Hommage à Edith Piaf, the Little Sparrow!🐦French composer Francis Poulenc wrote 15 "Improvisations", and this last one, composed in 1959, was dedicated to Edith Piaf. Nobody really knows why he wrote it, or if they ever met. Maybe he just loved her music, and who doesn’t?!❤There’s no reference to any of her songs in this piece, as far as I know, but it sure has that Piaf-esque melancholy passion and all the Parisian charm you would expect from Poulenc.🇫🇷Simply gorgeous music.😍
