meaning.
Words do not always mean what they attempt to mean even in the historical sense.
Time & history both change with truth. The chosen can hear the sound ripple & manifest the fabric of time, space & history. Nothing is that incremental to the conscious mind. There wouldn't be fixated incremental placements, but there would be definite markers. We cannot recollect what hasn't be given to us no matter how it would be recorded.
The fallacy within - seeking meaning of words & words with meaning - would be the identity of the embodiment.
Identity is problematic being a containment unit of thought.
Here it seems the justification to the contrasting meaning to words vs words to mean would be cultural contiousness (behavior).
Sociological reasoning is pre-contaminated and varies on an individual subjective level. It may be a collective race of thought or ideas, but it's locked away from us because the truth would be that we cannot cheat time.
Time is not exactly incrementally fixated & in the human condition, the universe brings it to our very own meaningful place, totally absent of its own incremental state that it once was.
Not all words or how many words actually convey/s the quantifiable & qualitative facets of compleness. The meaning is all that matters to the insufficient intellectual who aquires by aspirations of understanding. It's too various of a circumstance at the subjective level to say the least & that time doesn't belong to anyone because everyone died in/about it.
But the universe shows certain people the truth of history & not historical account. Words without meaning come short just as meaning of words do. The meaning of words would be more problematic being the universe changes all time & understanding with its truth.
Synchrony produces history even if it's a forgotten thing.
G-d as we know, would be way more than any Word written down even if the culture wasn't ready to have Him. Culture brings ideomoter theory into place. Identity brings preset & limited view. Why would anyone ever try to understand from that? The educated really come short of reality because of being educated - therefore limited.
